Totally Gorjuss 81 Water, Water.
Time for another challenge over at Totally Gorjuss. This week our theme is "water, water." We'd like to see something to do with water on your card or project. I have to admit I struggled with this one! But when I looked at my stamps I found one that seems to fit the theme perfectly.

Ribbon Girl :- Pinks & Lilacs.

The Pink Elephant :- Favourite colour combo, a flower, patterned paper and crinkle ribbon.

I think a lot of you liked our "not square" challenge last week. Remember to pop over to Totally Gorjuss to see who won and also to check out the amazing cards my talented teamies have made this week. This week we are sponsored by Simon Says Stamp. And you know what that means! Lots of lovely stash to choose from.
Nearly forgot you can find my candy Here.
Thanks for looking and enjoy your weekend.

WRI Show Stuff!
Sorry this is such a bad photo but I think this bracelet is a bit sparkly to photograph. It was highly commended on Saturday so I was quite pleased as it was a bit of a last minute effort and I haven't done much jewellery making.
This one's a bit cheeky. The category was a crochet article in 20 cotton. The flower is from a pattern for a table centre. Probably no-one uses these nowadays except older people. I stuck a brooch back on it and transformed it into a brooch! I felt a bit bad about being placed third for it on Saturday.
These are my 3 bookmarks using different crafts. The crochet one is completely my invention! I used a different kind of crochet cotton from my usual and its a bit floppy. You might be able to see that it says "My Book" on it. The beaded one is a kit I bought and I'm quite pleased I managed to add the beads without too much hassle. The third is made using one of my favourite Hero Arts stamps. I stamped again on patterned paper and stuck the patterned flowers on flat. Since it's a bookmark I didn't think 3d flowers would be a good idea. I noticed at the show that some people had decoupage etc on their bookmarks but I thought that would be a waste of time as it would only get flattened or knocked off. I was also 3rd for the bookmarks!
This card has already been shown on my blog but I didn't have time to make one specially for the show. It was unplaced. The judges seemed to prefer cards with die cut decoupage or peeloffs! Or both.
We also had a category where each WRI has to make 6 articles following a set theme. This year it was "A Masked Ball". I can honestly say it was the worst theme we have ever had. I hadn't the faintest idea where to start. One of the others made a mask so I tried to copy the shape for my card. I had to draw it freehand as I couldn't find any stamps. Well I could but I didn't want to spend a lot of money buying stamps that would be no use to me lol! The mask was stripey and trimmed with red with added sequins. And feathers! I achieved the stripey effect by drawing black lines and adding glittery lines and then outlining in red glitter. I also added clear jewels at each side. I wish I had taken a photo of the table. We were unplaced but we think we might have been quite close to a place. Our colour co-ordination was really good and our flowers were really good this year. The ladies who judged our mini show last night thought our co-operative table was very good!!
Now I have a card that I've made for some challenges. It's quite plain so I think it would even do for a male card.
Thanks for looking and I'll try to be a better blogger next week and visit my favourite blogs.

Unfortunately I don't have any of their lovely stamps but I do have some of their gorgeous papers so I've used them.

Corners cut with EK Success punch.
Nesties, pearls and ribbon.
I'd like to enter the Lili of the Valley challenge as I used their sketch.
The Pink Elephant :- Ribbon and Sparkles.
Craft Your Days Away :- Things with Wings.
Crafty Creations :- Butterflies.

If you've got time do please tell me what you think of my little card and I'm sure my talented teamies would like to hear from you too.

2nd Post Today.
This afternoon I have been making a card for a few challenges. I think I might make a couple of cards and then get on with my DT cards so that I've got them done in plenty of time!
I followed this nice simple sketch from The Pink Elephant challenge and ended up with a Christmas card! I stamped the bell and the holly on white card and then stamped them again on gold and white respectively and the clapper on red. I won these stamps ages ago when Kath had some blog candy and at last I've managed to use them. I decoupaged the bell, the clapper and the holly. Please don't ask why I decoupaged the holly, it nearly drove me loopy. Ever tried to cut out something as small and awkward as this? Believe me don't even go there lol!!
I also used Nesties, a Martha Stewart punch, Promarkers, the Cuttlebug snowflakes embossing folder and Stickles. The DP is Cosmo Cricket - Jolly by Golly and the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards and it is edged with a gold inkpad.
I'm going to enter the following challenges:-
Pollycraft :- Red and white.
Creative Card Crew :- Punch it.
Simon Says Stamp :- Punch it.
ABC Christmas challenge :- B for bells plus glitter.
Fussy and Fancy :- Winter - Christmas ok?
Daring Cardmakers :- What's the point?
I might be pushing my luck with the Daring Cardmakers challenge but the holly has points and if you like so do some of the snowflakes! I've kept the card quite simple as it is quite a small card and I think it would be a bit crowded if I had added anything else to it.
And that's it really, nothing else I can say about it really. I'm off to see if I can do anything else before I "need" to do my ironing.

