U.....Use up your stash....March at Scrapology.

We were lucky enough this month over at Scrapology to lift a wonderful page by our gorgeous DT Member Sandra Dry We were challenged to Use up our stash, so i broke out some really REALLY old stash from my boxes, it's Scenic Route 'Sonoma' and its a good few years old now LOL!It was one of my very favourites of theirs and I still feel sad that they shut down as a company....a sad loss to the scrapping world to be sure!

The photo of my lovely little family was taken whilst on holiday in Buckinghamshire back in 2011, when we visited Clivedon National Trust , its a really lovely place to visit if you are in the area.

I just cut out and layered lots of the flowers and popped on a a few half pearls and crystals, folded some edges back and added lace to finish the page.

Here is Sandra's beautiful, original page that totally inspired us....

and here is the sketch we followed and would like you to also if you choose to play along.

If you pop over to the Scrapology Blog you can see the rest of the DT's beautiful work and also the fabby prize up for offer....we would love to have you play along with us......so go get your stash out and get sticking!!

M is for Mixed Media over at Scrapology

We are scraplifting our very own design team member LINDA this month by creating a page using many different mediums together on one layout.
I REALLY enjoyed playing with this page and adding all the various layers of paint, mists, webbing spray etc

We started off with a 12 x 12" peice of greyboard, which was painted with Gesso.

I then used a harlequin mask and some Sparkle Medium in Turquoise ( thanks Linda)......
and then just went wild with Cosmic Shimmer Sprays, some sprayed, some dribbled....silver webbing spray, large chuck glitter flakes, sequins, crystals, blossoms, buttons and headed pins. I also added some denim and organza scraps.....gosh I DID enjoy all the mess and sparkle.....and discovered in the process of creating this peice....that a little really DOES go a long way.....a LONG LONG way....but it doesn;t matter does it....because everyone likes a bit of sparkle in their lives ;)

The photo is of my 2 gorgeous girls, taken in the springtime in 2011, at Abbots Wood, when we were out on a walk looking at the Bluebells.

If you pop over to Scrapology you can see all the beautiful designs that the DT came up with, they truly are stunning.....and each so very different! We would LOVE to see you enter this months challenge....you have plenty of time to join in the fun and get messy/sparkly/inky/shimmery :D. Warmest wishes ANita xx

You Make Me Smile.....

This is the 2nd layout I made for the DT at Scrapology for this months challenge....F is for Framed.
I have used gorgeous papers from Prima and the word strips from Simple Stories, plus some printed out butterflies from Swirlydoos.
I used some bright gold acrylic paint and dry swiped edges and added lots of different  colours of Stickles and scattered flat backed crystals around the page to finish it off.
The photo is one I really love of Chloe, that I took in a play area at a local P.Y.O farm. Its gorgeous in full colours as its full of denim, daisies and worn blue paint on the tractor, but I printed it in sepia tone for this lyout.

There is still time to enter the challenge over at Scrapology, so why no pop over and check out the other DT work from my lovely and talented team mates.....I am sure you will find lots of inspiration and hopefully you will create a gorgeous page yourself and join in.

Warmest wishes
Anita xx

F is for Framed....over at Scrapology!

Maria Featon was the super scrapper that we were lucky enough to scraplift this month over at Scrapology
The challenge was based on F is for Framed and this is the first of 2 layouts that I have created for the DT this month.
I used papers from the Prima 'Lyric' range, along with some of the co-ordinating crystal swirls and some irridescent lace.

The photo was taken at our youngest Nephew and God Son's Christening....such a cutie!

I raised the frame and various elements on foam pads to give some dimension to my layout.

Here is Maria's original, gorgeous layout that inspired us.

And here is the sketch that we worked from.

So, why not pop over to Scrapology and see what the rest of the DT have created....there are some beautiful layouts there.
And then wee would love to see you join in with the challenge, you have until the 5th of July to enter and there is a super kit that has been put up for the prize.

Warmest Wishes.....Anita xx

H is for Hand Stitching!

Over at Scrapology this month we have had the pleasure of lifting the work of Delaina Farr Burns, please do pop over and take a look at her blog, it's truly inspirational.
We were challenged to use Hand Stitching on our pages....and, as always, had a sketch to work from. Here is my layout that I created for the DT this month.

I have been wanting to scrap this photo of my hubby and daughters for a while now and with these lovely papers by 'My Minds Eye' from their 'On The Bright Side' collection and some garden twine I created a layout that I am really happy with :)
I flipped the original sketch onto it side for my layout.

I took the photo on the beach at Camber Sands whilst on holiday there last year, we had a fair few giggles whilst trying to get them all in the air at the same time lol.
I had previously bought a natural cotton shower scrunchie, which I cut apart and inked slightly and then layered it under the photo and pennants.

I thought the garden twine was a good idea at the time....but it was an absolute devil to sew with as it kept ripping the paper....however it was worth it in the end and I do think that it worked well with the weathered wood look paper.

OOpps....sorry, I forgot to flip the sketch back round again.....but anyway, this is the sketch that we used and would like you to use if you decide to join in our challenge....which we hope you do.
And this is Delaina's beautiful layout that inspired this challenge in the first place....gorgeous isn't it!

So, if you would like to play along, you have until June the 5th to enter the challenge, using Hand Stitching on your page and bouncing off of the sketch above......we are all really looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
Why not pop over to Scrapology and see what the rest of the DT have created.....we have lots of layouts to look at :)
Warmest wishes Anita xx

R...is for Ripped Apart over at Scrapology.

Over at Scrapology this month we are lucky enough to be lifting a super layout by Morag Cutts. You can view lots of her work by visiting her blog.
Our challenge was to create a layout using 'Ripped Apart' as the technique and lifting Morag's original layout which you can see here

Soooo........here is my layout for the DT. I used some vibrant papers and stickers from the Bo Bunny Garden Girl collection and a fave photo of mine, taken at a Scrapbooking retreat a couple or so years ago with the 5 original members of our team, The Blossom Babes ( lovely, lovely friends of mine :) )

A few close ups to show parts of the page and elements.......

I created the flowers using my Tim Holtz tattered florals die and then a small punch for the flower centre and popped in a crystal to finish it off.

The ripped apart section is created using 4 layers of papers, which were torn and then rolled back.

The co-ordinating stickers were layered in various places about the page.

Why not pop over to the Scrapology blog and see what the rest of the DT have created. We would love to see you take part in this challenge and Morag has kindly put up a lovely prize.

Warmest wishes Anita xxx
