Pink

Sometimes, it is not a photo or pretty papers that makes me want to create a layout, but a product. In this case, it was the Kaisercraft die that created my background for this layout. It had been sitting on my bench since I purchased it, waiting patiently to be "played" with. Now was the time!

This layout was created for my May 26th blog post over at D-Lish Scraps. It features lots of D-Lish goodies such as the wild roses, flairs, star flowers, small roses and journalling spots. Below you will find a few close p images of my project.

Aren't these butterflies just divine? They are from Kaisercraft's All That Glitters paper range.

This die has since become one of my favourites - you can expect to see a lot of it in future projects.

So how do you start your projects? With a photo? With papers? With a product? Or with something totally different? i'd love to know, so please feel free to share.

Thanks for stopping by and joining me, and here's to a great weekend filled with crafting goodness. Cheers and hugs, xxx

Couture Creations "Pansies For Thoughts" Card...

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know I keep saying I can't make cards. I still feel that way most times, but sometimes I get lucky, and it all comes together nicely.
This is one of those times, lol!

Today, I am sharing my "Pansies For Thoughts" card, a DT creation for Couture Creations

If you would like to make this card, you can find the full instructions and product list on the Couture Creations blog. There are lots of photos to help explain the process.

And yes, that is Imaginarium Designs chipboard you can see on my card. :)
I love that their products work so well with Couture Creations products.

I hope you like my first attempt at a die cut easel card (it was easier than I thought, lol!).
Cheers and big hugs, xxx

A Moment In Time with Couture Creations...

Have I mentioned how much I am loving being part of the Couture Creations team? As you may know, I love creating feminine, pretty, sweet things, and all the Couture Creations products are right up my alley. And the papers? Oh my, I'm in fussy cutting heaven. :)

"MOMENT IN TIME"
Moment In Time is my second April project for Couture Creations, and you can find step-by-step instructions on how to recreate this layout on the Couture Creations blog

I'm in love with those flourish dies. They are so delicate and pretty. You will definitely be seeing a lot more of those in future works, lol!

Yes, I have included my mandatory bling. Did you know Couture Creations has a HUGE supply of rhinestones and pearls in all shapes and sizes? You guessed right - I am one happy scrapper! :)

And even better, is that Couture Creations and Imaginarium Designs are "partner" companies, so I can still use all my favourite chipboard pieces at the same time. Bonus!!!

Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope you have a fabulous week.

Cheers and big hugs, xxx

This is What Love Looks Like...

I'm away at the Scrap & Chat retreat in the Dandenongs, Melbourne, but thought I would pop in for a minute to share an Imaginarium Designs layout. The full ID blog post is here

"THIS IS WHAT LOVE LOOKS LIKE"
I decided to play with Marion Smith's Posh paper range, a Dina Wakley stamp, and a little spray mist, and some embossing powder. When I first thought I had finished the layout, it looked like it was missing something, so for a change I grabbed a black marking pen and started to doodle and draw in random places.  I was much happier with the end result. It just needed that extra definition. :)

I'm totally in love with the new Dina Wakley stamps, so you can expect to see much more of them on work. Plus, I've just finished reading her "Art Journal Freedom" book, and my head is full of ideas and inspiration. I've decided this is going to be a big year for me - time to branch out and try new things.

Thanks for stopping by and joining me today, but make sure you come back tomorrow for a REALLY BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!!! :-D
Cheers and big hugs, xxxxx

“Couture Creations 2015 Design Team Audition”

I'm sharing several projects and layouts that I have created using dies and embossing folders, as part of my application for the Couture Creations Designs Team.

My first project is this gorgeous wreath that I created as part of my design commitments for PaperHaus. Nearly all those flowers are made by hand using dies (with just a few pre-made paper flowers to fill in the small gaps). Yes, the leaves, doilies and butterfly have all been created with a variety of dies.

My second project is a layout I created using Marion Smith's "Mad Tea Party" paper range. This was the first project I created as part of my Creative Inspiration Paints Design Team commitments.

A quick and cute Christmas card that I created as part of my design team commitments for Kaisercraft.

Another layout that I created as part of my Paperhaus design commitments. The flowers and leaves have all been created with dies.

Another cute card - All You Need Is Love. Yes, I even included curtains. :)

One of my favourite projects - my "Believe" wall plaque. I created this as part of my Imaginarium Designs DT commitments. I have used Webster's "Postcards To Paris 2" paper range.

Another home decor project. Two altered frames created as part of my Imaginarium Designs DT commitments (I created one for each daughter). This project included many levels of die cuts and chipboard to achieve the finished product.

A quick and simple card with an embossed background, all in monochromatic white, with a dash of silver for the title.

Here is a layout I created as part of a Blog Hop for both Imaginarium Designs and Couture Creations. I have used both embossing folders and dies for this project.

Another favourite project - a quick and simple treat/gift bag. This was created as part of my Paperhaus Design Team commitments. I love creating these as there are so many colour combinations to choose from, and the finished product just looks so sweet.

Finally, my butterfly cupcake and stand. I created this project as part of my Kaisercraft Design Team application. The cupcake wrapper has been created from a die, and decorated with gemstones.
Thank-you for stopping by and joining me today. It's been a wonderful trip down memory lane, enjoying projects that I have created with a love, and for many of my Design Teams.
Hmmm...maybe I should do this more often? We tend to become so focused on creating new projects, that sometimes we forget to take the time to enjoy those projects that we have already created. And guess what? Most of these projects still take pride of place in many of my display cabinets so I can enjoy them every day. :)

Now, it's my turn to share a little inspiration with you...

"EXPLORE"
As soon as I saw them, I knew the Couture Creation dies and embossing folders would be perfect to showcase some of the photos photos that I took during our Christmas break at Robe. I wanted to create a beach feel layout, but without all the sand and sea-shells, because Robe was not you traditional beach - it was wild, rugged, and beautiful.

I have used brown cardstock for the boat die, and coated it with Glossy Accents for extra shine. The butterfly die has been given a dash of Kindy Glitz for a little sparkle and glimmer.

All my chipboard has been left natural, no paints, no inks - it was the perfect colour for a wild beach layout. All I did was coat each piece with clear embossing powder for added shine and a little protection.

And I added a little texture paste, hessian, and masking tape for extra texture. I also continued the texture theme with the burlap and crocheted flowers that I chose for this layout.
