Not sure why but I have a Valentine's finish that was completed awhile ago and I never posted it here. The design is called "True Love" by The Samplerbird and Robin offered it as a freebie on her blog last February. I stitched it on 32ct white opalescent fabric and the DMC floss called for in the design. I also stitched a fob using the smaller design but I haven't finished it off yet.
I finished it using a heart shaped silicone baking cup. It was a bit tricky trying to get the fabric heart shaped when putting it into the cup, so I did the best I could. It was really a fun design to stitch! Thank You Robin!
As promised here is my progress on MLQ. I worked on it a lot yesterday so I now have the whole first row of alphabet done. I saw a picture of someone's finish awhile ago and noticed she stitched her initials in a different color than the rest of the alphabet. So I decided to do that too. I may frog out the letter "B" and do that in a different color as that isn't one of my initials and I chose that color as the one to do my initials in....I don't know . What do you think??
It is suppose to rain later today and tomorrow. Sounds like stitching days to me! I do have a Butterfly Club meeting on Sunday so no stitching that day. Maybe at night though watching "Once Upon A Time".
Thanks so much for all of your wonderful comments and for stopping by!
Have a great weekend everyone!

My Red Exchange Was Received
I recently participated in the HOE exchange called Go Red For the Heart. I sent my exchange to Lisette who emailed me this morning to say she received it and loved it!
I really had alot of fun stitching it as it was a bit of a challenge for me. I stitched it over 1 on 32 ct belfast linen. This is the 2 nd time I have stitched over 1 and I have to say it went smoothly! The first time I stitched over 1 it was a disaster lol The only difference this time was I used evenweave linen. Last time I just used regular linen. The next challenge I had was trying to finish it to fit it properly into a heartshaped cupcake holder. I have only ever made round cupcakes and stuffed them using fiber fill. This time my DH had an idea to use styrofoam in the cupcake to get the right heart shaped fit. So he cut a block of styrofoam into the heart shape then shaved down the top to make it smooth. The rest was up to me. I really like the way it came out and I am so glad Lisette loved it too!

A Beautiful Cupcake
In August Kim on the 123MB organized an exchange for pincushion cupcakes. You were to make a cupcake pincushion and also include a few little goodies and also your favorite cupcake recipe. I thought this was a wonderful idea so I joined. Unfortunately for me I sent out my cupcake exchange to my partner and never received one in return :(
It is a bit aggrevating for me to think about but pretty much my partner at first said she mailed it. She said she checked with the post office and they had no record of it . Said she was going to investigate it further and let me know what the outcome was. That was back in October and I haven't heard from her since. Meanwhile she was posting on the 123MB that she owed me this cupcake and she couldn't find the holders for it. And the ones she did find just "crumbled" in her hands?? Ummm Ok? lol She asked if anyone had one she could buy/trade/whatever from them. Someone stepped up and said they had one to send her. A few weeks later the person who sent her the holder asks her if she ever received it. Her reply to her was yes and that very same day I put it together and mailed it out to Lisa! REALLY???? I never received anything :(
Kim felt really bad that I got stiffed on the exchange. Actually a few people did not hold up their end of the exchange which I think is terrible! It certainly was not Kim's fault people didn't follow through.
A few weeks ago I received mail all the way from Australia. I wasn't expecting anything so I quickly opened the envelope to find this gorgeous cupcake from Kim!! The color is simply stunning in person! She did a beautiful job stitching it and her finishing was supurb!! What a wonderful surprise!!!! I think it was so very nice of Kim to make someone's wrong right :)
Thank You so VERY much Kim!! I absolutely LOVE the cupcake you made me :) I will treasure it always!
As for the person who stiffed me well she has apparently been in other exchanges with people on the 123MB and they went fine. I am not sure why she didn't follow through on this exchange. I thought about emailing her and telling her off but what is the point?
Here is the gorgeous cupcake from Kim

The pattern for the cupcake came from the book "Cupcakes, Glorious Cupcakes" by The Cat's Whiskers" http://www.thecatswhiskers.net.au/ The heart scissor fob was a freebie from http://www.xstitchhappy.com/ . I also used part of the design from the scissor fob to make the Altoid tin with her name on it.
