Sunflower Smiles

I can't believe I have actually blogged 3 days in a row now after not blogging at all for a month! I missed of missed you all too much! :) lol
I actually got a card made yesterday that wasn't for any dt's, decided I would make one just for fun for a change. I didn't even follow any challenges. It's been so long since I have made a card just because I want to!
I'm not very keen on it mind you, but thought I would show it anyway, and I also found a card pic on my computer that has been there for about 6 weeks and never been blogged, so thought I would show that one today too.

Ok, so my first card is a happy sunflower one :) I found a printed image by Pink Cat Studio, that I must of printed out months ago but never coloured, so I coloured her up and made a simple card with it.

I thought this was a nice bright, fun image to use since we have been having such horrible wet weather in Scotland lately :)
The paper I used is one from a pad that came with a magazine and I can't remember for the life of me who it's by. We have been getting some great paper pads free with the mags lately though, haven't we? I never buy magazines unless they have a nice free gift with them! lol It's normally cheaper to buy the mag than it is to buy the paper pad itself, so I figure that I'm getting a bargain and also have a mag to read if I'm bored lol.
The lace was a gift from my lovely blogging friend Ger and I threaded some green organza ribbon from my stash through it.
The flowers are ones I have had from when I designed for Janlynn.com/Stamps Happen, and they no longer sell them. I'm not a big sunflower fan, but thought these went well with the image.
The image is coloured with a mix of Copics and Promarkers and I actually used my Cricut to cut out the scalloped squares and also the leaves. Told you I would only use it for normal shapes lol.
I am having problems getting the correct pressure/speed etc though, so it's kind of put me off using it :( It's just a waste of good paper/card (which I have hardly any of as it is!) when it won't cut properly and tears the paper to bits! The girl I bought it from said that it was a new blade that was fitted in it, so I'm sure it's just me not being able to use it properly! lol. As I bought it second hand, it didn't come with any instructions, so I have had to do a bit of searching online to find out what pressure etc I need to set it at, but even after following all the recommendations on the Provocraft site, I still can't get it right! lol

My second card is Springy too :) I think I should of maybe used one of these cards for the By The Cute and Girly challenge instead of using one that isn't very springy lol.

I love this cute image from LOTV, but I'm not happy with the way I coloured it. I don't have this stamp, but I got some LOTV stamped images months back in a magazine (told you these mags come in handy! lol) and they are on really thin paper, so you can't really add much ink without it bleeding.
The papers I used on this one are K&Co, roses from my stash, the big flower I have no idea who make it because I bought them off a blogging friend (thanks again hunnie), and the embroidered leaves and butterfly were from Little Snippets, but unfortunately Ger has stopped selling her embroidered bits :( Such a shame because they are beautiful. Oh and the ribbon is also from Little Snippets.

That's it from me for today on the card front, but I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who left my comments these last few days. They really cheered me up and gave me the incentive I needed to keep blogging :) You are all fantastic and I appreciate every one of you coming to visit and taking the time to leave me comments :)

A Little Bit of Love

As promised, I am back with the card I made for By The Cute and Girly challenge, where the theme is "Love Is All Around". As valentines day is now past, most people want want to be making valentines cards and gifts (unless you are super organised and want to be ready for next year! lol), but you can make anything you like, it doesn't have to be a valentines card.
I made my card a few day ago, so I was still in red and pink mode.

I followed the sketch over at Sketch and Stash and used this Pink Cat Studio image which I have had for goodness knows how long. I don't know if I have ever used this image before but I have had it for as long as I can remember, so it was about time I coloured  her up!
As ususal, I coloured with Promarkers.
I only used one sheet of designer paper, it was double sided so I just used both sides, but I got it from a lovely blogging friend and don't know who makes it, but it was perfect for this challenge.
The sentiment is also really old. It's a digital freebie that I got along with a pile of other ones, but I can't remember where from. If anyone knows, please tell me so I can give credit to the designer.
The sketch has a scalloped border underneath the strip, but I don't have any border punches now, so had to make my own (I would of never thought I would miss my border punches so much, but I really miss them and will have to get more soon!).
I just used a Stampin Up scalloped oval punch, cut out a few ovals then cut them all in half and stuck them to the back of my card.

