Big Brother.

Hi everyone my broadband is being a bit iffy tonight so I'll be brief. I've just finished my Tesco shopping and that was not a lot of fun with the connection being so slow.

Recently the last of the three girls at work who became a Granny within a few weeks had a new granddaughter. So her little grandson became a big brother. I thought it would be nice to make a card specially for him. So this is it.

I used :-
Image :- Sugar Nellies.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
DP :- Craft Creations.
Sentiment :- Hero Arts and Stampin' Up!
Card Candy :- Craftwork Cards.

Challenges :-
Sugar Bowl :- Anything Goes.
Stampin for the Weekend :- Anything Goes.

I'm off to catch up with my DT work now.

Thanks for looking and all your lovely comments.

Totally Gorjuss 152 - Anything Goes.

Good morning everyone, thank goodness it's Saturday! I've had a busy week lol! On Monday evening after being at work all day I was at a quiz that had been organized for all the WRIs in Aberdeenshire. It was good fun and while we didn't win anything, not even a raffle prize, we weren't far behind the winners. On Tuesday after work I had to have a quick tea and go to a quiz organized by a WRI in our group. This time we were third only half a point behind the second placed team and two of us won a raffle prize. And even better we had lovely sandwiches, scones, pancakes, cakes and traybakes. On my precious day off I had to go to the dentist for a check up. In the afternoon I had been roped into helping out at Messy Church which is a new initiative for us. Children come along with a parent or some other adult. They get a snack and then there are a range of activities like painting, crafts, board games, books etc. Then there is a short bible story and maybe a song. We ended up with sandwiches, carrots, peppers, cherry tomatoes, crisps, juice and cake. We were pretty chuffed with the turnout and even though it is a church initiative no-one mentions coming to church or Sunday school. The idea is really just to get parents and children together with others and socialise, play and eat together. It was busy but fun! In the evening I went out to craft with friends. Tomorrow I have a crop and still have to decide what to take with me.

totall
But enough waffle it's time for another challenge at Totally Gorjuss. This week we're giving you a really easy challenge. It's "Anything Goes" and we're sponsored by Joanna Sheen. Sugar Bowl 32.

Good evening everyone. I've just made this card for the Sugar Bowl challenge. I'm a bit last minute with it but not as late as I have been in the past lol! As I'm sure I've said before I don't know why I always end up at the last minute since there are two weeks to enter.

This week we can use whatever sketch we fancy from previous challenges so I've chosen to use the sketch from challenge 20.

I've used :-
DP :- K&Co.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Flowers and flat back pearls :- Prima.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.
I'm off to check out how much commenting I need to do to catch up with Just Cute Bears and Totally Gorjuss. I was trying to catch up last night after being away for 3 days without the internet but my internet connection was being very awkward. One minute I could do something the next it was acting up so I had to give up in disgust. Patience is not a strong point lol!!
Hope to see you tomorrow with something else. It's my day off and I'm always optimistic but somehow it never works out as planned.

Lilac Maggie.

Hi girls, I'm a bit late with this card for the Sugar Bowl challenge. I have been later than this though. I don't know why I'm always at the last minute because I've had two weeks to get it done! I decided tonight that I couldn't miss making a card with Judy's lovely sketch. So this is just a quick card. I thought I had left lilac behind but obviously not lol! I nearly decided to use the gorgeous papers I used yesterday and go for pink again but decided to use lilac again. I think Maggie suits lilac! Well that's my excuse.

Image :- Birthday Maggie from Sugar Nellies.
DP :- Cuddly Buddly patchwork papers.
Colouring :- Promarkers plus Sakura glitter gel pen and clear gel pen.
Sentiment and card candy :- Craftwork Cards.
Martha Stewart punch, star punch and pearls from stash.
That's the lot then. Tomorrow I have a day off and I need to get my DT cards done. Next week I am going to have to do better as we are hoping to visit my daughter and family. Really looking forward to that. Since Catriona got her new phone she's discovered that she can email photos free instead of sending them as a multimedia text so all I need to do is get round to printing them lol!!
See you tomorrow,
Kat xx

Sugar Bowl 25.

