Looks Cold Outside!

Good morning everyone, hope you're all having a lovely weekend. I don't know about where you are but here in coastal Aberdeenshire it's very, very cold! Yesterday it was very cold and windy but I went to a crop after work so I was nice and cosy indoors. We had yummy shortbread, tablet and cakes that some of the girls had made. We finished off with a Chinese takeaway and then a Secret Santa. I got a pad of beautiful First Edition papers so I'm a very happy bunny.

I managed to finish 3 cards and added inserts to about 30 cards so now I have 80 cards completely finished. I just need to check how many I really need. I also need to think up some special cards for my family and finish the gift card holders I'm making. Not to mention that one of my nephews is 18 on Christmas Eve so I need a special card for him.

My favourites this year seem to be Penny Black images and LOTV images and cute squares. Here's one I made with a cute square.

I used :-
Image :- LOTV cute square.
Sentiment :- Hero Arts.
Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.
Card Candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Corner die :- Memory Box
Ribbon and Glamour Dust.

I'm entering the following challenges :-
Ready Teddy Go :- Anything Goes.
ABC :- E is for embossing.
Colour Create :- Red, white and green.

Lucky me I have ironing to do today but then again I could leave it till this evening so that I can do something more interesting this afternoon!

Thanks for looking and I'll see you all later.

Colour Create Challenge 82 - Burgundy, Gold, Green & Cream.

Hi everyone, I'm still struggling to get anything done this week. I'm still training my new assistant so I had to be at work all day today. I've got my fingers crossed for my day off on Thursday. I had the day off on Monday after being away at the SECC on Sunday but I managed to achieve absolutely nothing  craft-wise!!

I'm posting a card I made on Saturday but didn't manage to get posted due to one thing and another. I was inspired to make this card and another one after seeing a lovely card on Aud's blog on Saturday.

 I used :-
Poinsettia :- Nestie die.
DP :- GCD Studios.
Sentiment and card candi :- Craftwork Cards.
Ribbon, gold seed beads in centre of poinsettia (although they look red here!)

I'm entering the following challenges :-
Colour Create :- Burgundy, gold, green and cream with the added option of dimension.

I'm off to try to catch up with some blogging now, I haven't had time to see what everyone is up to since Saturday.

Thanks for looking.

Mudpie's Cake!

Hi everyone, me again. Most unusual for me to post twice in the one day!! If you want to see my DT card for Totally Gorjuss please scroll down. I thought I'd show you another of the cards I made the other day. I was thinking about the House Mouse & Friends challenge which is use a recipe or a recipe card and thinking I couldn't enter but when I checked my stamps I found this image! Cute isn't it?

I used :-
Image :- House Mouse - Mudpie's Cake.
DP :- First Edition - Summer Breeze.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Sentiment :- Hero Arts.
Card Candy :- Craftwork Cards.
Retro flower punch, pearls, ribbon.

I'm entering the following challenges too :-
Creative Card Crew :- Anything Goes.
Stamp Something :- Anything Goes.
Colour Create :- Pink, brown, cream, white.
Stampin' for the Weekend :- Tickled Pink.
Craft Your Days Away :- Make Your Own Flowers.

I think that's all lol! I've still got another 2 cards that I never got round to posting but I'll do that soon.

I went to a crop today at my local craft shop. We have one every 4 weeks and there can be up to 11 of us but for one reason and another there were only 4 of us this time. Funnily enough we all seemed to get lots done today. We might tell the others that they're a bad influence lol! In truth we probably did as much chatting as usual. I think I was just a bit more organised than usual and I was pretty chuffed to get five Christmas cards made!

Thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Totally Gorjuss 39 - Thinking of You.

Time for another challenge at Totally Gorjuss. Thanks to everyone who entered last week. We had some amazing entries for our water, water challenge last week. I hope you'll want to enter our challenge this week.

This week our challenge is "Thinking of You." This can interpreted as a Sympathy card or just a card to let someone know you are just thinking of them.

