Beauty - Romance - New Digi Release at FBD!

Happy Tuesday!

I got all discombobulated this morning and couldn't remember what day it was!
We have had such a great few weeks here. Busy but wonderful.
My daughter is getting ready for dance competition season.
This is her first time dancing at this new studio.
They are so encouraging and kind to one another.
BUT strict and pushing them to their best at the same time.
She will be in two large group numbers and performing two solos.
*she is usually only in one number per competition and this is her first year
even doing a solo! I am so excited AND nervous for her at the same time*
She also got her demipointe shoes yesterday. She is really excited about that and
hopefully starting en pointe soon. Where has the time gone?!?
My son is taking Irish tap this year. He will be dancing a riverdance number
for the St Patricks Day festival / parade. I am so proud of him and all he has sacrificed for
his sister to dance and follow her dreams and I am so proud that he gave tap a chance and that he loves it.
He plays the drums SO well and plays by ear. He hears the beat and can just pick up and play anything
my husband plays at church. The same thing happens when he taps. He is a natural!

Anyway - Be ready for lots of pics and more dance talk soon!

OK, on to the reason for this post!

It's time for a NEW  DIGI RELEASE at

The images this month were drawn and inspired by beauty and romance.
Not because Valentine's day is soon approaching.... I have had a few of these
saved in my sketch book since summer. Some images just come from the heart,
and are a reflection of how one is feeling at that moment. A piece of me went into
each of these drawings and I do hope you love them as much as I do.

God created everything - and took care in creating it.
Everything is perfect and beautiful ...
but WE were chosen.
For a purpose.
For a plan.
WE were FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE! (Psalm 139:14)

What does God say about beauty?

I printed my images out close to one another and as close to the same size as possible.
I couldnt decide if I was going to cut them out and use them like inchies or
what I wanted to do. After they were colored, I decided to keep them in the same row.
The sentiment was one I found when searching beauty quotes on pinterest.
This one was just so lovely and was exactly what I was looking for!

Thank you for stopping by today.

Snowflakes and Ribbon at Fussy and Fancy Challenges

Good Morning!
I am SO LATE getting this post up.
I don't know where the time goes anymore.

Friday was our first day of craft class in over a month.
It was nice getting together with everyone.
The kids were still out of school so we had a house full!
We also had our (late) Santa / Scrooge gift exchange.
That was fun!
I think perrhaps it was even more fun since Christmas
craziness had already passed. Don't get me wrong...
I LOOOOVE Christmas and am SOOOO sad that it is over
but had we had class during all of the other things we were doing,
I don't think we would have enjoyed it or each other quite as much.

Fresh Brewed Designs is sponsoring Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenges this month.
Their challenge is a fun one.
I hope we see a FEW snowflakes this year but NO ICE PLEASE!!!
Last year was crazy...
Back to the project.... :-)

I created a card using the FBD Digital Stamp
(isn't she just lovely?!?)

I know this isn't your typical Valentine's day card...
but I thought it worked. February is still cold and sometimes snowy ...
and she looks pretty and romantic with the soft brushed ribbon and the
lacy diecut edges. Right? At least I hope it works, hehehe!

Here is a side view of the layers.

Be sure to stop by and play along in Fussy and Fancy's Challenge.
(there are 4 more days to play!)

And while your at it, come by and play along at our FAVORITES
challenge at Freshly Brewed Challenge.
My favorites is this ribbon I have been hoarding and the colors. I love purple and yellow together!

Thank you for stopping by.
Wishing you a very happy and blessed Sunday!

Happy Valentine's Day

Hi everyone!
I am here to share a few little special orders I created.

First off is a set of straws I made for Hannah to give to her fellow dance friends
with a chocolate bar and other little candies.
The entire thing was cut out using the cricut ...
simple and extra cute if I do say so myself :)

Next up is a special order Valentine.
A lady my husband works with wanted a special card for her husband.
I couldn't decide what to do .. but then I finally decided
to go with something personal. She loved it.
Not sure how she would feel about her face being plastered on this post,
so I did blur their faces a bit. .. LOL!!!!

Hope you all have a LOVE filled day!

February Choose Your Challenge with FBD

It's time for a new month long challenge with Fresh Brewed Designs.
This year we have started an entire new series of challenges at the Challenge Cafe called
We offer a sketch and photo inspiration piece, and YOU
get to choose which of the two you want to create with!
Choose one OR both!
I am a part of the BOTH team ;)

Here is what I was able to work with this month:

And here is the project I created:

I used the digital stamp: Lasso My Heart : Joe

I have to tell you that I did struggle with this card.
I had everything out on the table and had so many images laid out
to choose from. I had cupcake girls, coffee girls, coffee houses and
you name it! My mojo was gone!!! I started coloring up 'Lasso Joe'
(we'll call him that for short, hehehe) and thinking "What am I doing?"
If you know me, I am not much of a 'guy' card maker. I like frilly cards.
I like creating with pinks and brighter colors. This one came together really
well and I am happy with it... but I did keep scratching my head wondering
why I created it and what I was going to do with it.....

