Always Be A Queen

So, I'm totally in love with this layout! I decided to try a new scrapping style, and it worked! That's what I love about scrapbooking - the playing and experimenting.

I created "Always Be A Queen" as part of my DT commitments for D-Lish Scraps. It went live on the D-Lish Blog on the 26th June. The papers are the Rossibelle range from Prima (which I have been hoarding for way too long, lol!). Disclaimer: the photo is not mine. It was found on the internet, and I do not know who's it is.

I have splattered a mixture of Glimmermist and Heidi Swapp mists to create my splattered effect.

And of course, a Queen must have a crown. Preferably pink and sparkly. I have used Opal Dust to create the glimmer and sparkles.

Lots of flowers, roses, fussy cutting and layers, with cute little details such as a veneer owl. Isn't he just the cutest? And a texture paste background using the brick wall stencil (found in the D-Lish store).

Thank-you for stopping by and joining me. I hope you are having an awesome scrappy weekend.

Love Layout for D-Lish Scraps

Seriously, can life slow down just a little? Where have the last two months gone??? I actually created this layout for the D-Lish Scraps May Cyber Crop but I'm only just getting around to sharing it on my blog now. Bad, I know!!!

Did you know that D-Lish Scraps have monthly cyber crops? If not, you might want to join us for the next one and have a little fun. There are lots of great challenges, and there are some lovely prizes up for grabs too. Our next Cyber crop begins on the 14th July. Just make sure to join The Scrap Suite on Facebook to be part of all this fun.

For my challenge you were required to use the colours pink, red and white, the word love, at least three hearts, a minimum of three lines of journalling, and washi tape.

This is what I came up with - absolutely thrilled with the end result. And for anyone who may be wondering, I have used The Girl's Paperie papers, from several years ago.

I am loving these flowers and roses - the deep, vibrant shades of red are just divine!!!!

My background was created with a 5x5 stencil. You can find these in the D-Lish Store

Added a little journalling. I'm one of those people that love to add journalling to my layouts. A layout never feels complete to me without a story.

Sigh...more flowers. <3 p="">

Thanks for stopping by and joining me, and I hope to see you at our next Cyber Crop.

Sweet Layout for D-Lish Scraps

Back on the 12th May I shared this SWEET layout on the D-Lish blog. You can find all the extra details RIGHT HERE

For those who may be wondering, that is The Girl's Paperie papers, from many, many years ago. Man, I miss those papers. They were soooooo pretty. Fortunately, in my usual fashion, I've kept a small stash for emergencies, like this! ;-)

The photo of the kitchen is off Pinterest (definitely not my own). If it was my own, it would mean I had my dream kitchen and I'd be too busy cooking up a storm to do any scrapping, lol!

Or maybe I should just buy a ticket in the lotto?
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you are having an awesome crafty day!

D-Lish Scraps May Challenge Share...

Can you believe it is May already? That means we are over a third of the way through the year, and only two months until we are half way through the year. YIKES!!!!!

Well, before anymore time passes, I will share my creation for this month's D-Lish Scraps Inspiration challenge. You can find all the details and other inspiration right HERE on the D-Lish Blog

I had a wonderful time playing with these colours because they are not something I would generally choose for myself. Its amazing what you can achieve when you step outside your comfort zone. Yes, I need to do a lot more of this for myself.

So stay tuned - time to spread my wings and grow creatively. :)

I love flower clusters and butterflies. They make a page look so pretty, soft and feminine. Yes,e even with lots of grey, and bold colours, a page can still be soft - it's all about the details.

Do you recognise the paper? I'm trying to use up some of my vintage stash - this is My Mind's Eye, from quite a few years ago.

Thought I would share the Inspiration Board with you - don't forget to pop on over to the D-Lish Blog, right HERE, to join the fun.

Cheers and happy crafting, xxx

D-Lish Designs April Challenge...

Hello everyone! Welcome to April. Do you realise we are now a quarter of the way through the year...OMG!!!!! I think this year is going to be one of those "blink and you'll miss it" years. So, before time gets away from me anymore, I wanted to share some news with you. I am proud to announce that I am now a Design Team member for D-Lish Scraps and today, I am sharing my layout for the D-Lish April Challenge. You can find all the details right here, and the sketch and inspiration board is at the bottom of my blog post too.

I don't scrap boy layouts (very, very rarely) so when I saw the colours for the challenge, I thought tis would be an interesting challenge for me - to create a feminine layout using primary colours. Well, I think I succeeded. :) I'm really happy with the finished product.

The bonus with creating this layout is the amount of old product I was able to use from my stash - old Crate Paper, old felt alphas from Making Memories, and old Prima chipboard.

Can you see all the beautiful D-Lish goodies that I have used? Flowers, sequins, wire, doilies, flairs, and punchinella. All these products can be purchased in the D-Lish Scraps store

So, who's going to join me for this month's challenge? Come on, I dare you! ;-)

Thanks for stopping by, and I look forward seeing you again soon.

Happy scrapping!!!

