FS146 Christmas Window & Window Ledge Tutorial
NOTE: There is still time to enter to win the FireCracker Designs by Pamela blog candy. Just visit this post.
Congrats to Birgit (Biggan) for being today’s Featured Stamper! My favorite things in Birgit’s gallery are the landscapes and windows so I chose this card to case. I changed 1) the color scheme adding more color 2) the details on how the window was made 3) the stamps although I kept the same theme.
I know its not Tuesday but would you like the Tips, Tricks, & Tutorial on how I made that window ledge? I bet you will so here we go!
First, I cut a rectangle of cardstock the approximate size of my window. Then I scored 1/4" up from the bottom and then again 1/8" above that. Next I cut 1/4" off each side down to the score line on each side. I cut at an angle from the first score line up to the second score line on each side.
Then I mask the main window area and below the 1/4" score line and sponged a little darker color into that area. Remove the masks and its ready for your window scene to be placed in.
I always make my scenes on a whole piece of paper and then cut the 1/8" strips out. NOTE: I do not just cut once and spread the pieces as I like the part of the image to be missing just as it would if it were obscured by a window structure.
Stamps: Magnolia Tilda in Winter Stockings, Rubbernecker Kitty Kits Cause a Scene The Moose is Loose, A Muse Santa’s Silhouette
Paper: Whisper White, GP110, Old Olive, Kraft, DCWV DP
Ink: Soft Sky, Baja Breeze, Blue Bayou, Not Quite Navy, Creamy Caramel, Momento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Copics, Prismacolor Pencils
Enjoy!

FS132 CAS Ladybug Tilda
I have to work today - I'm just waiting for the call that its time to come in so I thought I'd do a Clean and Simple style card for Today's Featured Stamper, StampMuse. Congrats to StampMuse! I choose this ladybug card as my inspiration. I figure this is like a 2 stage scene: 1) StampMuse showed the ladybug happily crawling across the grass 2) I showed him after Tilda scooped him up! Don't worry, she won't hurt him! Ha!
I colored Tilda with Copics and cut her out. I cut out the rectangle for my main image panel. Then I used my Copic airbrush system to create the sky. I also airbrushed the ground in too. I didn't like the ground so I drew in the sprigs of grass (just a flip of the wrist) and then I was happy. I stamped Tilda onto the scene and then glued my colored Tilda on top. This allowed me to not worry about cutting off those tiny little ladybug antenae. Click here for my tricks on cutting images out.
I was really wishing I had some red ribbon with black polka dots. So I finally got the idea to add a strip of red cardstock with black punched out dots. I find I am most creative when I DON'T have something! But its sooo fun to shop!
Stamps: Magnolia Tilda with Ladybug
Paper: Papertrey White, GP 110, Basic Black, Real Red
Ink: Riding Hood Red (sponging on the dotted strip), Momento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Copics, Copic Airbrush System, White Prismacolor pencil (highlights), ¼” circle punch
Enjoy!

SC239 Wish Big
I always get up at 4 on Wednesdays and do the sketch challenge before work. I’m off work today but I have plans with the kids so I figured I better get up early……it was MUCH harder to get up when I knew I didn’t have to work! So, I’m wishing big I was back in bed!
I masked and airbrushed the background. I'm tired of plain old blue skies so I added some purple to the sky today. I originally had a bright green grassy area (like the green on her wings). But it was so bright it hurt my eyes this early in the morning! Great thing about copics is that I was able to simply color over it in a more olive green.
Stamps: Stamping Bella Eloise Greengrass, Magnolia Summer Background, Short & Sweet
Paper: GP110, Elegant Eggplant
Ink: Elegant Eggplant, Momento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Elegant Eggplant Ribbon, Copics, Copic Airbrush System, Nesties, Eclipse Tape
Enjoy!