I hope you will take the time to join in with this months challenge. You can enter with any craft you like and there are some fab prizes to be won!

I won't be around tomorrow as I will have no internet access because there is work being done by the electricity people and we have been told that we will have no electricity for the whole day!
Not really what I need when we have 3 reptiles who need heat, and one of them needs UV light! This also means that I can't feed them until they have been heated up as they can't digest food without heat, so I will have 2 hungry leopard geckos and a baby bearded dragon tomorrow!! :(
Hopefully they get finished quickly and they don't get too cold while the electric is off! I will just have to make sure I have some hot water bottles on standby!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Digital Tuesday- Litttle Women

The challenge at Digital Tuesday this week is "Little Women"- use a female image. Nice and easy :)

I used an image from Pink Cat Studio and of course coloured her with Promarkers. The papers were more freebies from a mag, ribbon from Hobbycraft and the flower I made with the same ribbon, a papermania fabric flower and little rose. Oh and the white ribbon was a bargain from a local shop.
Another really simple card for me, but it's because I have been using 5x5 cards instead of my usual 6x6 because I couldn't get the cardstock I normaly buy to make my own card blanks and my local craft store don't sell 6x6 card blanks so I picked up some of the smaller ones and will have to make do with them until I get some new card and can make my own.
There's just not enough room on this size for all the embellishments I usually use, and I am really struggling with them, but I bought a pack of 50 so still have 40 something to use so I'd better get used to it lol.

Here's the Promarker colours I used to colour this little cutie.
Skin- oatmeal, blush, ivory and baby pink for cheeks
Hair- Cocoa, Raw Sienna, Cinnamon
Clothes, bags and all the other little bits- Orchid, Lavendar, baby pink, rose pink

As I mentioned yesterday, it's by birthday tomorrow (wednesday) and I think I might have a little bit of candy to celebrate :)
I have stopped doing my fortnightly mini candies for a while, but I will do some random giveaways for my followers/commenters, so you will never know when I might spring a prize on you ;) and I will start the fortnightly giveaways again in the next few weeks....just got to sort out some stuff to give away first lol.

Oh and before I forget to mention it, you may have noticed the blog hop banner on the top of my blog.....well Inky Impressions are having a new release blog hop at the end of this week. The new release stamps are so sweet, you won't want to miss them.

Monochrome Anya, and a late card!

I actualy started this card for the Cupcake challenge which was monochrome but I ended up not getting it finished so I turned it into my dt card for Charisma Cardz where the theme this week is cards for a teenager.
As I said in my last post, I'm trying to use my older stamps/images, so I used an older Anya for my card and made it really girly :)

The butterfly paper is by Papermania, the one under Anya which has crowns on it is the reverse side of a 12x12 sheet by Best Creation Ink. The charm is off a charm bracelet (very cheap one lol) and I thought it went well with the crown paper, but I have covered most of the paper up lol.
The 3 roses at the top are from Janlynn.com, and the ones at the bottom are Primas and a rose by papermania. Ribbon and lace from my stash and Anya was coloured with the usual Promarkers.

I just realised that I didn't post last weeks dt card for Charisma.....ooops!! So here it is now (sorry Carly!)

The challenge was to use die cuts, so I used die cut shapes from Die Cut Dreams to mat my image on.
The sweet image is from Pink Cat Studio and as always was coloured with Promarkers.
Stripy paper is by Craftwork Cards and the pink was one I got with a magazine ages ago.

The ribbon was white but I coloured it with a Promarker and the flower I made using some organza fabric.

I used my heat gun on the edges of the fabric and stuck all the layers together with a brad......easy peasy :)
A few people have asked me before how I made these kind of flowers, so if enough people are interested, I will do a little tutorial. Just leave me a comment if you are interested in me doing a short tutorial so you can see exactly how I made them :)