I used :-
Image:- Penny Black from the flowers and wishes clear set.
Sentiment :- Hero Arts.
DP :- Basic Grey and Wild Rose Studio.
Colouring :- Promarkers and Distress Inks.
Card Candy :- Craftwork Cards.
Pearls :- Hobby House.
Martha Stewart butterfly punch.
I'm entering a few challenges with this card:-
Basic Grey :- Gingham.
Charisma :- Pink.
Colour Create:- Warm pink, chocolate brown and white.
Paperplay :- Sketch.
Creative Inspirations challenge blog :- something old from stash - I've had the pink, white and brown Basic Grey DP for a while.
What do you think girls? Is it suitable for a Sympathy card? I think it's also light enough to be just a card to get in touch with a friend. It's a useful sort of card to have around as a just in case card. I hope you'll want to join in with us again this week. I'm looking forward to seeing your new creations. If you've got time to leave me a comment I'd be really pleased. I'm always encouraged by what you have to say about my efforts and I'm sure my talented teamies would be pleased to hear from you too.

Enjoy your weekend, hope it's good whatever you do.

What a Sweetie!

Good evening girls, I haven't had time to make anything today....yet but here is a card I made yesterday. I love this Tilda, she looks so sweet, doesn't she? I haven't been very good at entering the Just Magnolia challenge for a few weeks, which is a pity as I love my Tildas. So this week I have taken the chance to be early for a change.

Colouring:- Promarkers.
DP:- Basic Grey.
Sentiment:- Craftwork Cards.
Roses:- Prima.
Also used:- Nellie Snellen punch, Nesties, velvet ric rac ribbon, heart charm, heart shaped jewels, red Spica glitter gel pen on hearts on dress and glimmer mist.
Think I may have overdone the Glimmer Mist, it's everywhere lol!
The other challenges I am entering are:-
Sketch and Stash :- Sketch and I used some new flowers.
Colour Create :- Red, white, chocolate and pink with the addition of silver and hearts.
Cute Card Thursday :- In the name of love.
Susie's Sassy Challenge :- Hearts and flowers.
Daring Cardmakers :- Have a heart.
Fussy and Fancy :- Dazzle us.
Paperplay :- Birthday card for someone special.
Pile it on :- Flowers.
I think that's the lot. Now will I try to make something or do my ironing? Decisions, decisions!

So Cute!

Good evening girls I hope you have had a lovely weekend. It has been a lovely sunny, frosty day here. I made this card last night for a few challenges. I love Henry Mouse from Whiff of Joy, he is so cute. I still have special cards to do for my family but I like the colours of this one so much that I think I might keep it for my daughter and son-in-law. I already have one each for Poppy and Oliver so I just have 3 more special cards to make!

I bought this gorgeous glittery Bo Bunny DP last Saturday and it has taken me a week to use any of it. That's quite quick isn't it? I also used my favourite Cuttlebug snowflake and Martha Stewart snowflake, cut from glitter card, spotty ribbon and a lilac jewel. The card candy coloured with Promarker and the sentiment are from Craftwork Cards>. I also need to point out that you can't see from the photo any glitter on the pompom on his hat. That is because I forgot to add it before I took the photo. It's glittered now lol!

Do you like it? I'm really into easel cards now!! Long after everyone else. My reasoning is that I don't have to finish the inside or do an insert. I've actually made 3 more easel cards this afternoon and I've got the ideas and all the bits and pieces to put together to make another 8.

I'm entering the following challenges:-

Mojo Monday :- Sketch.
Whiff of Joy :- Whiff of Joy image and sparkle.
Creative Inspirations Wednesday Challenge :- non-traditional colours.
Colour Create :- Lilac or purple with aqua, black and white. Well they don't call me Lilackat for nothing LOL!!

Now I'm off to see how many more cards I can get made tonight. I'd really like to post tomorrow but I also need to iron so I'll just see what I can do. I can always post on Tuesday!!

Bye for now,

Kat xx

Blue Christmas.

Hi girls, I started making a card this afternoon but didn't make much progress before tea - thanks Tesco!

By the time I got back to it I realised that it was too late for the Colour Create challenge which is for blue, silver and white this time. Not to worry it is always another Christmas card.

I followe the fabby sketch from Friday Sketchers. The lovely Anya image is coloured with Promarkers and stickles used on her muff, edge of coat, boots and scarf. The sentiment and the image are both edged with silver. The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

Other challenges:-

Paperplay 2 papers, 1 ribbon and 3 buttons.
Anyone for Anya something round - buttons.
Pile it on 3 flowers and 5 pearls.
Creative Card Crew strings attached -silver thread with charm.
Secret Crafter seasons - Winter.

Hope I've got these right! Let me know what you think, if you've got time to leave a comment I can pop over to your blog and see what you've been doing.

White on White Challenges.

Another Christmas card. I made this last night but between work and a cardmaking session at a friend's house this is the first chance I have had to post it.

