June Tag

This is the tag that Tim did this month - brilliant

I didn't have the appropriate die so I made my own - I did the background using Tim's technique and then utilized what I had for the rest

Painting on cotton fabric

I really love how this painting turned out and I hope you do too

I painted it whilst on holiday but prepped the fabric (an old pillowcase) before I went away. I prepped it with 2 coats of white gesso on each side to stiffen it.

I can't take credit for the drawing of the  dolphins I googled photo's and downloaded them and made rough stencils out of acetate packaging- I did tweak them to fit what I wanted

I used Acrylic paint in varying shades and affixed the fabric to my drawing board whilst I painted

I am going to frame it and then gift it to someone I know will love it

I am entering this in the following challenges

I have used MMMC 9 out of the year of challenges

Feminine

I scraped some paint on to my page then put some texture paste through a flower stencil and when dried coloured it. The flowers were "grounded" with some builders tape

I did my facial profile and then added some rub ons

The page was finished with some chit chat wording

This is my entry for the wonderful Art Journal Journey - if you have not visited there its a great place to see some brilliant inspirational artwork with the theme Masculine/feminine

Shabby Chic

I started by creating a crackled background with acrylics and crackle medium. I then added ink through stencil on the bottom corner and then texture paste through stencil on the top corner. I added some distress ink - did some stamping with the same ink and then added my pieces. The butterfly was die cut twice and then the light coloured one put through machine in embossing folder and inked.

The photo is a found relative and framed with a die cut. The wording was from the Tim Holtz chit chat words.

The lace was coloured with coffee because I am on holiday and forgot my distress spray :):)

The fabric flower was coloured with distress ink

This is my piece for the Country View Challenge

Wings week 22

Journal 52 had the prompt "Wings" this week - lots of collaging, painting and stamping going on in my Journal page . I started by covering my page with torn book pages and music sheets. I then used Dabbers to add the colour. The stamping was done using Archival Ink, my new Tim Holtz bird stamp and a foam butterfly stamp that I had die cut