Good evening girls. Here I am at the last minute again. I've had 4 weeks to do this and here I am. My excuse is of course that I had a lot of Christmas cards to make. I was reading blogs earlier and Angela at Sparkly Cards was showing a card she had done for the Sugar Bowl challenge and I thought I would get on and get one made after tea. So here it is.

I used this lovely rabbit from Sugar Nellies, available from Funky Kits, and coloured it with Promarkers. My DP is the lovely Nana's Nursery from DCWV. I used a Martha Stewart flower punch to make flowers from the DP and the plain lilac card. The flowers are finished off with card candy from Craftwork Cards. I doodled round all the edges with a black pen. Lillian has given us a lovely sketch to work with and I wish I had been able to do it more justice. The added option is to use your favourite colour. I'm sure you can guess mine. I'm not called Lilackat for nothing!!

I have some baby cards left but they are a definite blue or pink so I thought lilac would be nice for a change! Hope you like and I'd love to read your comments if you have a minute to leave one.

I'm off to see if I can rake out my favourite cards for every month since I started blogging.

Totally Gorjuss 7 - Anything but a card.

Well girls it's Friday again and here we are with another challenge from Totally Gorjuss. This week we would like you to make "anything but a card." Following the new rules you can use any gorgeous girly stamp. But if you use a Gorjuss Girl you have two chances to win. This week our lovely sponsor is The Hobby House. So there you are - for your chance to win all you need to do is enter "anything but a card. Simple.

Ok I know this looks like a card but believe me it is a gift card holder! I made a gift card holder a while ago but I could really do with some more for my nieces and nephews.

I used the sketch from Sketch and Stash. Great sketch, really easy to use. My DP is DCWV rose tinted Christmas which I have had since last year. I coloured the lovely gorjuss Girl from Sugar Nellies with my Promarkers. I used a House Mouse "To/From" stamp inside - I just didn't ink the House Mouse LOL!! I finished off with some lace, card candy a Martha Stewart snowflake and jewels. The corners to hold the gift card were cut out using a punch.

The other challenges I'm hoping to enter are :-

Cupcake - A gift card holder.

Papertake Weekly - Christmas.

A Spoon Full of Sugar - Brown and pink.

Charisma Cardz - Christmas.

Susie's Sassy Challenge - Pink and sparkly.

Creative Card Crew - Favourite things - snowflake, jewels and card candy.

I think that's all the challenges I'm entering! Now I'm off the do the Penny Black blog hop. I've only had all week to get it done......but I have been busy with other commitments.

Have a nice weekend girls and hope to see you tomorrow.

Sugar Bowl 21

Well who's the silly person who realised at 5 to 10 that she hadn't done her card for the Sugar Bowl Challenge. Trust me, after all I've only had 2 weeks to do it. Might just make it if I enter now and then finish this post!!

Well I've entered....a bit late but better late than never and it's not midnight yet. I'm really going to have to do what I need to do and then wander round my favourite blogs lol!!

This was a great sketch from Tiets. At first I thought it was impossible to do in a short time. I probably haven't done it justice but I was in a hurry.

I used:-

DP:- MME wonderful winter - I love this paper.

Colouring:-Promarkers and Sakura stardust gel pens.

Martha Stewart snowflake punch and embossed snowflake edge punch, Nesties, gems from stash.

So that's another Christmas card for the pile. Still not a very big pile but it's growing.

Tomorrow is my day off so hopefully I'll get some time to craft.

Totally Gorjuss First DT Card.

