Finally some cards!!

I finally have a card to share! Well actually I have two!!
I have a lot going on at home just now and my heart is just not in crafting or blogging just now, which is why I haven't posted on here for ages, but I didn't want to let my design team girls down again, so I forced myself to make a few cards :)

The first is for By The Cute and Girly for our April challenge which is Vintage.
Our sponsor this month is Tea House Bridge who is giving away this lovely selection of goodies to the winner.

The lovely owner also sent me some goodies for the design team to play with, so I have used some of them on my card :)

I used a freebie image that I have had for a long long time and coloured with Copics. The papers are Prima and some old sheet music. I distressed all the edges and inked them with vintage photo distress ink.
The pom pom trim and cute flower buttons are from Tea House Bridge.
Paper flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts, crochet flower from Little Snippets (link in my sidebar) and the cute little charm I found in my stash and thought it went well with the image.
Oh the gorgeous lace which you can't see very well in the pic was a gift from one of my teamies at BTC&G and friend Ger, and the sentiment is a Pink Gem stamp.

A close up so you can see the charm better :)
You can also see the pom pom trim and one of the buttons from our sponsor better in this pic.

My second card is for Digital Tuesday where the challenge theme is Springtime.
I've had huge problems with the post over there today and for some reason although the post was showing when I went to edit, it wouldn't show on the actual blog! I now have it fixed though and the post is up :)

Our sponsor this week over there is The Paper Nest Dolls
who are giving away a $25 gift certificate to the winner!

I used one of  their images on my card and kept it quite simple as I really wasn't in the mood for crafting last night........I still love to colour, but just can't be bothered making the card....weird!!
Hopefully I will get the crafting bug back soon!

Sorry about the rubbish pics, I had to take them quickly this morning before there was much light.

The image I have used is called Playing In The Rain. I was going to use a different image at first which was a Springtime image, but I thought this one captured what Spring has been like here this year! lol
I coloured with a mix of Copics and Promarkers- mostly Copics.
The papers are MME, ribbon from my stash, border was cut using a Cart-us die and the butterfly was done with a die that came free in a magazine!
I cut the butterfly out twice, one on orange shimmery card stock and the other on patterned paper, just to give it a bit of dimension and then I added a pearl bead body which had fallen off a store bought butterfly embellishment, so I thought I would make use of it.

I'm not sure about the colouring of the hair on this girl. I'm rubbish at hair like this- at the ends where it just trails off , but I think it looks ok?

Finally a close up of the butterfly so you can see the dimension.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I really don't deserve to have any visitors as I have been rubbish at blogging these last few months, but I do appreciate it and every comment you leave makes me smile :)

A bit of Magnolia and La-La Land :)

I have a couple of dt cards to share today. Starting with my card for the challenge at By The Cute and Girly where the challenge this month is "Favourite Things".
I was going to use an image from Bugaboo Stamps who is one of our sponsors this month (the other sponsor is Lili of the Valley), but I ran out of paper to print on, so I had to use something I've been using up images that I had previously stamped/printed.
Bugaboo Stamps are offering one winner digital images (winners choice) and Lili Of The Valley are offering a £10 gift certificate.

I didn't have much of a choice of pre stamped or printed images, so I chose this Tilda and coloured her up with Copics. Not sure what occasion this card would be for though lol.
I couldn't decide on one or two favourite things to use, so I used loads! haha
So my favourites are, lace, flowers, pearls, and of course my favourite things is Copics :)

The checked paper is from a little craft shop that prints their own papers, the music paper is from an old sheet music book and the crown one I think is Raspberry Road.
I can't remember where I got the gorgeous lace from, but I love it:) Flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts and I attacked them all with stickles lol, pearl heart thing is from Hobbycraft, pink trim I got in a pack from Poundland! and the pretty crochet flower is from Little Snippets Etsy store.

A close up of the lovely crochet flowers from Geraldine at Little Snippets, just because I love em :)
I added a button and threaded through a scrap of lace.

