So happy together..... with FBD

Hello my friends.

It is good to see you :)

I have been running like a mad woman here lately and am SO happy to get to 

stop by and chat with you a bit.

We have been rushing around with dance, visiting family, painting the house and rearranging things.

We hope to put the house up for sale sometime before or during the summer months. 

Fingers crossed it all goes to plan.

March Choose Your Challenge with FBD

Good Morning!

It is time for another CHOOSE YOUR CHALLENGE with FBD!

Freshly Brewed Challenges has had a 'challenge makeover' this year.

We are offering you a choice - therefore opening the window of your creativity 

a little bit wider. Letting your mojo flow a little bit stronger. 

We are here to take that inspiration thief and throw him in jail where he belongs!

If you feel like you have been looking for your long lost friend when you step into your crafting space,

WE HAVE THE CURE!!!

For these challenges you can use the sketch or photo as your inspiration,

or use BOTH like I did. Now, don't overthink it and let it intimidate you.

I changed my sketch up a bit and used only parts of the inspiration piece...

Emma Cupcake Digital Stamp

I flipped my sketch on it's side, changed the shapes just a tad, but to where you can still see the sketch, and 

VOILA! there you have it! A card brewed up because I was inspired by the March CYC at Freshly Brewed Challenges! Woop Woop!

I used ALL scrap papers for this card. Even the Kraft bg paper (by Papertrey Inc) 

was already cut and tossed in the scrap pile.Not sure why??? but it was there. 

I know that the teal dot paper is by Martha Stewart from a fall stack 

I purchased many moons ago. The flower is a prima flower, the rhinestones are from a kraft kit my daughter had when she was younger :), the glitter is called SPARK! by american craft. 

The sentiment stamp is from a small SU sentiment set.

February Choose Your Challenge with FBD

It's time for a new month long challenge with Fresh Brewed Designs.

This year we have started an entire new series of challenges at the Challenge Cafe called

CHOOSE YOUR CHALLENGE

We offer a sketch and photo inspiration piece, and YOU

get to choose which of the two you want to create with!

Choose one OR both!
I am a part of the BOTH team ;)

Here is what I was able to work with this month:

And here is the project I created:

I used the digital stamp: Lasso My Heart : Joe

I have to tell you that I did struggle with this card.

I had everything out on the table and had so many images laid out

to choose from. I had cupcake girls, coffee girls, coffee houses and 

you name it! My mojo was gone!!! I started coloring up 'Lasso Joe' 

(we'll call him that for short, hehehe) and thinking "What am I doing?"

If you know me, I am not much of a 'guy' card maker. I like frilly cards.

I like creating with pinks and brighter colors. This one came together really

well and I am happy with it... but I did keep scratching my head wondering

why I created it and what I was going to do with it.....

... The reason revealed itself when my husband got home from work.
I was just putting the finishing touches on the card when he came into the room.
He told me his coworker, Jake, needed a valentine for his wife and asked
if I would make him one. Jake is a REAL COWBOY. He walks the walk, talks the talk.
He has a sweet and beautiful wife, they have a whole slew of kids, and he has horses.
I looked at my husband, showed him the card and asked if Jake would want this one.
He just laughed and said it was perfect! He sent Jake a photo of it and he LOVED it too!
The inside was personalized and I can't tell you all it said, but he was quite clever using
words like "you roped my heart" and we were always  meant to be together.

Funny how things work out sometimes.
I can't help but sit and smile now that I know this card will have a happy home and had
a wonderful purpose for being created after all :)

OOOOH La Latte!!!

Good Morning!

I hope you are enjoying your new year.

I was worried there would be hiccups with blogger or yahoo or something this morning

(becuase with time changes or holidays, there usually are, 

for me anyway...

but maybe I am just special :))

Anyway, as I was saying, I was worried about hiccups, so

I got up early to get the posts up for my blog and the FBD blog. 

I had it half prepared last night and saved it, got to bed close to 3 AM

and set the alarm. I DID NOT WANT TO GET UP, lol, 

but I love you all THAT much :D

(Our New Years consisted of my parents coming over to eat homemade pizza,

leaving around 10:30, getting myself a shower to wake up, the kids playing video games and my husband watching a football game. Then we turned the TV on to see the ball drop. My daughter was sickened by her dad and I kissing. She thinks any kiss between a guy and a girl is gross right now. I pretend that I believe her. I hope this lasts a good long while! My son was uber disappointed wondering what all that was about and how lame it was and how he thought the ball should fall and bounce or something.. then open up to reveal a large amount of puppies that had been safely secured inside with seat belts and everyone in Time Square would have a puppy. Yes, that would have been wonderful :D The kids went to bed by 12:45 and I was just not sleepy anymore. I hit that wall. The one that makes your brain go DING! and I just couldn't sleep. My poor, no longer teenage body, will pay for it today I am sure. 

OK, on to the reason I am here.