... The reason revealed itself when my husband got home from work.
I was just putting the finishing touches on the card when he came into the room.
He told me his coworker, Jake, needed a valentine for his wife and asked
if I would make him one. Jake is a REAL COWBOY. He walks the walk, talks the talk.
He has a sweet and beautiful wife, they have a whole slew of kids, and he has horses.
I looked at my husband, showed him the card and asked if Jake would want this one.
He just laughed and said it was perfect! He sent Jake a photo of it and he LOVED it too!
The inside was personalized and I can't tell you all it said, but he was quite clever using
words like "you roped my heart" and we were always  meant to be together.

Funny how things work out sometimes.
I can't help but sit and smile now that I know this card will have a happy home and had
a wonderful purpose for being created after all :)

Hope to see you play along in our challenge!
This challenge runs for the ENTIRE MONTH of FEBRUARY!
You have plenty of time to play.

Custom Design * Special Orders

I know you all know I am the owner and designer of my own rubber stamp
What you don't know is that I have another secret identity.
I am the card lady! lol
At least that is what  a few kids at dance call me.
I  decided to show you a few behind the scenes designs I have created.
Every once in a while someone will come to me and ask me for a special design
or card order. These images I draw can not be sold in the shop because they are personalized
or ... well... just because ;) There is a sweet little lady (9 year old girl) and her beautiful mother
who are always asking about and for designs. Her mom recently came to me asking about
Valentines. Her daughter and I sat and discussed designs for the longest time.
It was interesting to hear what she had planned for her cards. She KNEW she wanted a
Mickey Mouse theme. So, after carefully listening to her ideas and getting an idea of what she
wanted to relay to her friends (not too cute, not too romantic) I suggested this.. and she loved it.
So here is one of my special, hand drawn designs ...
and believe me, it was really intimidating to draw such an ionic character!!! WHEW!!!...

Mickey and Minnie Mouse Valentines:

{30 cards in all}

Sometime in October 2013
I was asked by this same lady to make her daughter a special
Birthday Card. Her daughter is also in love with Steamboat Willie
so her mom knew she wanted it to have him on it...
Here is my interpretation of a Steamboat Willie Birthday Card:

And last but not least,
Here is the last creation she asked for,
A  Jack Daniels birthday card for a 70 year old man.
She wanted it to have plenty of space for her family to all sign it,
so I made it fold out in a different sort of way.
She loved it, I hope you do too! :)

SOO there you have it.
A little behind the scenes peek at a few of my 'special order' designs.
While sometimes intimidating creating something SPECIAL for someone,
it is a lot of fun seeing the end result and seeing how much they love it!

Thank you for stopping by today!

A Little Romance

GOOD MORNING!
I am here with my SECOND post for the day!
Ok .. breathe...  I know it has been hard to get one out of me... but two!
It's a shock, I know, but we will get through this together.

{{to see post #1 Simple and Sweet go HERE}}

This card was created using the Fresh Brewed Designs (my) digital image:

This card was really fun for me to make.
I had fun putting all of the embellishments and papers together.
This paper is from the girls paperie, but I am not sure of the actual paper name.
It was from my scrap pile... in my HUGE christmas tree size box of paper.
This past summer was a very eventful one. It was good, but I had no time to create ...
so I decided to give it up. I kept out a few things.. but packed up all of m y larger papers
and put them away. I decided to ask my husband (being the big strong guy he is) to get the
mega heavy box back down for me. He, ever so lovingly did, and I apologized the entire time.
This paper was on top and I knew it would be perfect for this card.
I was really excited to see all of my OLD paper again :D

Materials:
Prismacolor markers, Copic Markers, The Girl's Paperie patterned paper,
Papertrey Inc cardstock (white and brown), homemade felt flower,
Making Memories Je t'Adore velvet leaves, Making Memories Je t'Adore brads,
Making Memories 5th Ave. trim (ribbon), and Basicgrey pearls: opaline

Challenges:
Really Reasonable Ribbon Valentine’sDay/Love&Ribbon

City Crafter 195: key to my heart

Love....

I just LOVE love!
I don't know anyone who doesn't.  ;)

There are a few bible scriptures that stand out to me when
speaking of love that I want to share with you.

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.   Romans 8: 38-39

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. – John 3:16

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.  This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.  On these two commandments…  Matthew  22:37-40

A friend loveth at all times ...   Proverbs 17:17

Love is patientlove is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.   1 Corinthians 13:4

I created a card to share with you today.
It has been way too long since I have created anything....
I have to make more time to sit and play with my paper goodies :)

This card was created using the new Fresh Brewed Designs Digital Stamp

I drew this girl 'just for me' because I wanted to.
I was having one of those days where I felt quiet.
Feelings are hard to express in words sometimes... but I just wanted to draw
something mysterious and beautiful and this is what came from that.

I held on to her for about 4 months before releasing her into the shop.
I hope you love her as much as I do :)