My other card is for Digital Tuesday where the challenge this week is "Frame It", and I really didn't want to post it because I hate my colouring on this card (which is why I am posting it today instead of Tuesday when I should of posted it!)
I used Copics and the dark brown colours went all waxy and streaky :( and I didn't have time to start over again, or another image to colour anyway. The rest of the image is ok, but the hair is horrible! Just skip over her head! lol

I do love this image though :) It's from La-La Lan Crafts. I cut her out and stuck her onto a frame digi image which is from our sponsor this week- My Grafico. It's from the Delicate Frames digital stamp set by Lil Ellaboudy Design I'm just glad that I printed the frame out before I ran out of paper! I wanted to add little pearls to the dots on the frame, but I couldn't find any. I know I have but they have vanished....probably some little hands have taken them....aka my Daughter!! lol
So I added some stickles instead.
The papers are by Prima, flowers which again are stickled are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the pretty butterfly I got from The Works and I used a little piece of stringed pearls beside the flowers. They pearls were white but I wanted them blue, so I just coloured them with one of the Copics that I used to colour the image so it would match perfectly.....don't ya just love markers :)
Oh forgot to say that the prize this week is any digital set from My Grafico (no price limitation,  so the set the winner chooses could be worth up to $20!).

Thanks so much for stopping by and for any comments that you leave.
I have been rubbish at blogging lately, but I will be on a mission this weekend to visit everyone who has left me comments :)

Digital Tuesday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Digital Tuesday 200th challenge blog hop!!
We are having a blog hop to celebrate alongside our normal challenge, which is "Buttons or Bling"with the added option of making an anniversary card/gift, and we have prizes on the dt blogs as well as a prize for the challenge from our sponsor this week which is Robyn's Fetish who is giving away 5 digital images to one lucky winner.

For a chance to win a prize on the dt blogs all you have to do is comment on each dt blog, then leave a comment on the Digital Tuesday Challenge blog to let us know you have completed the hop. Your name will then be put into the draw and winners will be announced on the challenge blog next Tuesday along with the new challenge.
You can also enter this weeks challenge for a chance to win the Robyn's Fetish prize and if you combine the buttons or bling theme along with something for an anniversary, you will be given an extra entry into the challenge prize draw.

The hop starts at Amy's blog, so you will want to start there.

I didn't have time to make a card for this weeks challenge, but I made one last week just for fun which I forgot to blog, and it had buttons and bling, so it came in handy for this weeks challenge post :)
I like to use our sponsors images as much as possible, but as I already had this card made, I couldn't this week.

The image I used is from La-La Land Crafts and I coloured with Copics and added loads of stickles, then stuck her onto a die cut frame which was done with a Nellie Snellen die.
The papers are Prima, flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, flourishes were done with a Marianne die, the funky lacey ribbon stuff was a gift from a friend and the buttons and ribbon which has sequins, beads and glittery bits on it were from my stash.

A close up of the image (sorry it's a bit blurry, my camera is really playing up, think it's time to buy a new one.....again!!). I love these images, they are so much fun to colour.

I took a funny angled pic so you can see the sparkle on the image, and you can just see some of the beads and sequins on the ribbon peeking through :)

I haven't really had a chance to shop for a prize yet as we just decided to do this hop last week and I was rushing about doing wedding stuff, so I decided my prize would be a mystery prize (it's just as much a mystery to me as it is to you as I have no idea what it will be yet! lol).
So whoever wins my prize will get a surprise package!
I can tell you that it won't come in a box like this and is not likely to fill a box that size either lol.
Just leave a comment on this post for a chance to win my prize.
You must have commented on every dt blog on the hop for a chance to win our prizes.
No need to follow my blog (unless you want to of course), or any other silly rules, just comment on the dt blogs and we will chose winners at random next Tuesday.
All winners will be announced on the challenge blog, although some of the design team may also post their winners details on their own blogs too.

