MFT 2018 Creative Olympics

I had some time to craft this afternoon and was looking
for some challenges by which to be inspired.
I found the MFT Creative Olympics and decided to play
along with two of their challenges.

I made this first card for the first event: Stamping Slalom,
where we needed to use three different stamp sets on one card.

I also used the current MFT Wednesday Sketch 372:

and the current MFT Colour Challenge 87:

Here's my card:

I used MFT's Beautiful Butterflies, the accompanying sentiment set
and the leaves from the Grateful set.

I also played along with the fourth event: Speed Cardmaking:

I used the same sets and made this card in 13:29 seconds.

MFT Stamps: World Cardmaking Day Challenges

I didn't participate in World Card Making Day yesterday,
because we were in Winnipeg, celebrating Thanksgiving with my mom.
So, I decided to play along with the World Card Making Day
challenges at MFT Stamps this afternoon.

I made five cards for the four challenges. :)

First of all, I created this card for Challenge #1: ROYGBIV,
where we needed to incorporate the colours of the rainbow:

I made a one-layer card using MFT's Beautiful Butterflies.
I stamped my sentiment using Handwritten Holiday and a stamp from PTI.

Next, I created two cards for Challenge #2: Die-Namics Designs,
where we couldn't use stamps, only dies.

I smooshed some aqua and green inks onto watercolour paper and diecut them
using the leaves from Flashy Florals.
I flicked white paint mixed with water onto my kraft cardstock background
and added the thanks (from the Flashy Florals kit), diecut from white cardstock.

I had a few leaves left over, so I made a second card:

On this one, I added a little twine to finish it off.

Next, I created two cards for Challenge #3: By the Numbers,
where we were encouraged to incorporate numbers into our card.
Since I don't own any number stamps or dies from MFT stamps,
I decided to stamp some stacks of 39 books on the front of my card.

I did some masking to create my stacks using the books from Our Story.
I diecut the watercolour panel, after colouring it in with my Zig Clean Colour Real Brush markers,
with my Mama Elephant Femme Frames diecut.
The sentiment was heat embossed on a strip of black cardstock.

And lastly, I have a card for Challenge #4: Make & Mail,
which I made for my sister-in-law, which I will mail on Tuesday.

For this card, I used MFT's Fall Florals and this week's

MFT Wednesday Sketch 348

Today, I have a card to share for MFT Wednesday Sketch 348:

My nephew and his wife had a baby earlier this week
-- Juniper Claire -- and I wanted to make them a card
to accompany the adorable receiving blankets Sage & I picked out for them.
Because of her name, I wanted to include some trees on my card,
so I used my MFT Forest Friends set.

I started by trimming some white cardstock and smooshing some
PTI Hawaiian Shores and Green Parakeet inks mixed with water
onto two panels, which I trimmed down for my card.
I stamped the trees and bear in versafine onyx black ink and heat embossed
them in clear before colouring them in with my Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers
and a water brush.
I diecut them with their coordinating diecuts and adhered them to my card.

Before smooshing the green panel, I stamped it with my Reverse Confetti sentiment
(from Bear Hugs) and heat embossed it in clear, so it wouldn't smudge.

MFT Wednesday Sketch 345 & Colour Challenge 75

Today, I have a card to share for this week's

Here's my card:

I started by using a scrap of aqua cardstock that I had stamped with my
Concerd & 9th woodgrain stamp as my border.
I added a wreath that I had diecut using Reverse Confetti Wreaths Confetti Cuts.
I stamped the flowers and leaves using Altenew Emerald, Mountain Mist,
Sapphire, Blush and Rouge inks and MFT's Fall Florals and Flashy Florals
flowers and leaves on their coordinating diecuts.

I stamped my sentiment (from Papertrey Ink's Spring Woods)
in Sapphire ink.

MFT Wednesday Sketch 344

Today, I have a card to share that I made using
the MFT Wednesday Sketch 344:

I decided to rotate the sketch and to use my MFT Forest Friends stamps and dies
to make my card:

I started by blending PTI Hawaiian Shores and Green Parakeet onto my background panel,
using a "stencil/mask" I created with a Pretty Pink Posh border die.
I diecut the critters and trees from watercolour paper and stamped them in versamark ink.
I heat embossed them in clear and coloured them in using my Zig Clean
Colour Real Brush Markers and a water brush.

I stamped the sentiment from Forest Friends in versamark and heat
embossed it on clear.

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge -- Herb Garden

The LEAD of the Herb Garden Challenge will be invited as a
Guest Designer in a future challenge!
Please visit the Curtain Call Challenge Blog for all the challenge info and deadline.

I was also inspired by this week's Wednesday Sketch Challenge:

Here's my card:

I started by stamping the leaves from MFT Flashy Florals and Modern Blooms
in three shades of green ink, spritzing them with water before stamping them.
When they were dry, I diecut the panel using a scalloped frame
and then adhered them over a piece of black cardstock, using dimensional adhesive
for the scalloped diecut.

I diecut the "happy" (using a PTI die) & stamped the "wedding day" on a strip of white cardstock.
A trio of PTI Rainstones finishes it off.

Make sure you visit each of the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge
 designers' blogs for more inspiration!

CAS(E) This Sketch #231

Today, I have a card to share that I made for
 CAS(E) This Sketch #231 designed by N@Ali:

I also used MFT Colour Challenge 73:

Here's my card:

I found this fun Crate Paper journaling card in my stash and trimmed it down for my card.
I used the coordinating patterned paper as my background and to diecut my butterfly
(from MFT's Beautiful Butterflies set.)
I blended some Altenew Volcano ink onto my aqua mist background panel
and onto the banner I diecut using MFT dies.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see the rest of the DT's takes on the sketch
and to play along, if you'd like.
You have until Thursday, July 27th to link up your card.

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge Sorbet -- Take Two & MFT Camp Create

I have another card to share that I made using the current

www.flickr.com

I also wanted to play along with MFT's Camp Create:

.

Here's my card, using Beautiful Butterflies:

I smooshed ink mixed with water onto my watercolour panel.
I stamped the butterfly onto its coordinating diecut, spritzing the stamp
with water after I inked it, before stamping it.

I stamped the sentiment (from MFT Forest Friends) onto my background.

Remember, there's still time to play along with this
 Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge.

And, while I had my Beautiful Butterflies stamp set out,
I decided to make another card, this time for Day 2: Remarkable Resist.

Here's my card:

I started by pressing versamark ink through my MFT stencil onto my white cardstock.
Then, I heat embossed it with white embossing powder and used three different
colours of ink to create an ombre effect.

I stamped the butterfly onto its coordinating diecut and added the sentiment,
heat embossed in white on a strip of grey cardstock.

I made both of my cards with my new MFT Butterflies stamp set