I followed the great sketch from the Mojo Monday challenge. I coloured this sweet Penny Black image and the Penny Black Saturday challenge and the Colour Create challenge both want white on white with colour only on the image. Then I thought it would fit the Charisma Cardz challenge which is no backing paper. And the Sophisticat challenge which is for buttons and ribbon.

I have use my favourite Cuttlebug snowflake and the new snowflake embossing folder I got at the SECC recently plus my old favourite swiss dots. I also use my new labels nine nestie for the image and the sentiment.

This second is a very simple made in a few minutes card I made late last night. This was inspired by a card that Clare (littlebear) posted yesterday to use up some scraps. I thought I would see what I could make to use up some scraps too. I love the idea but I'm not keen on the flower I put on it! I was in a hurry though lol! I used some paper from last year plus a piece of sticky ribbon and three flowers and a brad and finished off with a sentiment stamped straight onto the card and some sticky jewels.

Must go now, challenges to enter before the deadline.

See you soon,

Kat xx

Hot Pink, Dusky Pink and Ice Chocolate.

I need to post this very quickly as the deadline for the Colour Create challenge is 6pm! I used this fabby sketch and this gorgeous image from Whiff of Joy. I used my Promarkers to colour the image. All shapes have been cut out with my nesties. I stamped some swirls in dark brown on the floral paper behind the image with a Basic Grey swirl stamp and the papers are also from Basic Grey. I added some flowers and ribbon from by stash. I love the pearls on the flowers. I love the colours in this card especially the hot pink I used for matting. Luckily I had bought the new Promarker colours from Joanna Sheen as one of the new colours is Hot Pink.

I have a few challenges to enter with this card but I will have to come back later to finish this post. I am expecting a Tesco delivery and I need to make tea and go out. It is WRI night and for my sins I am the treasurer lol!!

Challenges for this card:-

Colour Create challenge :-Hot pink, dusky pink and ice chocolate plus pearls and swirls.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge :- Celebration.

Whiff of Joy challenge :- Sketch.

Whimsy challenge :-Sugar and Spice.

Crafty Cardmakers :- Ribbons/fibres.

Passion for Promarkers :- Any colours plus 3 different shapes, 2 papers and 1 ribbon.

Creative Card Crew :- Celebration.

Bye for now girls and hope to see you later. I have a card to post for the Sugar Bowl challenge.

Halloween....

Well this is something I have never done before! This is the first time I have ever made a Halloween card. Not sure how I came to decide on a Halloween card but here it is. I think it may have been because I wanted to take part in the white, black and one other colour from Pile it On and Pollycraft. I also wanted to do the Just Magnolia challenge and Halloween seemed the only theme that fitted. I don't usually think of Tilda in terms of black and white but I thought one of the Halloween Tilda's would fit the bill.
I used the great sketch from Creative Inspirations and coloured this lovely Tilda with her spider's web and broomstick with my Promarkers. I used the lovely Halloween papers from MME. The black paper says "BOO"!! I also used some Core dinations whitewash paper which I put through the Cuttlebug in the divine swirls folder and then sanded to show the underlying green it has also been distressed and inked with black and matted onto black. The black "BOO" paper is matted onto green which has been distressed and inked with black. The image has been edged with lime green Promarker (which unfortunately looks a bit yellow) and then inked with black as has the sentiment. I added some leaves that I cut out with a Martha Stewart punch. The green ric rac, green pearls, cat charm and eyelets are from my stash.

The challenges I am entering are:-

Creative Inspirations Wednesday Challenge:- Sketch plus brads or eyelets.
Colour Create:- Neon green and black plus leaves and charms.
Just Magnolia 22:- Embossing.
Cupcake Craft Challenge:- Pearls and Swirls.
Pile it On:- White, black and one colour.
Pollycraft Challenge:- Black, white and one colour.

I've just realised I will need to take another photo of this card in the morning as there is something missing lol!! Trust me, I'm to busy thinking I need to get this posted to enter Creative Inspirations challenge before it is too late and then get my Tesco order finshed for tomorrow. I also have a card to finish before I go to my friend's house with it tomorrow. It would be finished but she decided to stamp a greeting inside and I made a mess of it so now I need to decorate the inside so as to hide the mess. In spite of the fact that rock a blocks are supposed to make a perfect image I can usually make a mess with them.

I'd best go now and do the things I really need to and maybe I'll be back tomorrow with something else. With my track record with photos I may not be back till Thursday!!!

Wednesday evening - I've changed the photos now.

Lots of Challenges....