I'm the last dt stop on the list, now you just have to hop over to the Digital Tuesday challenge blog and leave a comment to let us know you have finished the hop :)

Here's a list of the hop order in case you loose your way

By The Cute and Girly blog hop

This post in pinned to the top of my blog. Please scroll down for more recent posts.
You can see my second By The Cute and Girly post for October using another Whiff Of Joy image here

It's By The Cute and Girly's 3rd Birthday today and we are celebrating with a birthday challenge and blog hop :)

My blog is the first on he list, so you are in the right place if you have just came to visit and didn't know about the hop :)
The design team have all been busy making something to celebrate our 3rd birthday and we would love for you to visit us all to see what we made.
The blog hop rules are very simple, all you have to do is visit each of the design team members blogs and leave a comment on each one, then finish up at our challenge blog and leave a comment there to let us know you have finished the hop
Your name will then be put in a draw to win one of the blog hop prizes.
If you also enter our challenge this month, you will also be put in the draw to win one of challenge prizes.
You have the whole month to enter and you can enter the challenge as much times as you like, as long as each entry is a different craft eg: 1 card, 1 scrap page, 1 altered item, 1 knitted item etc.
And as always, you can enter with any craft you like, from paper craft to baking and everything in between. If you made it yourself then you can enter is, it's as easy as that :)
The theme is "Birthdays" so it's a nice easy challenge and we have lots of prizes up for grabs from some great sponsors! Please check out the challenge blog to see all the prizes we have to give away!
Each design team member is featuring a different sponsor today, so you will see images or other products from a different sponsor being used on each of the dt blogs. We also have other sponsors on the challenge blog, so there really is lots of prizes to be won :)
The sponsor I am featuring is Whiff Of Joy
Katharina very kindly sent me a stamp to use for my card, and it is the same stamp which she is giving away as a prize :)

The stamp I used is called "Those Belong To Me". It is currently out of stock at the moment but you can enter the challenge this month for a chance to win it :)
I coloured it with Copics and cut it out with a Nellie Snellen die.
The papers are Prima, flowers are a mix of Wild Orchid Crafts and ones from Hobbycraft.
I used some cheesecloth (love this stuff!), ribbon, lace, a pearl ribbon slider and a metal corner all of which are either from my stash or gifts from my lovely dt members (thank you ladies, you know who you are xx)
I just hope that Katharina thinks I have done her lovely stamp justice as my hand is still numb so my colouring is not so good just now :(
And a close up of the cute image :)

The next stop is Celine's blog and I know she has a gorgeous card to show you.

Remember to leave a comment on this post and on all the other design team members blog hop post for a chance to win one of the prizes. Then leave a comment on the challenge blog post to let us know you are finished the hop and your name will go into the prize draw.
Here's a list of the blog hop order in case you loose your way.

Thanks so much for stopping by

A bit of shabby chic birthday ;)

This will be a long post with lots of pics, so you might want to get yourself comfy first with a cuppa before reading ;)

It's the middle of the month (already! where did October go?!!), which means I have some stuff to show you that I made for the inspiration post over at By The Cute and Girly challenge.
It's our 3rd Birthday this month and we are celebrating with a special birthday challenge and blog hop! You can see my blog hop post at the top of my blog :)
We are all using a different sponsors images/products this month as we have a lot of sponsors with lots of prizes of course (15 prizes in fact!) to help celebrate our birthday, and my sponsor is  Whiff Of Joy.
The lovely Katharina sent me a stamp to use for the challenge, which I used for my card at the start of the month, but this time I decided to buy one of her digi stamps to use on my card (I was going to buy a rubber stamp to use, but I forgot about it until the other day and by then I was too late to order it in time for the inspiration post).
Anyway, I thought it would be nice to make something a bit special since it's my challenge blogs birthday:) So I decorated/altered a plain wooden jewelry box and made a card using the WOJ image.
First here's the card I made.

