Imagination..........Stamperia Voyages Fantastiques

For this post I have worked with some more Stamperia papers, this time from the Voyages Fantastiques range. A beautiful steampunk collection combining vintage aqua, creams and browns.
I chose a photo taken back in 2006 of the four of us, we were actually taking an autumn walk on a local beach.

I based the layout on a sheet of Wallpaper
and then took a sheet of Air Balloon . I tore the left hand side off at approx 5.5 inches and inked all around the edges, then stuck it too the left hand side of the backing sheet.
From the remainder of the sheet I cut out the balloons, wings and the adventure quote.

I love using Cosmic Shimmer Sprays and I had a good old squirt all across the page, pooling the ink in some areas and then letting them run down the page. When this dries it gives a beautiful metallic shine.

I cut various bits and pieces of paper and inked the edges, then layered them behind the photo. Some cream cotton lace was laid across the bottom of the photo.

I had a rummage through my collection of Stickles and Liquid Pearls and chose 3 colours, Dark Chocolate, Rose Gold and Platinum. Using a selection of pots and lids of different sizes to work round I added dots of each of the colours and created decorative circles in random places about the page.

In my DT kit I had a few bits and pieces of chipboard shapes, so I picked some out and then sprayed and dabbed them with Cosmic Shimmer Mists too as I felt that on this page they didn't really work staying plain.

As you can see, by adding some colour to the chipboard really makes it co ordinate with the papers.

Stamperia produce a stunning range of papers, many of which are in stock in the shop and would be great for scrapping various photos or creating beautiful cards.....why not pop along and have a look and treat yourself.

Happy Crafting

Scrapology November Challenge...lifting Michelle Logan

This month over at Scrapology we are lifting the work of the very talented Michelle Logan. I really enjoyed playing along, but I am not a fan of too much *white space* so used patterned paper and also added extras to it here and there to fill in the blanks lol. The photo is of our youngest, taken when she was aged 6 on a visit to the beautiful Michelham Priory down here in East Sussex.

The technique/challenge is to use Chipboard this month, along the the supllied sketch, so please feel free to pop over to Scrapology, where you can also see the fabulous work of my fellow teamies on the DT!....there is also, as always, a super prize up for grabs. So pull out your stash and get creating :). We look forward to seeing what you design xxx

Best Friends.....Lynn's Class Page

This is the beautiful class taught by my lovely and mega talented friend Lynn at Cardinal Colours Autumn Crop Weekend. You can see her original page and her super close ups of the beautiful details here

Although I didn't get to do my page until very recently I really enjoyed creating it. Lynn had given us all a very detailed set of instructions which were easy to follow and it helped me so much with my total lack of mojo!
The photo is of my best friend Sue and I taken at Drusillas a couple of summers ago.

I just loved the folded back corner with the flowers and doily, such a pretty touch.

And I loved Lynn's idea to make the trail of flowers down the fountain and to use Glossy accents to create the effect of water trickling down.

Thank you Lynn for a wonderful class and a totally inspirational page xxx

N is for Netting! Scrapology August Challenge

This month at Scrapology we have the pleasure of lifting a wonderful page by Toni AKA 2 Dogs, you can visit her inspirational blog here

Here is my DT offering for this month.
I chose to scrap this photo of Lauren, taken by a friend whilst she was on holiday in Italy with her Year 10 schoolfriends. It was on a day trip into Verona, where they saw several street entertainers amongst other things. She had a super holiday( her first time abroad!!) and I really must get round to scrapping more photos of it for her.

I used a sheet of MME Madison Avenue "Happily ever after" and added a doily, which I misted with 2 colours of Cosmic Shimmers. I also die cut some hinges which I painted gold and heat embossed with clear UTEE, then added butterflies and blossoms( I saw this sort of idea some time ago online but sadly cannot remember where to be able to credit them :( ). I frilled up a long strip of netting and placed behind the photo and also made a flower using the tulle netting too.

I also created 2 flowers using pink organza circles that I singed the edges of with a tealight and popped a gem in the centre. The title was die cut, I popped on a couple of organza bows and then I liberally splashed about some pink Stickles in various places to finish the page off.

Here is Toni's original lovely layout that inspired us...........

And here is the sketch we worked from.

PRIZE TIME
Jill at Cardinal Colours has come up with another fabulous prize this month.
A4 pieces of textured netting, 2 each of yellow, orange, pink and purple and Liquid Pearls in Rouge. Royal Blue, Cantaloupe, Majestic Purple and Baby Blue. ( Thank you so much for your generosity once again Jill xxx)

Y is fr Yarn over at Scrapology

This month ( much to my delight) we are once again lifting a beautiful layout by my favourite scrapper, Gabrielle Pollaco ( please do pop along and check out her truly inspirational blog)..

I have been busting to scrap this photo of my scrumptious, youngest niece, Madison and when I saw these lush new Crate Paper sheets in the Little Bo Peep collection I just knew that I HAD to use them for this challenge and scrap this gorgeous little bundle of pink fun.
I even had a go at making something from Pergamano and created the little frilly dress....not sure I really have the patience required for it though , so this is probably the only layout you will see it on LOL

The added challenge was use some sort of yarn on our pages, so I took a reel of silver metallic thread and drew stripes on it with a Hot Pink Promarker....and made a sort of Bakers Twine. I layered up various blossoms and punched out some leaf sprigs and a deco fan edge strip, then added a few dots of Liquid Pearls here and there.

