Birthday Leaves

I've got a card for 3 challenges today.  I used the sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches, the theme from Just Us Girls (Leaves) and the third column (Die cut, Leaves, Embellishments) from the Tic Tac Toe challenge at The Paper Players.  I had forgotten even ordering these leaf dies from MFT (and I confess that happens way more than it should!) so was thrilled to find them in my stash and put them to use.  I cut the leaves from some Basic Grey paper and layered them three times for dimension.  I embossed the Simon Says sentiment on an MFT stitched arch and added twine and Crystal Drops for a bit of embellishment.  I was feeling very rusty today so it took far longer than it should have to come up with this but I'm happy with how it ended up.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Oliver 12x12) Basic Grey
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Furry Cat & Box) Simon Says Stamp

Embossing Powder:  (Opaque Bright White Super Fine) Wow

Just popping in with a card for the CAS birthday challenge at the Paper Players.  I ended up making 6 cards to make use of all the rainbow stripes that were cut.  The sentiment dies are from Simon Says Stamp and Paper Smooches.  I used 3 layers of cardstock for them and then covered them with Glossy Accents.

Cardstock:  (White, Black) Papertrey Ink
Pattered Paper:  (Dots & Stripes Sorbet, Dots & Stripes Fresh 6x6) My Favourite Things

Eeeeek!

I've got another Halloween card today.  This one is for the Spooky challenge at The Paper Players.  I went for an almost one-layer card here which I very rarely do.  Despite loving CAS designs I always feel the need to pop up a few elements for some dimension.  Here I popped up the Happy Halloween sentiment and in person it makes the ghost peeking out from behind it look even cuter.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White, Black) Papertrey Ink
Stamps:  (Images from Happy Hauntings, Sentiment from The Last Bite) Essentials by Ellen
Inks:  (VersaMark, VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Orange Twist, Tiara, Lime Rickey, Grape Crush) Catherine Pooler

Bright Birthday Flower

Life has been busy and it's been over a month since I last posted so I'm glad to finally have a bit of crafty time.  Today I'm playing along with the Paper Players and Time Out.  The Paper Players gave us a Tic Tac Toe challenge and I used the first column for my card - feminine, birthday, florals.  Time Out wants us to use a coloured card base.  I've actually been trying to use more coloured card bases in a bid to tackle my cardstock stash (ha ha!) so I appreciate the encouragement here.  I haven't used these Essentials by Ellen flower dies in ages but they are perfect for some bright and cheery birthday florals.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Strawberry Slush, Crisp Cantaloupe, So Saffron, Pistachio Pudding, Wild Wasabi, Coastal Cabana) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Sassy Pants Birthday 3) My Favourite Things

Berry Heart

Today I managed to use some patterned paper that I thought would never see the light of day on one of my cards and I'm pretty excited about it!  The Fruit and Berries challenge at the Paper Players gave me the idea for it so thanks, ladies!  I used these Concord & 9th stamps for the first time so I'm also going to play along with Darnell's NBUS challenge.

Hope Your Day Rocks

Today's card is for the CAS Colours & Sketches and Paper Players challenges.  I pulled out some oldie but goodie Paper Smooches stamps and kept things simple by just stamping them on coloured card stock.  I fussy cut them and layered them up with foam tape for lots of fun dimension.

Cardstock:  (White, Black) Papertrey Ink, (Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green, Bermuda Bay) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (All from Beboppin) Paper Smooches

You're S'Whale

Today's card is for the colour challenge at the Paper Players.  I knew I wanted to use the whale from this Essentials by Ellen set but I didn't want to do my usual and pop him up on some wave dies so I went for this vent heart from Simon Says Stamp instead.  I'm not very good at using unusual colours for things (pretty sure there aren't any merlot coloured whales in the world) so it felt good to nudge myself a bit out of my comfort zone.  I ended up with two cards in the end but can't decide my favourite.  Which one do you like best?