I went a bit shabby chic with this one as I wanted it to kind of match my box (it doesn't really match but it's the same kind of style lol).
The image is called "Tea For Two" and I coloured it with Promarkers, then glittered and inked the edges with stardust stickles and antique linen distress ink.
I love these images and really have to get more!;)
The papers are Prima ones and I also used some old sheet music, and matted the image and base layer with blue coredinations cardstock.
I did the white paint thing and added some paint to almost everything lol, to give it a softer feel.
The flowers I made using Mariane Designs flower dies (a large and small flower die from the same set). I made some little rose style flowers for the top and just layered up some of the flowers for the bottom flower and added a flower from Wild Orchid Crafts in the center. Of course I glittered them :)
The flourish/swirls are made using a Marianne Die and an MFT die.
Lace was bought in a little craft shop in Stonehaven, ticket sentiment was a digi freebie that I got ages ago buit can't remember where from, pearl string from my stash ad the cute little teapot charm is from Janlynn from the "Tea Time" charm pack. They have these fab steampunk sets of charms, and I love them! :)
There is so much to choose from and you can use them for so much different projetcs. I used a flat charm, but a lot of them in the range are 3d, and they are gorgeous!
You can check out their steampunk range here.
Oh and we have some up for grabs along with loads of other goodies from Janlynn this month over at the challenge blog.

A close up of the cute image :)

Isn't that charm cute? :)

Ok, so that's the card and here's the box. Warning, there is quite a few pics!

I wanted to give this box an old shabby feel, so I painted it with sandstone acrylic paint, then a layer of crackle medium and finished off with a top coat of white acrylic paint so that the white cracked and little bits of the darker paint shows through.
You can't really see the cracked effect very well in these pics, but it looks better in real life.
I didn't use an image for a change! (I can tell you, that really was a challenge for me!! lol), but I wanted something in the center, so I used a Prima chipboard shape instead.
The lace on top is the same as I used in my card, and the flowers were made the same way too, except I added some white paint to them and added some tiny white rose buds.
The little heart was a plain wooden one and I painted it the same way as the rest of the box, and did the same with the die cut flourishes.
The pretty metal butterfly was gift from a friend, which I added some light blue pearls to, as was the metal corner.
Finally for the outside, I added some pretty beaded trim on the drawer, but the ribbon the beads are attached to is blue and it looked a bit out of place (because the blue was a bit too bright), so I added some pretty lace over the top.

And this is the inside :)

I kept the inside quite plain because if I added loads of embellies, it wouldn't close properly lol.
So I just added some Prima paper and a wooden heart.

This isn't a very good pic, but you can see that I lined the inside of the drawer with some more Prima paper.

And finally (I promise!! lol), some close up pics so you can see the detail a bit better.
I didn't want to add loads of pics, but there is so much little bits of detail on this project.

You can see the glitter and paint on  the flowers a bit better in this pic. I used the same Prima papers to make the flowers ad some old sheet music.

So that's it for me for today (thank goodness! I hear you say lol)
Thanks so much for stopping by and any comments that you may leave.
I love reading my comments and appreciate you taking the time to leave me one :)

Digital Tuesday Flowers

The challenge this week at Digital Tuesday this week is "Say It With Flowers" and our sponsor is Fred She Said who is giving away a $20 gift certificate to one lucky winner.
Of course Tracey at FSS is the master of floral images, so she was the perfect sponsor for this week and the design team have used some of her images.
I don't often make floral cards, so this is a bit different for me!

The beautiful rose from Fred She Said is coloured with a mix of Copics and Promarkers and  also added some diamond stickles for a bit of sparkle.
The die cut which the images is on is a Nellie Snellen die.
The papers are Prima, large flowers are from Hobbycraft and the smaller pink ones and the tiny white ones are by Wild Orchid Crafts and I also added stickles to them :)
The pretty embroidered leaf is from Little Snippets, and some ribbon from my stash.

A close up of the rose which you can just about see the glitter on.

