Bella Blvd | Adventure...

Do you enjoy going on Adventures? Our family does. Even if it is in our own local area. Today I am sharing a layout created for Bella Blvd and iNSD.

Using the new Let's Go on an Adventure collection, I couldn't go past this photo showing the passage of time between two of my boys.  This is the same location, probably even the same rock and the same two boys... but with a time span of two years in between. I'm thinking we might need to continue this little, accidental photo tradition - as long as I can continue to convince them to go mountain climbing with me!

The beautiful selection of patterned papers keeps the focus on my photos while highlighting the important details. This diamond pattern is to. die. for! *love*

I think I have also fallen in love with the new acrylic words from Bella Blvd. Check out the detail that you may not notice at first.

I hope everyone had a chance to play along with the challenges flooding the internet for iNSD this year. If not, there's certainly a lot of inspiration for future projects throughout the year. Thanks for visiting..x

JOT Magazine | November Mood Board...

Hello Friends! It's time to share the new Pinterest Inspired mood board over at Jot and this month I have the honour of being the guest pinner! YAY! I love being able to gather all these ideas in one place and then see them being brought together by the talented Jot Girls, who obviously provide inspirational samples for us all to drool over... *swoon*

Here's the mood board... Cool blue waters & zesty lime delight!

And here is my project...

products used: cs - American Crafts; pp - Bella BLVD; alphas - AC Thickers; other - Bella BLVD enamel hearts, transparency, Elle's Studio Snippets,  Jillibean Soup Alpha Tile; tools - water colour paint, typewriter.

I was completely inspired by everything. It is my mood board after all! *Grin* The alphabet gave me my title and story; the constellation shows up in the patterned papers; paint splatter in peacock colours; and lime transparency circles.

What do you think you can glean from this colour palette and these mood board pinterest pics? I'd love to see. Please come and join us this month. Thanks for visiting..x

World Card Making Day 2016 | Bella Blvd

Hello sweet friends! It has been a little while since I've had the time to come and visit here. Please forgive my absence while I make memories with my family! LOL!

Today is World Card Making Day! Yay! The team over at Bella Blvd have come together to help celebrate. I've had the pleasure of playing with the brand new Alex collection!

Here's what I created:

"14, Good Job, Bro!"

products used: cs - American Crafts; pp - Bella BLVD (Alex); alpha - Bella BLVD (Color Chaos); other - Bella BLVD: Alex paper pieces, washi tape, fundamentals; IF enamel hearts; twine; embroidery floss; tools - hand stitching.

Any mum of boys could probably tell you that they have an innate sense of gaming technology! I was drawn to using the paper piece of the xbox remote as my focal point. Boy + Game = fun birthday card!! My biggest boy turns 14 next month, so it was an easy choice to create this birthday card with him in mind.

For added whimsy, I've included hand stitching and mounted the gamer remote control onto foam dots. I also love how the patterned paper shows through the washi tape at the bottom!

Thanks for joining me here on the Bella Blog Hop.  Don't forget to check in with BB every hour to see all the fabulous creations being shared. Plus there might also be the chance to win a prize or two... hint, hint!

Good luck!  And thanks for visiting...x

Jillibean Soup | Thankful...

Hello Everyone!  I wanted to share with you today, a layout created for Jillibean Soup.  It's been a busy month during November and I've got an even busier month starting yesterday! So I took a moment to be thankful.  Thankful indeed, that these two boys got to play a glorious season of hockey and in their first season became members of the champion team.

"Thankful

products used: cs - American Crafts; pp - Jillibean Soup (Holly Berry Borscht, Cool as a Cucumber); alpha - Mix the Media stencil; other - Jillibean Soup: wood sprinkles, woodgrain stampables, note card, label sticker, wood veneer stars; white thread, yellow embroidery floss; tools - water colour paint, machine stitching.

I played around with watercolours this month.  The title and small die cut leaves were cut from normal cardstock after the water colours were applied. The title was traced from the Jillibean Soup Mix the Media "Thankful" stencil. Before I trimmed around the title, I hand stitched with coordinating embroidery floss.

The bright pops of orange against the wood plank patterned paper background really help highlight the texture on both the patterned paper and the die cut leaves.

The rest of the layout has layers of woodgrain, on woodgrain.  In the baggie I have included hidden journaling and the frame helps draw the eye to the collection of trinkets in the lower corner.

The larger leaves were traced from ones found in my garden and then carefully cut with a sharp knife.  I certainly had fun playing with a few simple techniques and no doubt will be trying them again sometime soon.  Thanks for visiting today...x

Jillibean Soup | Minecraft...

Hello Friends!  I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but my sons are crazy (and I mean car-razy)
about minecraft.  Especially my eldest boy.  And it is just about doing my head in, trying to keep up with this phenomenon.  So while I am trying to understand it, I decided to create a layout about this latest obsession, using the gorgeous new collections from Jillibean Soup.

"Minecraft"

products used: cs - American Crafts; pp - Jillibean Soup (Soup Staples III, Sightseeing Stew); alpha - Jillibean Soup: beanboard alphas (wood plank); other - Jillibean Soup: wood sprinkles, mini placemat, Mix the Media ephemera, sequins, label stickers, wise words; paint, mist, ink; tools - Jillibean Soup: clear stamp, xoxo stencil; typewriter.

I am loving the stencils, stamps and those wood plank beanboard alphas!!! SO what have you spotted lately that's caught your eye over at Jillibean Soup?

Thanks for visiting..x

Bella Blvd | Pinterest Inspiration...

Hello Friends!  Happy Friday!  Today I have a Bella Blvd layout to share with you and it all started with some paperclips!!!

Every now and then the design team are challenged with an image found on Pinterest.  Laura does a fabulous job at sourcing these images and I always have fun with the ones I am assigned to.  This one however, had me scratching my head a little!  LOL!! But I have to admit, with a some thinking outside the box, I have come to really like the finished product.  *grin*

I think it was the paperclips that had me umming and ah-ing.  But I knew I was drawn to the notebook paper and the green polka dots.  The red?... Yeah, I left that in the Inspiration photo! LOL!

"Awesome Trouble"

products used: pp - Bella Blvd (Max, Lucky Starz, Family Forever); other - Bella Blvd: stickers, arrow stickers, die-cuts; paperclips, date stamp; tools - typewriter, hand stitching.

The title was fussy cut from the photo mat paper (Max: That's my Boy) and then hand stitched back on top of it.  I kind of like the camouflage look it creates.

The banner on the paperclip is taken from the Inspiration photo, as are the circles on the page.  These circles are meant to represent the circles on the paperclips from the top part of the Inspiration picture.

I've also created a little pocket under the photo layers to house my journaling.  This photo of my son and his two best mates, is priceless.  Do you know how hard it is to take a photo of just one eleven year old boy, never mind three of them???  *ahem... - I had them pinned up against a wall in the photo!!!*

And of course, no boyish layout created with the Max collection, should ever be without these awesome paper pieces!  That army guy is a fave!!!   LOL!

Head on over to the Bella Blvd blog for more takes on the Pinterest Challenge.  Thanks for visiting..x