Fast Card.
After finishing the dreaded ironing, checking my emails and favourite blogs I then faffed about for ages trying to decide what sketch to use for a few challenges. I think I'm still a bit overexcited about my new DT place lol!
I made this card very quickly in the end as I was running out of time! I'm going to enter the following challenges with it:-
Creative Card Crew :- Distressing.
Creative Inspirations Sunday Challenge :- Distressing.
Simon Says Stamp challenge :- Shabby chic, distressing.
A Spoon Full of Sugar :- 3DPs, 1 ribbon, 3 flowers and 3 buttons.
Allsorts :- Brown and pink.
Quixotic :- Judy's wonderful sketch.
I used:-
DP - Basic Grey
Image - Stampendous
Sentiment and card candy - Craftwork Cards.
Colouring - Whispers pens.
Flowers and ribbon from stash.
I should also say that I distressed the edges of the DPs and edged them and the sentiment with Distress Ink in walnut stain.
I think that's all I can say about this card. Feel free to leave me a comment then I know if I have made a complete mess or not LOL!!

Tigger!
I think this could be a birthday card for a child although I have to admit to having a soft spot for Winnie the Pooh and his friends lol! Not sure if I like the card very much though!
I stamped the image twice and layered it with sticky pads for a bit of dimension. I coloured it with Promarkers and also coloured some card candy to match. I embossed some core'dinations Black Magic card with the cuttlebug and distressed it to show up the sentiments on it. My part circles are not very good because I'm not very good when it comes to drawing round plates lol! The DP is both sides of a piece of Bo Bunny paper. I finished off with some card candy from Craftwork Cards and some matching ribbon. Think that's all I can say about this card.
Thanks for looking and I'd love to hear what you think of this card.

The Last Two.
I've been at work every day and just need to survive till 12.30 tomorrow and that will be me till next Tuesday afternoon. Next week will be better cos I'll just have Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning as my colleague will be back. Even better since I've done Tuesday morning and then Thursday this week she will do the next Monday (4th Jan)for me. In Scotland we should have 2 Bank hols in January but we were given the choice of 2nd off and work 4th or work 2nd and 4th off and the preferred option was back to work on the 4th. The Post Office excuse for doing us out of a holiday is so that the network is all the same. It's never been the same before and it's never bothered anyone before. It'll be interesting to see what they do next year!!
I'm waffling! Below is the very quick card I made for my son. One of my favourite Penny Black images, my favourite Cuttlebug snowflake, Martha Stewart snowflakes, card candy and sentiment from Craftwork Cards, MME DP and stickles. I stickled the hats and just realised that I forgot to do the snow under the sledge. I've done it now!! Lastly this is the special card I made for my husband. He gave me a great big soppy card and I don't think I can compete with that so this is what he is getting LOL!! I think this Penny Black image is really cute and I love this gorgeous DP from Fancy Pants. I have used my favourite snowflakes again and this very useful card candy. The image is coloured with Promarkers and the sentiment is from Penny Black too. I bought the lovely snowflake charm from Quixotic Paperie. I got some lovely charms there for other occasions too - you should have a look. Elaine has some great goodies - I never have a look without buying something. The prices are good and you get great service.

White Card
I have not used a sketch for this one as I just meant to do something plain but of course I couldn't help myself I had to add snowflakes, card candy, ribbon and buttons!
I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the front of my card. Then I used nesties to cut a scalloped circle and stamped this cute Penny Black image which I coloured with Promarkers. I added some card candy from Craftwork Cards. I added my favourite cuttlebug snowflake and Martha Stewart snowflake, both cut from glitter card. The sentiment is also from Craftwork Cards. I finished off by tying some white ribbon round the card and adding a button on top of the knot and another to the large snowflake. And that's it!
I think it will fit a few challenges.
Daring Cardmakers :- White with a hint of colour.
Allsorts :- Buttons.
Sophisticat challenge :- Snowflakes and sparkle.
The Pink Elephant :- Colour with your favourite medium - I used Promarkers.
Creative Card Crew :- Christmas.
I really quite like a white card with just embossing for texture and I think I might make a few more variations on this one.
I have another card to post so I will be back in a little while when I've taken a photo of it.