I don't know when I will be back with a post because my router broke last night and I have to wait for a new one to come which they said would be 2 to 3 days, so today I am writing this post at my MIL's house (it's Monday while I'm writing it) and  hopefully it will post on time!
I will be back for the new challenge at By The Cute and Girly on October 1st at  the latest though.
And just a heads up that we have something special planned for October as it's our 3rd birthday!! :) Lots of fun and prizes, so you won't want to miss it!

Thanks for stopping by today

Tuesday, 21 August 2012

My girls are back to school today, so I can finally get back into a routine and post on my blog a lot more often :) Liam goes back tomorrow, but hes no trouble. Hes a typical teenage boy and lays in his bed all day!! lol (sorry my apostrophe button on my keyboard is broken, so just pretend there is apostrophes where there should be! lol)

So today I am sharing a card that I made for this weeks challenge at Digital Tuesday where we have a sketch made my Maya to follow.

Our sponsor this week is Stitch Stamps who is giving away a $10 gift voucher to spend on anything from  3 of their designers, Stitchy Stamps,. Floppy Latte Designs and Barbara Jensen, who the design team also got use images from.

Sorry about the dull pics!
The image I used is called "Yo" and is by Barbara Jensen for Stitchy Stamps. You can find it here.
She has been coloured with a mix of Copics and Promarkers.
Not sure what make the striped paper is, but the other one is by Websters Pages (love their papers :))
In keeping with the sketch, I used a Tim Holz ticket, but I only had one left which said "dream" on it and it didnt really go with the card, so I cut out a sentiment from a sheet I found in my stash (sorry no idea where it came from) and stuck that on top.
Also used some lace, ribbon, ribbon slider, a Prima flower (havent used these in ages!!) which I added a charm thing on top of. It is not a spacer even though it looks like one. It has a little hoop at the top but I just snippet it off :)

You can just about see here that I added some stardust stickles around the edges of the leaves, also on the flower, ticket and around the edges of the image. Oh and I also used some glittery cardstock to mat with.

And some gorgeous sheer applique leaves from Little Snippets. I love these leaves! They are so pretty and make a nice change to paper/card die cut or punched leaves. I think these were my last ones, so will need to go stock up. Ger has loads of lovely "snippets" in her Etsy store, including the prettiest embroidered butterflies and flowers (she also does some crotchet ones) and one of my personal favourites from her store is the  Venice lace style scrapbook/card corners (you got to check them out, because they are so pretty) loads of different embroidered embellies, ribbon, pins and I just noticed while browsing the store that she has added a Christmas fabric selection pack which also includes a bonus embellishment kit (I love the snowflakes!), which I want....no need!! lol
If you have never been over to the Little Snippets Etsy store, you really have to pop over and have a peek :)

Hope some of you will join in with the challenge this week.
I am still struggling with my numb hands (both are numb now, except my thumb and first finger on my right hand which means I can still hold a marker and colour......just lol :) So sorry if I havent left you a comment lately. I have been vising blogs, but it takes forever for me to type so I havent left much comments these past few weeks (this post has taken me ages to write!! lol), but as soon as my hands are back to normal (hopefully sometime soon!), I will be back commenting as much as I can :)

Thanks so much for stopping by

Fruity

I should of posted this card this morning, but I've been super busy today with sorting out sponsor stuff for my challenge blogs, so only just got around to writing a post.
Before I get onto my card, I just want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who left me comments and/or emailed me about yesterdays post. It really means a  lot to me to have your support and all the comments/emails really cheered me up :)
I haven't heard anything from my anonymous commenter since I did that post yesterday, so she has obviously got the message ;)

Right enough of that, here's a card I made for this months By The Cute and Girly challenge. The challenge this month is "Fruity" and although I thought I had no fruity images or papers etc, I managed to find an image, paper and a fruity charm! Go me!! lol
Oh and before I forget, we gift certificates up for grabs this month from Simon Says Stamp and Joanna Sheen.

