10 Minute Craft Dash #32

*Note this is my second post for today.
Please scroll down to see my post for this week's Case Study Challenge.

I cannot believe it's only one week until Christmas!
I still have a list of things today, although I did cross off my Christmas baking on Monday, which was good!
How about you? Are you ready for the 25th?

Today, I have a card to share for the 10 Minute Craft Dash #31, which is Anything Goes.

I don't know why, but I struggle the most with these kinds of challenges.
It's like I need a jumping off point for inspiration.

So I went looking for one and I found this one from The Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge.
Isn't it pretty?

So I gathered my supplies: my embossing paste & SSS snowflake stencil
and my Reverse Confetti Lots to Say stamp set and Tag Me dies.

And here's what I made:

I spread the paste on some aqua mist card stock.
While that was drying, I die cut my vellum and My Mind's Eye patterned paper with the end of the smaller tag in the Tag Me set.
I stamped my sentiment in versa mark and heat embossed it with some aqua embossing powder.
Then I added the banners to my card and stitched them in place.
As a finishing touch, I added the felt "stars" --- these were left over from some snowflakes I'd cut using the Papertrey Ink Fancy Flakes dies -- they're the centres from each die.

And my time?
Honestly, I don't know.
When I went to check it, I realized that my iPod had run out of power and had shut off. :(

But I'm pretty sure it was under 10 minutes. ;)

10 Minute Craft Dash #31

Hi there!

Today, I have a card to share for the 10 Minute Craft Dash #31,
which is to use the colour combo on the graphic above (yellow, red & green).

Now, I have to admit that I made three cards for this challenge before succeeding at making one in less than 10 minutes. That time limit is hard, people!
The first one is here (it's the first one with the wreath -- it took me over 13 minutes)
and the second one is here (which also took me over 13 minutes).

(Maybe I need to find a 14 Minute Craft Dash Challenge. ;)  )

Anyway, after two failed cards, I was starting to get a little frustrated,
so I decided to look through my supplies to see if I had any embellishments
or journaling cards that could help speed up my card making.
I came across this super sweet Pink Paislee journaling card and used it to make my card.

I diecut the edge of the journaling card with a pinking edge border die.
I layered it over some red cardstock and SSS white woodgrain cardstock.
And I added some buttons and stitching.

And my time....... 9:12.8.

Success!

Three Cards

Hi there!
I have three cards to share today.

The first card is my first attempt at the 10 Minute Craft Dash Challenge #30 ,
which is to use the colours in the graphic above: pale yellow, magenta & navy.

I thought I'd use my new SSS speech Bubble die and one of my favourite stamp sets: Fresh Cut Florals. So I pulled these out, along with some coordinating patterned paper and got to work.
Here's the card I made....

And when I checked my time........... it was over 13 minutes!
Ack! Epic fail.

So, I tried again, this time with some Teresa Collins patterned paper, a MFT die and
my new City Scene stamp set from Papertrey Ink.
Here's what I made:

And my time: just under 10 minutes: 9:54.6.
Success!

So make sure you visit Paulina's blog to check out what the rest of the DT made for the challenge.
And you'll probably want to play along, too..... here's the prize that's up for grabs:

But before you do that, I have one more card to share...

My friend, Erin, & I are doing a colour challenge this week.
We each chose three colour schemes and stamp sets and we both need to make cards using them.
For today, I chose this colour combo and the Two Step Sprig stamp set from Waltzingmouse Stamps.

And here is my card:

I had fun stamping the leaves from this set on my background (before impressing it with my PTI woodgrain IP) and again on my tag.

Make sure you check out Erin's blog to see her take on the challenge!

10 Minute Craft Dash #29

Today, I'm sharing a card that I made for the 10 Minute Craft Dash Challenge #29 ,
which was to feature buttons.

I love adding buttons to my cards!
But for today's challenge, I wanted to do something I've never done before...

So, I went through my buttons stash and used a bunch of PTI Simply Chartreuse buttons to make a wreath.
I glued them on using Glossy Accents. This took about 7 minutes!
So, with my remaining 3 minutes, I very quickly diecut and stamped some pine boughs & pinecones from my Wplus9 Merry & Bright stamp set.
I stamped the sentiment (also from Merry & Bright) directly onto my background.
The red bow is a Wplus9 Under the Mistletoe diecut.

And my final time...... 9:53.7.

So head on over to Paulina's blog to check out what the rest of the DT made for the challenge.

10 Minute Craft Dash #28

Hi there!
Just popping in today to post the card that I made for the latest 10 Minute Craft Dash,
where the challenge is to create a card using the three colours in the image above.

I thought these colours would be perfect to make a scratch and sniff card
for my online friend, Gina, as a thank you for the sugar-free Jello powder
she sent me this summer for Stamp-a-faire.
Thanks again, Gina!

I used some My Mind's Eye patterned paper for the background.
I diecut some rustic cream cardstock using one of my MFT dies.
I stamped the leaves with Ripe Avocado ink.
For the cherries, I mixed some red Zing embossing powder with some sugar-free Jello mix.
I stamped the cherries in versamark and then in pure poppy ink. Then I heat embossed it.

And my time.... 9:48.1.

Success! But, I didn't have time to add any stitching.
Oh well....

So head on over to Paulina's blog to check out what the rest of the DT made for the challenge.
And you'll probably want to play along, too..... here's the prize that's up for grabs:

10 Minute Craft Dash #27

Hi there! I'm popping in today to share my card for the 10 Minute Craft Dash Challenge #27
which is to use the colours shown in the photo above.

For my card today, I decided to make a fall card using my Picket Fence Die and the pumpkin image from Scent-imentals.

I diecut a mat stack 4 from true black cardstock and layered it over some Simple Stories patterned paper. I stamped the image in versa mark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder (I was a little nervous about heat embossing on a timed challenge, but it actually worked out okay!) I added the fence and pumpkin and checked my time: 8:20, which meant I had time to add some stitching.

The stitching took me less than a minute..... my final time was 9:17.3. :)

10 Minute Craft Dash -- Challenge #26

Hi there! I'm popping in today to share my card for the 10 Minute Craft Dash Challenge #26
which is to use the colours shown in the photo above.

As I've been leaving comments on the participants of the TMCD, I've been amazed at the projects that have stamped backgrounds in them.... so I challenged myself to make a card for the Dash
with a stamped background.

Here's what I made:

I started by stamping my sentiment and then adding my feathers,
going from the bottom right hand corner and working upwards.
I felt it needed a little something, so I added some enamel dots to finish it off.

And my time...... 9:47.7. :)

You can check out the challenge and what the other DT members made for it here
And check out the fabulous prize:

I'm also linking this up to this week's Simon Says Stamp Challenge: to use a product from their store.
They sell the Wplus9 feathers set. :)
