Baubles & Flowers

Hi there!  Hope you all had a good weekend and your week is off to a good start. Unfortunately I lost most of yesterday to a migraine which really sucked especially as it was the first beautiful day we've had in a while.  :(  However, I got a bit of crafty time in today and have two cards to share.  For this card I used the colours from the CAS Colours & Sketches challenge and am also playing along with the Addicted to CAS Ombre challenge.  I'm also going to enter this in the CAS Christmas challenge at The Paper Players.  I paired some Altenew ornaments with a Hero Arts sentiment and added gems for a little bit of bling.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White, Textured White) Bazzill
Stamps:  (Ornaments from Festive Silhouettes) Altenew, (Sentiment from CL621)Hero Arts
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Bashful Blue, Pacific Point, Night of Navy) Stampin' Up
Gems:  Recollection

This card uses the current ColourQ colours.  Except for the sentiment these are NBUS stamps from Winnie & Walter.  I had fun putting together the flower elements and I used the reverse side of the vase stamp to "colour" it in.  Everything is popped up on foam tape at different heights for some fun dimension.

That's it for today.  See you tomorrow for CASology!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Old Olive, Chocolate Chip) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Flowers, leaves & vase from In Bloom: Lola's Bouquet) Winnie & Walter, (Sentiment from Many Thanks) Altenew
Inks:  (Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip) Stampin' Up
Glitter:  (Cinnamon Stickles) Ranger
Gems:  Recollection

Lots of Pink

Hello there!  I've got two cards to share today.  First up uses the colours from ColourQ and the sketch from MFT Card Challenges.  I love this little winged piggie - so darn cute!  I paper pieced him, outlined him with a pink marker and added some sparkle to his wings with Star Dust Stickles.  I'm also going to play along with the CAS challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Textured White) Bazzill, (White) Papertrey Ink, (Pretty In Pink, Strawberry Slush, Brushed Silver, Basic Black) Stampin' Up

Embossing Powder:  (Opaque Bright White Super Fine) Wow
Dies:  (Circle) Avery Elle
Marker:  (R11) Copic
Glitter:  (Star Dust Stickles) Ranger
Gems:  Recollections

I started out with the above ColourQ colours for this card too but the inked strip came out a lot darker than I expected.  I used the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch but I rotated it 180 degrees.  I'm also playing along with the current Time Out challenge - Theme of breast cancer awareness and/or friendship with the Optional Technique Twist of embossing and/or pink.  These stamps from Paper Smooches are part of a great set of encouraging words and images - perfect for the Time Out challenge.

That's it for today.  See you tomorrow for CASology!

I'm back with a few more cards from my crafting session over the weekend.  First is a card for the Fusion challenge.  I used the sketch but also incorporated the stripes, teal and pink from the inspiration photo.  How sweet is that Whimsy Stamps elephant?  I love his little face!

Balloons, Stars and a Boat

Hi there!  I've got a few more cards to share with you today.  First up is another card inspired by Anita over at Muse.  I wasn't totally happy with my first Muse card so I tried again and I love this one!  I stamped some Lawn Fawn balloons and then sprinkled them with Brusho before spritzing them with water.  So simple but fun and you'll never get the same look twice.  I'm also going to enter this is the Anything Goes part of the challenge at Seize the Birthday.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Watercolor) Ranger, (Black) Papertrey Ink
Stamps:  (Balloons  from Admit One) Lawn Fawn, (Sentiment from Birthday Greetings) Altenew

Dies:  (Stitched rectangle) Mama Elephant
Colour:  (Sea Green, Turquoise, Violet) Brusho
Marker:  (Smokey Slate) Stampin' Up
Gems:  Recollections

Next is a card based on the design at Freshly Made Sketches.  I love the sentiment font from the new Avery Elle Retro Ornaments set - so funky and fun!  I wanted the sentiment to take centre stage so I inked up a panel using a few stars from the set and popped the sentiment up in front of it along with some glitter tape.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Textured White) Bazzill, (White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up

Embossing Powder:  (Opaque Bright White Super Fine) Wow

Finally is a card using the palette from ColourQ.  I was inspired by Tracey's use of coloured outline stamps and so inked up the Stay Salty set from Essentials by Ellen and came up with this.  I love that sentiment!  Actually the whole set is a lot of fun and there are plenty people around here who will enjoy the images and sentiments especially with America's Cup fever building for next year.

That's it for now.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Watercolor & Cardstock

I was so happy to get back into the Craft Cave today for a good few hours.  I did 19 days in a row at work and when I'm in the thick of that I struggle to keep my mojo flowing.  Today was good though.  Despite feeling a bit rusty at first I managed to get a few cards made that I'm pretty happy with.