Good morning girls. I am so nervous about my very first DT card for Totally Gorjuss. I'm so scared that everyone will think it is awful!! I've had a bit of a problem trying to get a photo of it. It has been very dull here and by the time I get home from work it is pointless to try! On Wednesday afternoon it was nice and bright but I was at a friend's house. Thursday was supposed to be nice but up until this time it has not happened. Then after a couple of unsuccessful piccies my clever clogs camera announced that it's battery was low. Immediate panic lol! Tried in the conservatory and then managed to get one outside before the camera died.

I need an 18th birthday card for my niece so I think this one will be perfect for her. Hope she likes it! I've use one of my favourite Gorjuss Girls available from Funky Kits. She has been coloured with Promarkers and her hair has been highlighted with an Inkssentials opaque white pen.

This is just a little close up of my flowers. I love these EK Success punches for making flowers. I punched out the larger size three times using the card I used for matting and once with the smaller size using the paler DP. Then just finished off with a little flat backed pearl.

As you can see I sewed round the edges with my mini sewing machine - I felt brave. I doodled round the image with an American Crafts precision pen.

Materials used:-

Sketch:- Passion for Promarkers.

DP:- Basic Grey 'bittersweet'.

Tools:- Nesties, mini sewing machine, Promarkers, EK Success punches and Inkssentials white opaque pen.

Plus flat backed pearls and jewel to finish.

I hope you like my first DT card and I also hope a lot of you very talented girls will want to join in our very first challenge over at Totally Gorjuss. You must check out the cards my lovely teamies have made - they are beautiful they are all very talented ladies. I'm really looking forward to checking out your lovely entries.

Papertake Weekly 25

This is the last one.....honest! I've use Honey with present from Sugar Nellies and the lovely DP Tis the season from Bo Bunny again. She has been coloured with Promarkers and the card is finished off with some ribbon from my stash. This is a really useful sketch from Papertake Weekly. I'm sure I will be using it again.

So that's the last of my creations from the crop. Hope you liked (some of) them. I am really enjoying the new papers I have bought this year from MME and Bo Bunny. And yesterday I bought some new DP from Fancy Pants called Christmas Magic so you can expect to see it soon!!

Best go now and quickly check how tea is getting on. Roast beef yummm.

Enjoy the last remaining little bit of your weekend.

Kat xx

Sketch and Stash 20.

Good afternoon girls, today I would like to show you the cards I finished making at the crop yesterday. This one is for Sketch and Stash Challenge#20.

I coloured the lovely Honey with Present image from Sugar Nellies with my Promarkers. The papers are the gorgeous Bo Bunny Tis the Season. I love them they are so fresh and bright. I have to confess that for some obscure reason I made her hat and scarf and glove yellow and it was horrible - totally out of place, so I went over the top with powder blue to give a green similar to the base card. Iused a new Martha Stewart snowflake punch I bought at the crop and one I already had to punch out the snowflakes from glitter card. I added some Fired Brick distress ink to the snowflakes and finished off with some ribbon from my stash. The sentiment is from Penny Black and nesties were used to cut the circles.

Back soon with another card.

Sketch Saturday 71.

Good afternoon girls - just a quick post before I make tea and go to work. I made this Christmas card for the Sketch Saturday challenge. I love this Honey with present stamp from Sugar Nellies isn't she cute and that adorable little dog awwww. I also love the flowers you can make with the Martha Stewart punches. Materials used:-
Red textured card from local paper mill.
Memento tuxedo black ink.
Promarkers.
Martha Stewart punch.
MME wonderful winter papers - all gorgeous and glittered!
Button and red string from stash.

I'm going to a crop tomorrow after work so this evening I must try to get myself organised for that lol! Last time I took loads of stuff I didn't need but forgot a couple of things I really needed. Should still have time to check out some blogs though!!

Thanks for looking and please let me know what you think. I love to visit other people's blogs and see what they are making.

A Spoon Full of Sugar 70.