This is a quick card I made today for the Papertake Weekly challenge. I used my Promarkers to colour the cute Whiff of Joy bear image. The papers are some of my favourites from MME. As usual my nesties were used to cut out the squares and rectangles. Ribbon is from my stash.
I made this yesterday evening and ended up doing my ironing very very late. I think it will fit sevenchallenges!! I coloured the lovely Edwin image from Magnolia with my Promarkers. The background paper is from Basic Grey cupcake pad. Other papers just scraps from my stash. Suit edged with silver Promarker and one set of jewels coloured with silver Promarker too.
I think it fits:-
Pile it On - Boy.
Colour Create - Blue, sand, black and silver -silver jewels and edges of suit.
Cute Card Thursday - At the beach.
Spoon Full of Sugar - Sketch.
Just Magnolia - Friendship.
Secret Crafter - Fancy corners. ( Not that fancy since it is a boy card.)
Stamp Something -something from summer vacation.
I might be pushing my luck with some of this but there is silver if you look closely and I have added corners!!
Thanks for looking and please feel free to tell me what you think.

Three Challenges.

I think this card will do for three challenges. I used the great sketch from Saturday Sketchers and turned it round 90 degrees. I watercoloured this lovely Whiff of Joy image and strawberries. I glazed the strawberries to make them look even more yummy! The Cute Card Thursday challenge is to include fruit and the Colour Create challenge is pink, orange and green this week. I couldn't believe when I saw the colours for Colour Create because these Basic Grey papers are just perfect colourwise. I ended up doing some of this card at work and finishing it off tonight. I was lucky enough to get a photo so now I just need to go and enter these challenges before I forget.
Did anyone see Marlene's gorgeous cards in the September issue of "Cardmaking and Papercraft." She has excelled herself. The colours, images and papers are just lovely. What a talented lady.
I'm going off now to enter these challenges and get some more crafting done as I am off to my daughter's new house tomorrow to see if there is anything I can do to help. They have successfully moved today but I'm sure there is still work to do tomorrow.
Have a nice weekend everyone, Kat x

Four Challenges.

This is a very simple card but it is a different shape, not rectangular or square so I am entering it for the Stamptacular Sunday challenge.

I haven't achieved as much as I hoped today and I am going out tonight - to make cards at a friend's house. Next week I am not going to be a very good blogger as my colleague is on holiday and I have to work full time. It is only one full day and two half days extra but it means I do not get my day off!
I have not got so much done as I hoped because I have messed around for ages this morning trying to find suitable blues to make this card (below). I don't have a lot of blue, not because I don't like blue but just that I am very picky about whether patterns and colours fit together. I decided to use the sketch from Sketch Saturday. I wasn't sure if I would manage to get the left hand shaped piece to work but I am reasonably happy with it. I used the Paisley Cuttlebug folder to emboss a piece of blue core'dinations card. The paler blue is an anonymous scrap! The base card is a dark blue pearlised card from my local paper mill. The edge of the core'dinations is distressed and edged with blue. The lovely Daisy image from Sugar Nellies was watercoloured and the edge of the card distressed and edged with Antique Linen Distress Ink. The image was then mounted on core'dinations that had been through the Cuttlebug in the Swiss Dots folder. A lace strip was added to the left hand side and another piece under the image. I edged the flowers with a China Blue Promarker and added a blue brad. I was just about to add some blue jewels when I realised that if I added eyelets instead I could enter it in the Cute Card Thursday challenge! If the eyelets look wonky it is probably because they are LOL. I'm not sure if the card counts as "vintage" for the Colour Create challenge ? I'm not usually into vintage but I hope it will do.
Now I need to go and see if my chicken curry is ready. Thursday night is curry night in this house!
Thanks for looking and hope you like my efforts. Kat x

Whiff of Joy and Colour Create.

I coloured this beautiful Whiff of Joy image, which is one of my favourites, with Promarkers. I used a pale green base card and layered Sandylion, Basic Grey and The Paper Company papers. Iused my Cuttlebug and Nestabilities to cut out the ovals. The plain ovals are inked round the edge (maybe not very obvious) with yellow. Flowers, brad, jewels and ribbon are from my stash. I used the sketch from Whiff of Joy and the colours from Colour Create. I had a lot of bother with the colours ie choosing papers to go with the colours chosen for Colour Create. I think it came together after I coloured the image and I quite like the card now. Not my usual colours but it looks quite fresh and summery.
Hope someone likes it! Thanks for looking, Kat x