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Not Quite Navy, Bravo Burgundy, Crumb Cake) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (All from S'Whale) Essentials by Ellen
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Night of Navy) Stampin' Up

Flower and Ribbon

I took inspiration from the hot pink flower in the Paper Players photo and thought it would work nicely with the Freshly Made sketch.  Instead of adding leaves to the flowers I used green ribbon behind it.  The flower is an old one from Hero Arts that I coloured with Copics.  The ribbon is also Hero Arts.   A friend was looking at photos of my craft room recently and asked how I use ribbon on my cards.  I said, "I don't!" which got me thinking that I really should try to use some or pass it on to someone who will.  I made two cards using ribbon today and I'm pretty darn pleased with this first one!  (I'll share the other one tomorrow).

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink
Stamps:  (Flower) Hero Arts, (Sentiment from Bigger Blooms) Papertrey Ink
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black, Memento Tuxedo Black) Tsukineko

Today's card is for the sketch challenge at the Paper Players.  Yay for using up some patterned paper and also for finally using that sentiment!  I'm pretty sure it's main reason I bought that stamp set all those years ago and I've finally used it.  Yaaaaassssss!

Today I have cards for the Paper Players challenge to use something new.  I've been wanting this adorable Essentials by Ellen pooch set for ages and finally got my hands on it thanks to a sale.  I coloured the dogs, skateboards and balloons with Copics and then fussy cut the sweaters from Reverse Confetti paper.  The Lil' Inker Designs speech bubble was the perfect size for the sentiment.

Christmas Bulbs

Today's card is for the Paper Players sketch challenge.  I seem to be making cards in threes lately but I guess it just makes sense to do it while all the supplies are out.  I love the richness of these Catherine Pooler inks - they definitely make the cards merry and BRIGHT!

I'm Not Lion!

Today's card uses the colours from The Paper Players and the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch (I turned it 90 degrees to the right).  I layered some Heffy Doodle stitched circle die cuts and popped the Altenew lion and Paper Smooches speech bubble up on foam tape.  Once I stopped dithering about which order to layer the circles the rest came together quite quickly!

I actually played with the original sketch challenge back in 2015.  Here's my card from then:

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Mossy Meadow, Baked Brown Sugar) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Lion & sentiment from Geometric Menagerie) Altenew
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko

Two Foxes

I've got two more cards from yesterday.  They're for the JUGS (Plaid) and Paper Players (Fall Critters) challenges.  I pulled out an older Lawn Fawn set that has a few adorable woodland animals in it.  This little fox is my favourite and I love how cute he looks sitting with his tail tucked up on that log.  The plaid paper is also Lawn Fawn - remember when this stuff was EVERYWHERE?  I have a bunch of it and have barely cut into it because most of it is so pretty.  Today I was brave and used two whole pieces!  Yay me!  I ended up making two slightly different cards for different occasions.  Which is your favourite?

Supplies Used:

Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Bermuda Bay) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Perfectly Plaid: Fall 6x6) Lawn Fawn
Stamps:  (Fox & log from Into The Woods, Hat from Hats Off To You) Lawn Fawn, (Birthday from Labeled Messages) Mama Elephant
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black, Memento Tuxedo Black) Tsukineko, (Baked Brown Sugar) Stampin' Up

Wavy Thank You

This week The Paper Players are looking for CAS Thank You cards.  In my continuing effort to use patterned paper I pulled out a couple of dies to create this card.  I have an awful lot of 12x12 papers.  They tend to have larger designs which don't always lend themselves to the size of cards but dies like these waves from MFT allow you to cut the papers down to size and still preserve some of the design.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Daffodil Delight) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Indian Summer 12x12) Basic Grey
Dies:  (Ride the Waves) My Favourite Things, (Thank You) Simon Says Stamp
Markers:  (Y38, E31, E37, C7) Copic
Other:  (Nuvo Ebony Black Crystal Drops) Tonic, (Glossy Accents) Ranger

Chevron Flower Birthday

I'm playing along with the Tic Tac Toe challenge at the Paper Players.  I made this using the top row (flowers, girly, birthday) but it also works for the diagonal (flowers, die cut, embossing).  I used Jennifer McGuire's ink smooshing/faux watercolor technique on a Craft's Meow flower and leaves.  I really love this look especially with the Oxide inks - such rich colour!  I added some MFT chevrons in the background for a bit of drama and a Winnie & Walter sentiment to finish it off.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Grey) Stampin' Up, (Watercolour) Ranger