Blue Christmas.
By the time I got back to it I realised that it was too late for the Colour Create challenge which is for blue, silver and white this time. Not to worry it is always another Christmas card.
I followe the fabby sketch from Friday Sketchers. The lovely Anya image is coloured with Promarkers and stickles used on her muff, edge of coat, boots and scarf. The sentiment and the image are both edged with silver. The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.
Other challenges:-
Paperplay 2 papers, 1 ribbon and 3 buttons.
Anyone for Anya something round - buttons.
Pile it on 3 flowers and 5 pearls.
Creative Card Crew strings attached -silver thread with charm.
Secret Crafter seasons - Winter.
Hope I've got these right! Let me know what you think, if you've got time to leave a comment I can pop over to your blog and see what you've been doing.

Now I need my coffee and bed!!!

Another Christmas Card.
Isn't this a great sketch from Truly Scrumptious and I even managed to do some doodling on it. I coloured the lovely winter Anya from the Greetings Farm with Promarkers. Isn't she lovely? I used some gorgeous Christmas DP from Bo Bunny - I love this paper. I decoupaged Anya's muff, earmuffs, pompoms of scarf, hem of coat and top of her boots and stickled them all too. I added some strips of ribbon and topped them with some buttons from my stash. Nearly forgot to mention that I had doodled round the image for the Truly Scrumptious challenge.
I hope you like this card and I have a few challenges to enter with it.
Truly Scrumptious:- Sketch and doodling.
A Spoon Full of Sugar:- Christmas.
Pile it on:- 3d.
Creative Card Crew:- Sparkle.
Charisma Cardz:- Decoupage.
Simon Says Stamp Challenge:- Red and green.
Anyone for Anya:- You're Anya.
I'm off to make tea now and sort out my washing to iron later (or maybe tomorrow!). See you all later if I can get time to check out some blogs.

Soon be the Weekend!
I used this great sketch from Sketch Saturday. It was really easy to use - even for me! I've used the lovely lemonade papers from Basic Grey and for the other part of their challenge I put some of the dark pink through the bug in the divine swirls folder. I used nesties to cut out the ovals, coloured one of my new Penny Black stamps with Promarkers and used a Sakura clear gel glitter pen on the hearts. The Pile it on challenge wants flowers so I punched out some with my EK Success punches and finished them off with stick on pearls. To complete the Penny Black challenge I add a piece of paper lace and buttons from my stash for the Whimsy challenge. The edges of the background paper have been distressed with Distress Inks for the http://cupcakecraftchallenges.blogspot.com/. I added faux stitching for the Simon Says Stamp challenge. And it looks like a girl's card so I can enter the Secret Crafter Saturday challenge. If I can get round to decorating the inside I could also enter the Creative Card Crew challenge too.
Not sure what work will be like this afternoon.....! My colleague just phoned to say that the printer wasn't working and the engineer had until Monday to come out to fix it!!! There are so many things you can't do in the Post Office if you don't have a printer. I guess I could have a quiet afternoon if the engineer doesn't appear lol!! I should be so lucky. Good thing it's Friday and not Monday or we would be really popular. On the bright side I am off tomorrow and I'm going to a crop at my local craft shop and I'm also off on Monday - just because I want a day off.
So I'm off to post this now and see if I can do some housework before I leave for work.
Hope you like and please let me know what you think if you have a minute to spare.
Kat x
It is now Sunday and guess who forgot to post a photo of the inside of the card!!! I'm probably too late now but here it is anyway. I'm never sure what to do with insides. Some are easier than others - can be difficult if you have a 6x6 pad and only two sheets of each paper. Never mind her it is.

Fed Up Working!
Monday, 14 September 2009
Second Post today.
Challenges for this card:-
Passion for Promarkers:- Sandstone and blue pearl.
A Spoon Full of Sugar:- Sketch.
Creative Card Crew:- Fairy nice day.
Paper Blooms:- Bling.
Stamp Something:- Favourite embellishments - flowers.
I'm off to post this now and maybe get an update on blogs and challenges. What I really ought to do is finish my ironing and phone my Auntie to see how her birthday went. She's fantastic for 93. I hope if I have to get really old that I'm like her. I don't think she crochets now but she still knits and does Sudoku and crosswords and gets out a lot and lives by herself. Not to mention if you phone her you can be on the phone for about an hour.
Have a nice evening and I'm off to enter some challenges!
