Music Monday - THE JOY FORMIDABLE

*For the best experience of the day, Listen to the short playlist while you read on. Trust me.
The Joy Formidable by Lindsay N. N on Grooveshark

Happy Joyous Monday Everyone! Hope everyone had a great Monday! -

*First off, Do we still love Music Monday? Should I keep this feature - I need your thoughts!

Secondly, I was introduced to this new group recently and they have become another favorite. I had the chance to see them in Concert on Saturday at the Masquerade in Atlanta with some awesome people and pretty much had the time of my life.

This Week:
The Joy Formidable

This Welsh group has not only been gaining momentum in the UK but in the US as well. The Alternative-Indie Rock group will seriously rock your face off with their amazing sound and talent. Ritzy - Lead vocals and guitar is seriously one awesome chick. I have never seen a woman of this caliber rock out and hold her own like she does among some of the best guitarists out there. She's incredible. And then there's Justin - The ever so talented drummer that is just jaw droppingly talented with insane rhythm and beats that just makes the overall sound bad ass. Mixed with Rhydian on bass, the overall sound is empowering, feel good, different, and refreshing. The Joy Formidable's pure energy on stage and in song will linger for days. Do yourself a favor and check them out.

Music Monday - Band Of Skulls

*For an awesome experience, take a LISTEN while you read/browse along
Band of Skulls by Lindsay N. N on Grooveshark

Sorry for the late installment of Music Monday... But I wanted to wait until AFTER I attended this awesome concert last night.

And it was probably one of the best shows/ concerts I have ever been to. Wow. I was lucky that they played at a smaller venue in Atlanta - The Variety Playhouse.

This week's Music Monday?

Band of Skulls

This English group has a Black Keys feel with an added eclectic variety that keeps my attention way longer. Their urban, rock feel is perfect for this hott weather and is just feel good all around. Their sound truly bubbles something up deep from within that brings you to close your eyes and just rock the hell out. The trio each brings something unique to the table. Whether its a perfect, non-overpowering beat, sultry vocals, amazing lyrics and harmony, or just the amazing guitar - this band is a favorite. So please do yourself a favor and check them out.

Music Monday - Sleigh Bells

Happy Monday all you amazing people. So please let me start off by saying THANK YOU for all of your comments all the time. I. Love. Them. I am also super excited to bring today's Music Monday.

Please Meet - Sleigh Bells- You should also listen to the first video as you scroll down for a purely awesome experience.

This duo is the essence of Rock and Roll and exudes an air of awesomeness, eccentric glam, and hottness. Yes, I said hottness. Their incredibly different styled talent is a wave of fresh goodness to the eardrums. Thank you for making me feel like a Rock Star Sleigh Bells as I listen to your music. Their style reminds me a lot of Shiny Toy Guns with a bit more BOOM.

"Based in Brooklyn, NY, Sleigh Bells is the musical collaboration of Derek E. Miller (songwriter, guitarist, producer) and Alexis Krauss (vocalist, lyricist).
The two met and formed in 2008, when Miller was waiting tables on Alexis and her mother at a neighborhood Brazilian restaurant. When Miller mentioned that he was looking for a female vocalist for a new musical project, Krauss’s mother immediately volunteered her daughter."

"In the Spring of 2010, Sleigh Bells signed to M.I.A.’s label N.E.E.T. That year, Sleigh Bells released their debut full-length album entitled Treats. The album’s immediate popularity and the band’s reputation as an energetic live act have helped solidify the duo’s widespread popularity. Amidst blown-out drum beats, fuzzed guitars and synth-pop sensibilities, Krauss balances each song with a voice that is both forceful and elegant."

Hope you all enjoy this awesome duo and become some lifetime followers of their talent.

Music Monday - Jason Reeves

Hello love birds. So please let me say sorry for my absense lately. I honestly just needed a breather from the blog world where I felt like way to much of time was being consumed in. But I am back and bringing you a Music Monday.
Today's artist is one of my fave fave faves and I just HOPE you have heard of him. I first heard him in college during a Yoga class and his lyrics and voice instantly stole my heart.

