Favorite Craft Stores

My favorite crafty stores are:

1. Hobby Lobby
2. Archivers's
3. Micheal's
4. The Cotton Shop - in Provo, UT

Joshua and I love to just go walking through them, plan and dream.  He is such a good sport to support me in my crafts.  Before marrying him, I did not consider myself a crafty person but now I love it.  He has even joined in the fun.

This last week, we bought some acrylic paints and canvases.  We painted great pictures.  I've never painted before.  What I like about it is that you can't mess up.

Other fun projects we have learned together are:

Learning to cook new things
Gardening
Card & invitation making
Embossing
Sewing - he and I both have learned to make skits with invisible zippers.
Geneology

I love being able to let my creative juices flow and just be alright with however it might turn out.

Saturday Projects

Today I started the day by going running with my old roommate Jessica Wenckus, soon to be Talbot.  Afterwards, she and I went to Tai Pan Trading, an amazing wholesale home decore store, to get silk flowers to make her wedding bouquet.

We put together a great array of gerber daisies and smaller daisies.  This afternoon, I did the final arragning of it and finished it off with a nice ribbon to cover the stems.

Lately I have also been on a cake decorating kick.  Today was my first attempt at using fondant on a cake.  Last night I had tried it on an upside down bowl.  I think it turned out very well.  I am proud of myself for making it look so good on my first time.  It took about 4ish hours but I loved it!

The pictures on here are of the bouquet and cake I made today.  Below is the progression of the cake (minus the part of cooking the cake and having the square cake fall apart, which is why it is a little uneven).

Had to take a picture to see how the flowers would look in a photo
