Saturday Projects

Today I started the day by going running with my old roommate Jessica Wenckus, soon to be Talbot.  Afterwards, she and I went to Tai Pan Trading, an amazing wholesale home decore store, to get silk flowers to make her wedding bouquet.

We put together a great array of gerber daisies and smaller daisies.  This afternoon, I did the final arragning of it and finished it off with a nice ribbon to cover the stems.

Lately I have also been on a cake decorating kick.  Today was my first attempt at using fondant on a cake.  Last night I had tried it on an upside down bowl.  I think it turned out very well.  I am proud of myself for making it look so good on my first time.  It took about 4ish hours but I loved it!

The pictures on here are of the bouquet and cake I made today.  Below is the progression of the cake (minus the part of cooking the cake and having the square cake fall apart, which is why it is a little uneven).

Had to take a picture to see how the flowers would look in a photo