Jason Reeves

Jason has the most pure and honest lyrics. They truly just speak to you and grab ahold of your soul bringing out that desire of love and joy. His soulful voice is easy to listen to and soulful - not to mention, just everything about him screams sexy. His easy going style will put you in just the right mood, everytime. He is good friends with and does a lot of writing and performing with Colbie Cailat -  And this pair teamed up ='s the perfect love song. Please go check him out here.

Music Monday - Mat Kearney

Why hello! I hope everyone has had a great Thursday so far. Its about to get a tad better. Today is an honorary Monday as we are posting Music Monday today. I hope you don't mind, I was just so excited to do the Giveaway earlier this week.

For those of you who are new, this blog is home to the ORIGINAL Music Monday where I post and share a different artist or band each week to give them a little more recognition. I noticed a while back that there were a ton of posts about fashion, home, beauty... but not much about music, which happens to be a big part of my life. I sometimes get into my own bubble of music and forget the many different genres out there. So here I look for upcoming or "new to me" musicians and try and share them with you. I am also up for any suggestions.

This week's artist:

Mat Kearney

Mat has an incredibly hip talent mixed with an amazing, smooth voice. His range of voice is not only impressive, but entertaining as well. He writes touching lyrics that seem to trigger that heartaching feeling that tells you he understands the mood or situation you are going through.

Music Monday - Massive Attack

Hey everyone! Sorry I am so late posting Music Monday, but today has been non stop. So here I am, writing in the too early hours of the morning because I can't sleep. I am going to be brief with today's featured group.

Massive Attack:

Massive Attack are an English DJ and trip hop duo from Bristol, England consisting of Robert "3D" Del Naja and Grant "Daddy G" Marshall. Working with co-producers, as well as various session musicians and guest vocalists, they make some incredible records and tour live.
I will admit, some of their music is hit or miss with me, but when it hits, it hits hard. They have a ridiculously different style of music that is enthralling, haunting, and mysterious. I love it. So take a listen and release yourself into thier art form of music as I find myself doing.

Music Monday - Jaymee Dee

Hey There! Happy Martin Luther King Day all!

Let me please start off this Monday by telling you how excited I am to share this artist with you for Music Monday. She is gorgeous, talented, and a HUGE upcoming deal. I hope. The point of Music Monday is to bring just a little more recognition to some awesome artists. Especially up and coming ones like this. So please, please please go check her out.

Who am I talking about you ask?

Jayme Dee

Jaymee has the most chilling soulful voice that is absolutely mesmerizing. She can take a song and completely make it her own. She started off by doing covers and is starting to release her own stuff (Listen here!). I can listen to her for hours. I love her self written "bio" :

"Hi! I’m Jayme. Bio’s ordinarily bore me so if you don’t mind, I’ll spare you the drabness and try to maintain a certain level of wittiness along the way ;)
I enjoy long walks in South Central Los Angeles. Since I attend the University Of Southern California, I am lucky enough to roam the streets so close to my abode. Might I add, I keep pepper spray and a pocket knife on me at all times.
I hate cats. Sorry for all you cat enthusiasts who build shrines for your felines but I just don’t like them. They are sneaky, conniving, mini lions I tell you.
My guitar is my best friend. But really. I have no friends other than my guitar.
Amy Winehouse is my idol. Except for the cocaine addiction, binge drinking, rehab, tattoo’s, abusive relationships, jail time, etcetera. Other than that, she’s great!
I don’t like flowers. or nail salons. or pink. yuck.
I would kill a man for anything chocolate. A day without chocolate is a day without sunshine. When no one understands me, chocolate is there to listen.
I love initiating awkward situations. They make me feel happy for some obscure, unknown reason.
My favorite food (other than chocolate, but that is more like an element necessary for life) is watermelon. If you’re thirsty, it quenches. If you’re hungry, it fulfills. What a perfect combination. I think that sums it up."

So watch some videos below of her awesome talent and maybe go look her up
