Memorial Day Weekend

The Saturday of Memorial Day weekend we made our usual trip to Mona to visit my Grandparents' graves.   We met my parents there and also my 2 nieces since my parents were baby-sitting there.  As we were driving though Mona toward the cemetery we got stuck in a herd of cows that was walking down the street.  Gotta love Mona!
I swear we took pictures at the cemetery but I cannot find them anywhere.  So weird.  If I find them I will put them on another post.  After the cemetery we stopped at the Red Barn for ice cream as is our tradition.  And then we went got lunch! ;)

After lunch we stopped in SLC to see Karl's grandparents's graves and once again, I can't find them.  Not sure why all the cemetery pictures are missing and the rest are here.

Summer had been wanting to get her ears pierced for a long time.  We told her when she turned 8 and saved up the money herself, she could get it done.  I can't believe how much it costs to get your ears pierced these days.  Well she did it!  So that Saturday on the way home we stopped at the mall so she could get it done.  She was so brave!

She picked out these little crystal daisies.  They have way more options than they did when I was a kid.  I think we I got my ears pierced you could choose between your birthstone or plain gold or silver and that was pretty much it.  Now they have tons of choices in different price ranges.

Since we went visit my grandparents' grave it seems appropriate to put these here.  These are some drawings my Grandpa did and included in his book he wrote about WWII

 Grandma and Grandpa

On Sunday we went and saw the graves of Karl's other grandparents.  I have those pictures

We were going to originally going to meet my family to see my Grandpa's on Monday and then our annual Memorial Day Barbecue at my parents' house but I ended waking up sick and throwing up.  My parents came and got the kids so they could go to the barbecue but Summer ended up getting sick too.
So we went to visit my Grandpa's grave the next weekend.
