Warm & Fuzzy Wishes

It's Word Week at Just Us Girls and the word is Merry.  It's hard to believe that time of year is already upon us and that there are only 7 more Fridays until Christmas!!!  Yikes!  It'll be January before we know it.  I found a sweet little MFT kitty to wish us a merry Christmas.  I coloured him with Copics and popped him up on a patterned paper panel that's so old I have no idea which company it comes from but I made use of it and that's all that matters.  :)

Birthday Leaves

I've got a card for 3 challenges today.  I used the sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches, the theme from Just Us Girls (Leaves) and the third column (Die cut, Leaves, Embellishments) from the Tic Tac Toe challenge at The Paper Players.  I had forgotten even ordering these leaf dies from MFT (and I confess that happens way more than it should!) so was thrilled to find them in my stash and put them to use.  I cut the leaves from some Basic Grey paper and layered them three times for dimension.  I embossed the Simon Says sentiment on an MFT stitched arch and added twine and Crystal Drops for a bit of embellishment.  I was feeling very rusty today so it took far longer than it should have to come up with this but I'm happy with how it ended up.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Oliver 12x12) Basic Grey
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Furry Cat & Box) Simon Says Stamp

Embossing Powder:  (Opaque Bright White Super Fine) Wow

Batty Halloween

I've got a card today for the Just Us Girls Halloween challenge.  I pulled out my new Essentials by Ellen Halloween stamps again and went with a repeating sentiment and one image popped up on foam tape.  A simple layout but always one of my favourites.

Stamps:  (Bat from Happy Haunting, Sentiment from The Last Bite) Essentials by Ellen

Pastel Birthday

Today's card is for the Seize the Birthday Use Pastel Colours Only challenge and the Just Us Girls 6 of anything challenge.  These colours look a lot darker on the screen than they do in real life so hopefully they'll qualify.  I haven't used this Neat & Tangled die since 2015.  How nuts is that?  Clearly there's way too much stuff in my craft room if it's taking that long to get back around to things again...  Anyway since I had it out I ended up making two cards.  Not sure which one I like best... The second one appeals more to my CAS soul as there's a bit less going on but then all the colors mixed up together in the first one are kind of fun.  What do you think?

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Pretty In Pink, Peekaboo Peach, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Wisteria Wonder, Basic Grey) Stampin' Up
Dies:  (Birthday Tags) Neat & Tangled, (Bows) Avery Elle

Polka Dot Flip Flops

I'm playing along today with the Inspired By... challenge and Just Us Girls (script).  I have a lot of flip flops but none as fun as these polka dotted beauties.  (Perhaps it's time to change that...)  The challenge photo inspired me to dig out this Lifestyle Crafts die that I've had forever but have very rarely used.  (Shocker, I know).  These fun scripty Avery Elle sentiments haven't seen the light of day in awhile either so thanks to JUGS for nudging me along to dust them off.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink
Patterned Paper: (Its Bitsy Polka Dots 6x6) My Favourite Things
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Cake & Candles) Avery Elle

Flower Silhouette

I'm playing along today with the colour challenge at Just Us Girls.  I took some inspiration from Bobby and pulled out this Simon Says Stamp flower die to use in silhouette.  I then cut some squares from my new Essentials by Ellen square dies (which I am loving) and framed them and stacked them as a background for the silhouette.  Since I had all the cardstock out I used another older die (this one from MFT) and made a quick second card.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White, Black) Papertrey Ink, (Melon Mambo, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie) Stampin' Up

Floating Kitty

I've got a card today for the Just Us Girls (Float) and Seize the Birthday (Furry Friends) challenges.   Working through more patterned paper here.  Bit by bit I am determined to conquer it!  This is ancient paper from Hot Off the Press and seemed like the perfect background for naughty Newton floating off on a birthday balloon and the WPlus9 scalloped die gives it a bit of a cloud feel.

More Bright Birthday!

I'm on a patterned paper roll this week!  This card is inspired by the photo challenge at Just Us Girls.  I took my inspiration from all the bright colours including the pink flowers, green boots and blue sky.  The paper is by Reverse Confetti and I'm really loving the bright colours and fun patterns in this set - all very spring-worthy!  I'm also going to play along with the Simon Says Wednesday Anything Goes challenge.

Birthday Balloon Kitty

I've got a card today for the Just Us Girls Animals challenge.  When I'm having a slow mojo day I find myself stamping images so that they're ready to colour and die cut when inspiration strikes.  This Newton's Nook kitty was sitting in the pile of stamped images on my desk and seemed like he was all ready to take on this challenge!  I cut a scalloped panel for the sky and stamped some Papertrey Ink clouds on it. I also die cut a matching cloud so I could pop one up on foam tape along with the kitty and the sentiment to create more of a visual triangle.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Bashful Blue, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Cat rom Newton's Birthday Bash) Newton's Nook, (Cloud from Up Up and Away) Papertrey Ink, (Sentiment from Smitten Kitten) My Favourite Things

Rainbow Ridin' By

Today's card is for the Just Us Girls Rainbow Colors challenge.  These fun wavy dies screamed out at me to make a funky rainbow so I obliged.  I white embossed the Reverse Confetti bike and speech bubble on black cardstock so they wouldn't get lost against the rainbow colours.  They're popped up on foam tape and I managed to use a few large gems that have been haunting my craft space for years.  In fact I was so proud of using those embellishments that I made 3 cards just to use up different coloured gems!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Pacific Point, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  Reverse Confetti
Inks:  (VersaMark, VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko

My Butter Half

I've got a card today for the Simon Says Wednesday challenge (Love is in the air) and the Just Us Girls challenge (Valentine).  These punny food stamps from Avery Elle are totally right up my street!  I made a few CAS ones with just the heart and image on white cardstock but then thought I'd jazz this one up with some patterned paper and I love how it came out!

Speech Bubble Hello

Today's card is for the Hello challenge at Just Us Girls.  I was making another card and ended up with this colorful leftover hello speech bubble.  I couldn't let it go to waste and the JUGS challenge gave me the perfect opportunity to make use of it.  Originally I was going to mount it on a black card base but then I decided I wanted a little more pizzazz so I cut it down and put it on a Granny Apple Green card base instead.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Granny Apple Green, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Sweet Marmalade 12x12) Sassafras

Triangle Butterflies

It's a public holiday today and I had planned to have a full day in the craft room but it was too gorgeous outside.  Luis went fishing with his mates and I ended up spending the morning puttering outside with Chica and then sitting on the patio trying to finish my book.
It clouded over a bit after lunch so I did get a few cards made.  Four to be exact - same design different patterned paper.  They're for the CAS(E) This Sketch,  Just Us Girls (Triangles) and Simon Says Wednesday (Thanks/Thanksgiving) challenges.  The dies are all MFT and the paper is Basic Grey.

Two Foxes

I've got two more cards from yesterday.  They're for the JUGS (Plaid) and Paper Players (Fall Critters) challenges.  I pulled out an older Lawn Fawn set that has a few adorable woodland animals in it.  This little fox is my favourite and I love how cute he looks sitting with his tail tucked up on that log.  The plaid paper is also Lawn Fawn - remember when this stuff was EVERYWHERE?  I have a bunch of it and have barely cut into it because most of it is so pretty.  Today I was brave and used two whole pieces!  Yay me!  I ended up making two slightly different cards for different occasions.  Which is your favourite?

Supplies Used:

Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Bermuda Bay) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Perfectly Plaid: Fall 6x6) Lawn Fawn