Hello everyone seems like I've not got much to show for my day off! Probably spent too much time footering (faffing) about. And then it's been quite a dull day here so it was difficult to get a decent photo. At first sight I thought this lovely sketch from a Spoon Full of Sugar was a bit complicated but it was actually quite easy to work with. I used my Promarkers to colour this lovely Christmas Manga Girl from Sugar Nellies. She's really sweet isn't she? This time I used these gorgeous new papers - wonderful winter from MME. The large snowflake is from a Sizzix die and the others are from a Martha Stewart punch and another punch. The buttons are from my stash. This paper is gorgeous, all glittery and really thick and it's really easy to put the different patterns together. Now this is really unusual for me but I quite like this card lol!!

Hope some of you like it too. Please tell me what you think - is it ok? or is it just a mess?

Maybe be back later with another post if I can get another card to work out and get a half decent photo.

Die Cut Dreams DT Call.

Die Cut Dreams challenge blog are having a DT call. They are looking for two people to join their team. The call is open until midnight on Friday 25th September and the new team will be announced on Sunday evening 27th September. You have to make a "pink" card or project and post it on your blog with a link to Die Cut Dreams challenge blog and then leave a comment over on Die Cut Dreams with a link to your work. If you go over to http://diecutdreams.blogspot.com/you can read all the details of what is involved.

As you can see from the fact that the DT call ends tomorrow I was not sure about trying for the DT. But hey nothing to lose and I do like pink lol! I did think about trying it last week but with pressure of work I just didn't have the time. So I have been faffing about all morning trying to get it done.

I used the lovely sketch from http://fridaysketchersblog.blogspot.com/ and DP from DCWV. I used Promarkers, including some of the new ones, to colour this lovely Christmas Manga fairy from Sugar Nellies. Isn't she cute? I used my Martha Stewart embossed snowflake edge punch on some of the DP. I sewed round the edges of the rest of the DP. I went over the fairy's wing and the star on her wand with a Sakura clear glitter gel pen. The snowflakes were cut out using a Sizzix die for the larger one and a punch for the other two and then I edged them with a Promarker pen to match the fairy and put them in place with raised glue dots. Since they are cut out from white glitter card they have turned out a different colour!!I finished off with some brads and ribbon from my stash.

I love this fairy, she is so easy to colour. I'm not really one for using fairies a lot but this one is sweet without being too sickly! Hope you like my card and wish me luck with the DT call. I'm not that hopeful but maybe one day I will be lucky enogh to join a DT, you never know.

I'm off now to see what I can do before it is time to feed and walk the dogs and finish making our tea. It's been lovely here, hope it's been nice where you are.

Second Post today.

Me again! I used this great sketch from A Spoon Full of Sugar to make this card. The lovely fairy is from Sugar Nellies, isn't she cute? I coloured her with my Promarkers and inked round the square with sandstone Promarker. I added star shaped jewels to her dress and hair. The stars on her wand and belt are stickled and I covered her wings with a Sakura stardust gel pen. I added some gel pen to her dress and belt too. Not too much bling I hope lol!! I made the flowers from scraps of the three papers with 3 sizes of EK Success punches. Then I inked round the petals with a Promarker and added a brad to each. Nearly forgot the DP is the lovely wild asparagus from MME.Hope you like her! I was quite surprised to make two cards yesterday evening. It's wonderful how sometimes it all comes together and you can make a card in no time and other times you spend ages trying to find the right image and papers and all the extra little bits you want to add!

Challenges for this card:-

Passion for Promarkers:- Sandstone and blue pearl.
A Spoon Full of Sugar:- Sketch.
Creative Card Crew:- Fairy nice day.
Paper Blooms:- Bling.
Stamp Something:- Favourite embellishments - flowers.

I'm off to post this now and maybe get an update on blogs and challenges. What I really ought to do is finish my ironing and phone my Auntie to see how her birthday went. She's fantastic for 93. I hope if I have to get really old that I'm like her. I don't think she crochets now but she still knits and does Sudoku and crosswords and gets out a lot and lives by herself. Not to mention if you phone her you can be on the phone for about an hour.

Have a nice evening and I'm off to enter some challenges!