I found this image in my digi files from Bugaboo which was perfect for the challenge.
I coloured her up with a mix of Copics and Promarkers and added little bits of stardust stickles.
The papers are by Raspberry Road (I think?) quite appropriate for  the challenge now that I think about it. That wasn't actually intentional, I just noticed that just now lol. I chose the use these ones as this pad had the strawberry paper.
The crotchet flower is from Little Snippets which I added on top of a Prima bloom and some skeleton leaves which I found in my stash....never even know I had red skeleton leaves! (I also found some blue ones! lol) and I also added a little charm on top which I got from my BTC&G teamie Ger. I just snipped off the little hole at the top. The cute strawberry charm was also a gift from Ger (she's sooo good to me!!:)) Oh and some ribbon from my stash.

If your wandering why I used wavy edges on everything......well, it wasn't supposed to be that way, but when I went to cut my card blank, my wavy cutter was on instead of straight and I didn't notice, so I just went with the wavy theme! lol

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope to see you join in with the challenge.

Easel Card with box

The new challenge is up at By The Cute and Girly and our theme this month is "Cute As A Button".
Now I don't need any excuse to make a cute card, but I don't often use buttons and after looking through my stash, I only found a handful! Think I'd better stock up on buttons!!

This month instead of making another card, I wanted to do something different but had no idea what.
I have seen some of these easel cards with boxes underneath before around blogland but have never made one, so thought I would give it a try. Try I did, but it didn't turn out very well!! lol
It would of probably helped if I looked for measurements or a tutorial on the net, but I decided I would just try work it out myself...bad move!! lol
I didn't have 12x12 paper that was thick enough (only got some thin(ish) glossy card, so need to stock up on that too!), so instead of my usual 6x6" card, I made a 4x4 easel card and then the box to fit underneath.
I'm not happy with how it turned out, 1 because it's a lot smaller than what I normally make and there wasn't enough room for lots of embellies and 2 because I don't have a proper score board (only one of those little things that don't have measurement on) and can you believe that I don't own a ruler??!!! lol So I had to kind of work out the measurements using my cutter which was a problem because I have the crafters companion 5 in 1 thing (which I hate by the way!! lol) and you can't see the measurements between 7 and 8 inches.
Anyway, the bit that wraps around the drawer could of been a bit smaller, but all in all for my first attempt without a tutorial, I think it's turned out ok and I will have another try at it.

All the papers I used are K&Co and I even decorated the back but I didn't take a pic lol.
The image is a digi from Di's Digi Downloads who is one of our sponsors this month and I coloured it with Copics.

The scalloped square was cut with a Nellie Snellen die and the top leaf with a Marianne die. Buttons and pearl hearts from my stash. Crotchet flower and embroidered leaf are from Little Snippets etsy store (unfortunately Ger is no longer selling her embroidered bits no more) and the top flower is a Prima one.
The lace is some I got a while back from my teamie Ger. To make it sturdy enough since it is used as the drawer handle, I stuck it to a strip of card which worked well as it meant I could shape it to stay the way I wanted without it just flopping over.

Isn't this image cute? :) I popped it up with foam pads to give it a bit of dimension.

The BTC&G dt have done a great job again this month and have loads of inspiration for you, so why not pop over and see what the rest of the team made and join in with the challenge too.
We have prizes from our 2 regular sponsors, Simon Says Stamp and Joanna Sheen and also from our digi sponsor this month, Di's Digi Downloads.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you are having a great day!

By The Cute and Girly- In the Kitchen

The new challenge is up at By The Cute and Girly today and this month it was Geraldine's turn to choose a theme. She chose "In The Kitchen" and at first I wasn't sure what I was going to do for this theme, but once I thought about it, I realised that there is loads of scope to be really crafty with this theme.
I just made 2 cards for the first post of the month, but I think for the 2nd dt post in the middle of the month, I will make some cakes or something with my kids and I had another idea of what I could make (well alter actually) so I will see how that goes and if it works, I will post some pics lol.