And Then My Mojo Came Back...

Hello world! It's been a while since I've been able to share anything, with anyone. My life has been crazy, to say the least. I've had major surgery (yes, I am completely ok and have recovered 100%).

My partner and I packed and moved into our own, bigger house. This taught me something - I love him immensely, and we have a lot of junk!!! :-D I still have a lot of boxes to unpack, but we are making progress. My youngest also started at a new school, and has started her part-time career as a model. All of this, combined with a printer that printed poor quality photos, and a camera that was having major issues with focusing, has meant zero mojo for me over the past 4-6 months.

But a few days ago, all that changed. I got a new toy! I am now the proud owner of an Epson Artisan printer that prints the most gorgeous photos. And, even better, I have fixed my camera and the focus issue. All this means that I WANT to scrap again. So, BRING IT ON!!!

And what better way to celebrate the return of my mojo, than to create a new layout. So today, I am sharing "Be Happy", featuring my eldest daughter. Please enjoy.

If you like this paper range, you can check out more at Simple Stories. Here is the link to their web page and to Facebook. I have long been a big fan of their products - they are just so darn cute!!! And if you haven't seen their papers before, they come designed so they can be used for both layouts and project life - such an awesome idea.

Yes, I actually have doodling on my page. Originally, I was going to leave it clean and pretty, but I felt it needed something more - something that was more "teenage" - and voila! Doodling it was! Very last minute - but I think t is effective and I love the finished outcome.

I have done a LOT of layering in this layout. Layered papers, layered flowers, layered everything. I love the depth it has created in this layout.

Yes, even the butterflies were subjected to a little doodling. Nothing was sacred. :)

Thank-you for giving me the opportunity to share this with you. I had such a blast creating this layout - it was all about bright colours and fun!

Now, don't forget to stay tuned over the next couple of days, as I have a little exciting "scrapping news" that I will share with you all.

Happy crafting and creating!

Big hugs, xxx

Prima May BAP 2016

I cannot believe how long it has been since I've found time to do a challenge sketch. This month I've done the Prima Build-A-Page sketch challenge, and here's my end result. As is my nature, I've gone with beautiful, bright, bold colours...sigh...I just can't help myself, lol!

"BE YOURSELF"
I am in awe of my daughter, and her strength to be herself, to express herself, and to stand out from the crowd. Malayla, like me, is an artist, but she has no fear of accepting that and making it part of herself (it took me a lot longer).

Here's a few close up photos of all the details.
If you don't have the correct colour chipboard alphas, what do you do??? You paint them of course (using Dylusions paints for an awesome colour and coverage).

I have had these vines for a long, long time. I'm so glad I kept them and didn't throw them out. I think they may have been in one of the first ever batches of vines that Prima created.

I hoard Prima resin too, lol! I have soooooo many that I need to use.

Flowers, and glitter. Yes, I went to town with both of these. :)

Layers. Lots and lots of layers. This is not a page to sit flat in an album, so I guess I will frame this one, and hang it on my wall. It is, after all, one of my new favourite layouts.
Here's the sketch that I used for inspiration. It's not my usual style, but that was half the fun, and the point of the challenge.
Thanks for joining me, and I hope you are having an awesome week!
Happy creating, xxx

Playing Catch-Up...

I am so far behind on my blogging and sharing, and to make matters worse, Christmas is just around the corner, and then it will be the start of a new year. I don't think I'm ready, lol!

So, before I lose this year all together, let's play catch-up on a few blog posts. Today's post is a share from October. I created two projects for my Imaginarium Designs October post. For more photos, and details on how I created these projects, please visit the Imaginarium Designs blog, right here

LOVE LIFE MINI CANVAS
I'm becoming addicted to mini-canvases. These are so easy to make, and they make a beautiful statement with colour and texture.

Lots of chipboard, metals, glitter and sparkles.

JUST FOR YOU CARD
A quick and simple card. Elegant and feminine, and perfect to give to a friend.

Thanks for stopping by and joining me.
I hope you have had an awesome weekend
(I did - it was my birthday and we went to the Bird In Hand winery for lunch!!!).

Kraft Plus May Guest Designer...

This month, Imaginarium Designs are one of the proud sponsors for the Kraft + challenge blog. So, a couple of the ID designers (me included) have joined forces with Kraft+ as guest designers for the May challenge.

If you would like to play, and join in the fun, just check out the Kraft+ blog for all the details.

"I SMILE BECAUSE OF YOU"
I loved the colours, textures and details of the May challenge. While they are not colours that I would traditionally choose for myself, I still found them beautiful to work with. I think orange might be my new favourite colour.

Can you see that? I did sequins! :) Yeah, I have orange sequins, and I'm in love with them.

And beads. Yes, I used those too. :) Sooooo much fun.

And I got to play with my Pan Pastels to create my background. And I threw in some wire, flowers, and sparkles, just for fun. :)

Here's the gorgeous mood board that I used for my inspiration.
So, are you going to give it a shot?

Thanks for stopping by today.