2 Birthdays
Today is Grandparents day at school so my in laws have the kids all day. I have one of those rare opportunities to just loose myself in my art and not worry about what time it is. Heaven! So I decided to do something different and not work with a sketch (every once in a while I do that to remind myself how awful I am without one!). I colored totally with Prismacolor pencils….no Copics today. And this card had all the right components for the topic I wanted to do for next Tuesday’s Tips n Tricks so I worked on that too. I actually made 2 of this card because my MIL and my aunt have birthdays next week and have similar tastes. So 4 hours later……here I am finally posting this.
Pretty simple card here (why did it take 4 hours?). I just sponged Soft Sky in the sky area with a little Cool Caribbean the corners. Then I sponged Certainly Celery on the grass with Old Olive around all 4 sides of the grass area for shadow. I attached all the pieces. It still needed a little something so I punched out those corner pieces of Pink Pirouette cardstock and stamped over them with Pretty in Pink.
When I was done I noticed that the two pink corner pieces and the pink balloon formed a triangle with the cake right in the middle. Kind of a visual trick to make sure your eye went to the cake. I like that!
And for some exciting news……I just received my confirmation that I’ll be going to Michelle Zindorf’s beginning and advanced brayer workshops here in Missouri in August. I can’t wait!!!!!
Stamps: Magnolia Tilda with Balloons, High Hopes Rock Wall, Voila, Background Sampler
Paper: Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Pirouette Pink
Ink: Soft Sky, Cool Caribbean, Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Pretty in Pink
Accessories: Prismacolor pencils and Goo Gone, Candlelight Shimmerz (on the flame), Photo Corners punch
Enjoy!

FS107 WSC69 Tilda
This was created for today's Featured Stamper 107 challenge. I was inspired by this card from SgtStamper. I changed the color scheme, the main image (but kept the Tilda on tummy w/brown around her), and the sketch. The sketch I used here is from Beate's Weekend Sketch #69. This also qualifies for my ongoing Christmas Card Challenge.
Wow, I just realized I didn't use any sponging or brayering on this card. Rare for me! The floor was hand drawn by me and converted to a digital image so I could just print onto Creamy Caramel CS and add a little Prismacolor pencil shading. The "walls" are DP. I used my usual coloring technique.
Notice my blog looks a little different today? I had a whole list of things I wanted to change or learn how to do and worked thru most of them last night (yep up all night again!). I even converted my blog to 3 columns for a while but didn't like some of the details so I'm going to do some more research into that one.
I wanted to move to a spring banner and I was wanting to learn more about photo editing so instead of just painting a new banner, I used some old pics to make one. A few years ago I was commisioned (aka I GOT PAID! Woo Hoo!) to paint those flowers onto 2 canvases. I used the old pics of those to make this banner. I had to merge the two pics together and fill in the middle space with the same background color. I learned a lot but it would have been faster just to repaint them! Ha!

SC216 My First Tilda
Woo Hoo! I'm finally feeling like my old self again! I even made two cards overnight (I'll show you the other tomorrow, k?). This was made for Sketch Challenge 216. My friend Christina13 "Double Dog Dared" me to color a Magnolia. Before she even sent me one, I started researching them. I was fascinated with the way the were designed to sit on things. So perfect for me and my scenes. So, not only is this my first Tilda card but I used the first Tilda I own! Bought her direct from Sweden which proves my addiction!
Colored my usual way and cut out the main images. I had to extend the length of the bench to go beyond the main panel so I cut it in half under Tilda. That lower support beam of the bench had to go though. As this sketch was all simple straight cuts, I actually got brave and inked everything up before I cut. I used a circle cut from my Cricut as a mask for the tree tops. I used emboss resist for the tree trunks and flowers. Cut, added my layers, glued on the main images and Ta Da!
Stamps: Magnolia Tilda with Lace Skirt, Magnolia Old Bench, Rubbernecker Kittie Kits, Outdoor Plate 1, CC Designs Sugarplum Scenery
Paper: Whisper White, Real Red
Ink: Soft Sky, Baja Breeze, Old Olive, Wild Wasabi
Accessories: Copics, Prismacolor pencils and goo gone, Cricut George, white gel pen
Enjoy!
