May AEI♥U Challenge
I thought I'd play along with this month's AEI♥U challenge at Avery Elle, which was to create a project using the following photo as inspiration:
I really loved the way the blues in the photo change from the top towards the bottom of the photo, so I decided to make a card, using Avery Elle's To The Point stamp set to stamp the background of my card. (I used PTI inks: Enchanted Evening, Blueberry Sky, Spring Rain, Hawaiian Shores & Aqua Mist.) I matted this on some PTI Enchanted Evening cardstock and added some stitching with my sewing machine. I layered a piece of cardstock over the background and stamped my sentiment, using the same stamp set. Because I also loved the nautical theme of the photo, I decided to cut out some oars (using PTI aqua mist cardstock & a Silhouette cut file) and the anchor (using PTI enchanted evening cardstock and a Studio Calico cut file), on my Silhouette. I ran these through my big shot with my PTI woodgrain impression plate before adhering them to my card.

March AEI♥U Challenge
Today, I'm posting a card that I made for the latest Avery Elle Blog Challenge, which is to use the following photo as inspiration for your card:
I'm really loving this shade of green!
I used one of the free Avery Elle digital stamps to create my card, along with some Papertrey Ink cardstock (rustic white, classic kraft) and My Mind's Eye patterned paper. For the dock, I stamped my WMS woodgrain stamp onto the kraft cardstock in versamark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I added an Echo Park chipboard butterfly onto my flowers.
For my digital stamp, I printed it out onto the rustic white cardstock and cut it out with my craft knife. I pressed some PTI new leaf and ocean tides ink onto my stamp press and then took a paintbrush dipped in water and mixed up the inks and then painted around the frame and the leaves. I pressed a little more ocean tides ink onto the stamp press and then watercoloured my flowers. I added some SU! pearls to finish it off.

AEI♥U Challenge
Hi there! I'm popping in today to post the card that I made for the latest AEI♥U Challenge on the Avery Elle blog, an inspiration challenge using this photo:
Now, since I don't have any Avery Elle stamps yet (although, I have a feeling that this will change soon, as I'd really like this set to come and live in my house), I used one of their free digital stamps on my card:
I printed the digital stamp on PTI stamper's select white cardstock and then coloured in the frame and flowers using some of Sage's Faber Castell watercolour pencils. I then took a wet paintbrush and "painted" over my colouring. Then, I started digging through my patterned paper and came across these gorgeous Heidi Swapp 6x6 sheets. I decided to use them, but needed to change my digital image, since it was too white against these papers. So, I blended some Tim Holtz Antique Linen ink onto my image with my blending tool.
For the patterned paper, the 6x6 sheet with the yellow stripes looked like this:
So, I cut it into four pieces and adhered it to my PTI hibiscus burst cardstock, positioning them so the seem ran down the left hand side like that, beneath the "for". Then I stitched them together with some zig zag and straight stitches.
As a finishing touch, I added some SU! pearls.

AEI♥U -- January
Today, I want to share the card that I made for January AEI♥U challenge, which was to create a card using this photo for inspiration:
I love those striped rain boots --I think they're adorable!
I was inspired by the design of the photos (the large pop of red near the top, the stripes, the grey background) as well as the colours. Here's my card:
I started by layering some Echo Park patterned paper over some PTI smokey shadow cardstock. Since I don't have an Avery Elle stamps (yet!), I used the pretty digital stamp that Avery Elle supplied for the challenge. I printed it out onto PTI pure poppy cardstock and cut it out by hand. I needed a birthday card, though, so I decided to layer a Simon Says Stamp diecut over top, on which I stamped with PTI's Movers & Shakers Sentiments. I added some grey Offfray ribbon as well as some PTI buttons & twine and some stitching to finish it off.

AEI♥U
I was blog hopping the other day and came across Avery Elle's first AEI♥U challenge which was to create a project that sums up your personal paper crafting style.
I decided to play along, making sure I included all of my favourite goodies on the card I made: pretty patterned paper (these two are by Heidi Swapp), a stamp or two (I used Stitches and Swirls by Papertrey Ink), some PTI cardstock (rustic white, sweet blush), buttons and twine. Since I don't have an Avery Elle stamps (yet!), I used the pretty digital stamp that Avery Elle supplied for the challenge. And, of course, I also had to add some stitching. ;)
And here's my card:
What do you think? Does this card sum up my personal paper crafting style?