First up is an entry for the Addicted to Stamps and More! photo inspiration challenge.  I embossed the Skipping Stones Designs sentiment in white and then painted the background with Gansai Tambi paints.  The butterfly (also SSD) was embossed on vellum and popped up with strategically placed foam tape.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Watercolour) Ranger, (Black) Papertrey Ink, (Vellum)
Stamps:  (All from Always Here) Skipping Stones Designs
Ink:  (VersaMark) Tsukineko
Embossing Powder:  (Opaque Bright White Super Fine) Wow
Watercolors:  (Gansai Tambi) Kuretake

Next is a really simple card using the palette from ColourQ.  I paper pieced the Mama Elephant Freestyle Florals and highlighted them with markers and Stickles.  I love this Essentials by Ellen sentiment die.  I cut it three times here and covered it with Glossy Accent.  I finished it off with faux enamel dots - hole punched card stock topped with Glossy Accents!  I'm also entering this in the Just Add Ink - Just Add "F" challenge and the Simon Says Wednesday Fabulous Florals challenge

That's it for tonight.  See you tomorrow for CASology!

Whales & Flowers

Hello, Monday!  I have two cards for four challenges to start off the week.  I love this happy colour palette from ColourQ and the patterns on the sheets were perfect inspiration for the Under the Sea theme at Cupcake Inspirations.  I used some Papertrey Ink birthday banner dies (or are they garlands?  Or streamers?) to make my waves and then popped up the PTI whale and sentiment on foam tape.  It actually came together quite quickly which is always a bonus.  :)

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Blue) Paperbilities, (Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, Basic Grey) Stampin' Up!
Stamps:  (Whale & sentiment from Keep Swimming) Papertrey Ink
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Die: ((Flag Tags) Paper Smooches, (Banners) Papertrey Ink,
Markers:  (c-1, C-5) Copic
Gems:  Recollections

Next is a card inspired by the photo over at the Fusion challenge and I'm also going to enter it in the CAS-ual Fridays Florals challenge.  I stamped the CAS-ual Fridays flowers with Mermaid Lagoon Distress ink and then used some water and a small paintbrush to spread the colour around and fill them in.  Each one has a little Recollections gem in the centre.
Okay that's it for today.  See you tomorrow for CASology!

Scoops of Thanks

I'm so excited that Blogger has finally stopped tormenting me and is letting me upload photos again.  I was not a happy bunny on Monday...

I've got a bright and yummy card to share today.  I used the design from the current RetroSketches challenge and the colours from last week's ColourQ challenge.  I loved the colours and didn't get a chance to play along but I thought I'd put them to use anyway - they gave me the perfect excuse to christen these Reverse Confetti dies and stamps.  I love this ice cream die - such a fun shape and it looks good enough to eat!  I tried a few different cardstocks before I settled on vellum for the centre panel - everything else just covered up too much of those happy stripes.  That makes my card eligible for the Just Us Girls vellum challenge so I'm playing along with them too.

That's it for now.  Have a lovely day!

Green Sympathy

Hi there!  Yesterday was such a gorgeous day here that I couldn't bring myself to spend time in the Craft Cave.  Instead I went to Pilates, Luis and I ran errands and then we chilled out on the patio with Tex before going for a walk to the beach and finishing off the day with a bbq.

Today Luis went out with the boys for a bit so I did some DT work in the Craft Cave and was also able to make a couple of other cards including this one for the current ColourQ challenge.  I used Paper Smooches' Positive Strokes 2 for the green and die cut some WPlus9 leaves from vellum.  The sentiment is Papertrey Ink - one of my favourite sympathy sentiments.  That's it for now.  Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Vellum)
Stamps:  (Stripes from Positive Strokes 2) Paper Smooches, (Sentiment from Botanical Silhouettes) Papertrey Ink

Cupcakes & Lightbulbs

I finally finished my card orders today and will deliver them tomorrow!  Whoop whoop!

This first card was made using the Cupcakes or Candy topping option from Seize the Birthday and the birthday theme option from The Friday Mashup.  I paper pieced a Mama Elephant cupcake and used a Lil' Inker wonky square to frame it.  Love that shape!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White, Soft Stone) Papertrey Ink, (Regal Rose, Daffodil Delight) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Snap Life 6x6) Simple Stories
Stamps:  (Cupcake from Carnival Cupcakes, Candle & sentiment from Carnival Toppers) Mama Elephant
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Die:  (Wonky Stitched Squares) Lil' Inker Designs
Glitter:  (Clear Wink of stella) Zig
Gems:  Recollections

Next up is a card for ColourQ's One spot of colour challenge.  I needed a couple more masculine cards and thought this simple colour palette worked well of that.  The sentiment is a mash up of phrases from 3 different companies - love that!  Hoping I can get away with those 3 little gems on a guy card...

That's it for tonight.  See you tomorrow for CASology!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Daffodil Delight) Stamping' Up
