Countdown to Confetti: Forever in Our Hearts & In A Jam

Welcome, 'Fetti Fans to Day 2 of the August Release for Reverse Confetti

Because there wasn't a release in July, this month is a fantastic double release,
with seven new stamps sets & twelve new Confetti Cuts!

Today, we're showcasing a wonderful sentiment set that's perfect for
creating those hard to make sympathy cards called Forever In Our Hearts
We're also introducing a sweet new set with coordinating Confetti Cuts
called In a Jam.

First up, I made a sympathy card using Forever In Our Hearts.

I wanted to keep my card simple so the focus would be on that beautiful sentiment!
I started by blending two shades of ink onto my watercolour panel
and spritzing it with water.
Then, I used a paintbrush with more water to blend them together better.

Once it was dry, I stamped my sentiment in versafine onyx black ink
several times, using my MISTI.
A few rainstones finishes it off.

Next, I used the same sentiment and made this card:

I created the background the same way that I did on my previous card.
I trimmed a piece of white cardstock and on it, I stamped my sentiment
in three different colours -- this was relatively easy to do using washi tape
to mask off my sentiment while I inked it up and my MISTI.
I added a frame that I diecut using the new All Framed Up Confetti Cuts.

I diecut a few clouds using Sun 'n Clouds Confetti Cuts.

Next, I have a card that I made using In a Jam with its coordinating Confetti Cuts: Jam Jar.

I started by blending ink onto a piece of watercolour paper and diecutting
it using the jar dies from Jam Jar Confetti Cuts.
I stamped the gingham pattern in pink using one of the stamps
from the previously released So Stripey stamp set,
which I diecut using the lid from Jam Jar Confetti Cuts.
I stamped the sentiment from In a Jam in the same colour
of pink ink twice to make it a little darker (using my MISTI) on a
Jam Jar Confetti Cuts.
I smoothed some hawaiian shores and soft stone inks onto my
background panel and added a frame using the new All Framed Up Confetti Cuts.

I diecut two cherries and stems from Love & Ice Cream Confetti Cuts
to finish off my card.

And lastly, I made another card using In A Jam.

I smooshed ink onto my watercolour panel and diecut them
using my Jam Jar Confetti Cuts
I diecut the oval from Jam Jar Confetti Cuts and stamped it with the
fun In a Jam stamp.

I layered it over a piece of Basic Grey patterned paper, onto which
I added a little ink for some extra colour.
A couple of buttons and twine finish it off.

I'm linking this card up to the House of Cards August Challenge,
where we were to use twine and/or these colours:

House of Cards July Challenge -- Take Two

I already played along with the House of Cards July Challenge,
which you can see here
but I was really inspired by the photo and
decided to make another card using it:

I was really inspired by the row of colours along the right side
from Reverse Confetti to make my card:

I started by diecutting my Big Stripes Cover Panel Confetti Cuts
from white cardstock and using it as a guide to blend different shades
of yellow, green and blue inks onto my white panel behind it,
using my new Clarity Stencil Brushes.
I layered the Big Stripes Cover Panel Confetti Cuts panel over top.

I stamped my Pineapples Aplenty stamps onto a coordinating
I wanted to add a bit of dimension to the pineapple, so I stamped
the triangles from Paper Crane over top in Bright Buttercup.
I adhered it to my card with dimensional adhesive
and added a Bitty Banners sentiment stamped on a Bitty Banners Confetti Cuts.

Five for Friday

1. Well, we've had a great start & first week of summer...
It started off with going to see Central Intelligence at the drive-in on Canada Day.

The drive-in is located close to the beach, so they actually
paused the movie so we could watch the fireworks that
they set off over the water.
It was pretty cool!

2. We've also done a few of my favourite summertime activities already...

We've gone strawberry picking several times.
The berries are amazing this year!
I love having fresh berries every day, so we go every few days
and pick a couple of pails....

And, we've been going to the beach every day for Sage and Jonah's swimming lessons.

The weather hadn't been fabulous, but I've enjoyed just chilling
in my beach chair, either sketching out card ideas or reading.

3. Believe it or not, I've also done a couple of "kid-free" activities....

First of all, I signed up to play on a slo-pitch team: the Bat Attackers.

I thought I'd be playing right field, but they put me on first base.

And Sage took this action shot of me running to first base.
I got out, but still, don't I look great? ;)

And, last night, I had fun driving around town with these lovely ladies...

The women's group at my church organized a fun
Riddle Me Morden Bible/scavenger hunt.
It was a lot of fun!

4. We still take taekwondo two nights a week through
the summer months.
The other day, when we got out of class, we saw this...

A double rainbow!
It was very cool!

5. And, lastly, I squeezed in a little time in my craft area yesterday
and made a card:

If you know me at all, you know I love participating in online challenges.
Well, it always saddens me that some of my favourite challenge sites
take a break for summer.
So, I decided to try and find some new-to-me challenge sites..

I made this card for the House of Cards July Challenge,
which was a colour challenge:

I started by using my new Hero Arts stencil and new Clarity Stencil brushes
that I got in the mail yesterday morning to create my background.

Then, I stamped my bird (from PTI's Spring Woods) and leaves
(from MFT's Flashy Florals) onto their coordinating diecuts
and my sentiment (from PTI's Winter Woods) directly onto my background.
