We first found out Sweetheart had food allergies when I gave her some of her first birthday cake. That was her first exposure to eggs ever, and an official food trial a little while later confirmed that eggs made her pretty sick. Because we knew she had one allergy and because of a few things that had happened when we ate peanuts around her, we suspected that she was probably allergic to peanuts, too, but we weren't positive until we forgot to tell the nursery leaders at church and she had an accidental exposure there. That trip to the hospital was followed by a trip to the allergist, who confirmed a life-threatening peanut allergy and a lesser allergy to eggs and tree nuts.
While I for sure won't say that this has been fun, it really has been exciting and I have learned so much. My hope is that my stories and this little blog can help raise awareness and understanding about this rapidly growing problem, and help a few others along the way.
Here are a few of my posts about our adventure with food allergies. Be sure to check out the recipe section, too, for a few of our favorite allergy friendly recipes!

Wow! That is amazingly sad. It's good you are on top of it and raising awareness. Good on you! I wish you both the best of luck! AND GOOD LUCK with your tracey anderson adventure too.
I'm sensitive to chemicals and when I'm not well it stretches towards foods (moulds are a problem for me). I too am trying to raise awareness, my blog is at http://thelabyrinthofthechemicallysensitive.wordpress.com/
Cheers