Anyway, onto the cards I made for the challenge. You can do anything kitchen, food or drink related, and as one of our sponsors is the fab Spesch Stamps, I used their Lemon Girl image and made a card with it :)

As I said the image is from Spesch Stamps and is coloured with Promarkers and the sentiment is one of Meljen's freebies that I got ages ago and remembered about it when I was colouring the girl. I thought it went perfect with this image :)
The papers are by Hot Off The Press, flowers are all Primas except the little blue one which I found in my stash, and the gems, butterfly and lace is also from my stash.

I wish there was more light in my house! All my photos seem so blurry lately. I just can't get a decent pic now matter what time of the day I take it or what room I take it in. Think I need to invest in a light tent and some lamps!!

The other card I made is using a Stichy Stamps image that I have had for goodness knows how long!
I was having a look through my digi images and came across it and thought it would be perfect for the challenge, so I coloured it up with Promarkers and made this card.

I kept this one really simple and let the paper do the work :) The designer paper is from an old Basic Grey pad, sorry can't remember what the collection is called, I have had it for ages and only have a few loose sheets left.
I added some ribbon and raffia and tied them together in a bow, and also threaded some of the raffia through a button from my stash and job done.
I love these papers, they are so pretty, I really need to find some more of them!

That's it from me for today. I hope you will check out the challenge! As always we have some great prizes from our sponsors- Simon Says Stamp, Joanna Sheen and Spesch Stamps and remember you can enter with any craft, from papercrafts to baking and anything in between!

Oh and just a reminder that my giveaway is still running, which you can find in this post here.
You have until Tuesday night to enter for a chance to win a copy of the My Memories digital scrapbook software worth $40.
All you have to do is pop over to the My Memories store and then leave me a comment letting me know which one of their boy kits you like best :) and if you are one of my followers already, there's no need to do anything else. Unless you want to spread the word by doing a post on your blog or putting the details of my giveaway in your blog sidebar, and if you do that, you will be in with a chance of winning a crafty prize from me :)
And for anyone who wants to buy the software, I have a code which you can use to get $10 off the price of the software and also $10 free to spend in the My Memories store :)
The code you need is STMMMS44022

Love Is In The Air

This months challenge theme over at By The Cute and Girly is "Love Is In The Air" and we have some wonderful sponsors as always :) As well as Simon Says Stamp and Joanna Sheen who sponsor us every month, we also have Bugaboo Stamps who very kindly gave the design team an image each to use for the challenge.
I made 2 cards for the first post this month and have made something else for our mid month post which will post on the challenge blog on the 15th, so today I am showing the 2 cards I made.

First up is the one I made with a Bugaboo image. Sorry about the rubbish pic, for some reason my camera just doesn't like taking pics of anything orange or red and it always goes a bit blurry. It's probably just the photographer, not the camera but blaming my camera instead of me taking the blame sounds good lol.
I used a Valentines Critter and sentiment that comes with this image.
The papers are a bit of a mix and I have no idea who makes them, all I know is the the stripy one is the reverse of the one with the hearts.
I used some flowers from my stash (Prima's and some satin ones), some satin ribbon from Little Snippets and just cut the sentiment into a heart shape, freehand because I don't have a heart die or punch and inked the edges.

And here is my second card that I made for the challenge.

I used Hanglar images for this one and some DCWV papers. I had already coloured and cut out the little girl, and then decided that I wanted something for her to sit on, so I just cut out the other image and stuck her on top with foam pads instead of masking and stamping like I normally would.
I used a heart doily and got a bit carried away with colouring bits of it! I thought it might look nice if I went around the edges with a Promarker in the same colour as I used for my image, and got a bit carried away and coloured around some other bits too lol.
I used some Prima flowers from my stash (which I forgot I had because I never ever use the small ones), a little rose, some paper flowers (which are layered with Primas on the bottom flower), some gems, a pearl brad and a Tim Holtz adage ticket.

Unfortunately I didn't have enough Promarkers in this colours to shade properly but I think she doesn't look too bad! Just pretend she is beautifully coloured! lol

Thank for stopping by and I hope you will pop over and check out the challenge blog to see what the other girls have been up to.