I cut a circle of corrugated card ( from the front flap of a pizza box LOL,) then sprayed with a white mister and edged with Liquid Pearls

and also did a fair bit of fussy cutting of baby clothes, little chicks etc. i really REALLY enjoyed this challenge.

Here is Gabrielle's original, stunning page that we lifted............

And here is the sketch we worked from......................

Why not pop over to the Scrapology blog and see what all the other lovely DT members have created for this months challenge...there really is some truly wonderful work there.

You have until the beginning of Aug to enter this comp, so get cracking......or should I say Get Scrapping! We would LOVE to see what you create, so please do not forget to share your work with us and you could be in with winning this months prize, once again from Jill at Cardinal Colours.

Warmest Wishes

True Blue!

Hello there to anyone who might still drift along to my blog.
I thought I should upload this layout that I made at Cardinal Colours Spring weekend crop at the end of March.
I took the photo of Chloe on a visit to Sharnfold PYO last summer, we quite often visit down there throughout the year :)
In the play area they have some huge old tractor tyres that are set in the ground for the kids to clamber over, but Chloe was happier to just *chill out* on them.
I have used some My Minds Eye papers from the Stella Rose " Hattie" collection.

I printed out some butterflies that I downloaded from a fantastic forum called Swirlydoos ( you imply MUST visit! It is overflowing with awesome inspiration). I also used Stickles, Liquid Pearls and some bling to add a little sparkle to my page.

the beautiful filigree fan shape in the background was cut on the cricut expression using the Ornamental Iron II Cart....I am soooo TOTALLY in love with it!

Anyway, enough from me, I am off for an early night. Hoping for decent weather tomorrow morning so I can go and have stroll around the large local boot sale and see if I can bag a bargain.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Warmest wishes Anita xxx

Meeting Maddie....and a couple of cards to welcome her.

Well I have been to meet Maddie now...and was lucky enough to have a cuddle with ( I am such a lucky Aunti!) she is just soooo teeny, I am sure neither of our girls were that small! Although they must have been as they were both considerably smaller that that at birth! So hard to remember or imagine.

Anyway, I made a couple of cards today, one for her Mummy and Daddy and one for her big Sister and Big Brothers, so I thought I would share them here :)

The first one is for her Mummy and Daddy, I used some Bazzill Bling ( from Cardinal Colours),
papers from Basic Grey 'Blush' collection, the image is a Penny Black coloured with my Promarkers ( again all colours available from Cardinal Colours).
I have used AC Foam Thickers for her name and coated with some Stickles, also used some Liquid Pearls. The little butterflies were from a MS punch and the circular sentiment is by Craftwork Cards

And this is the card I made for Maddie's Big Sister and Big Brothers :)
It's another Penny Black, again coloured with Promarkers and with another CC sentiment. I have a large square sheet of bling and have cut off 2 strips which I used around the edge of the image and although you can't see it, the whole card is really sparkly as I have sprayed it with Spray and Sparkle....so pretty...honest!

So anyway, here she is! Isn't she gorgeous? So teeny and pretty and soft...and she has that divine new baby smell, THE best smell in the world!

Welcome to big wide world dear little Maddie, I hope its filled with love, laughter, happiness and lots and lots of cuddles....especially from me ;)

Can you tell I am smitten?

A Bo Bunny Birthday.

Earlier on this month it was my best friend's, Sue, birthday. She just LOVES the Gabrielle collection from BoBunny so it was a no- brainer as to what papers I had to use for her card :D

I decided to make and easel card and cut up the sheet called 'Cut-outs'. I then just added Stickles, Liquid Pearls, a punched leaf and a chiffon flower.

We went out and had a lovely lunch at the Yummy Noodle Bar in Eastbourne....delish!
Hope you had a lovely day Hun xxx

R is for Ribbon ~ Scrapology August Challenge

For our Scrapology Challenge this month we are using ribbons on our pages and we have chosen to lift a beautiful layout by a lovely lady called Ingrid G, you can see some more of her gorgeous work HERE
Here is my DT page ( unfortunately not a great photo of the layout, the colours are much better in the flesh!)
The photo is my youngest on the beach at Pendine Sands a couple of years ago.
I have used papers by Prima, AC Thickers ( which I have coated with alcohol inks and then Stickled), some vintage cotton lace and then threaded through some baby blue satin ribbon.
I also used a ZVA pearl and crystal swirl and made some decorative beaded pins which I tucked in behind a large Prima bloom, I also added a few more Primas and added pearls or resin flowers to the centres.

I found 2 old metal plaques with a beach theme that I have had for years, I painted them with Cream acrylic paint and rubbed it back to give more of a distressed effect.
the largish clear circle is a glass watch face cover that I have added a shell ( from the actual beach in the photo) and some small precious stones.
I made the book print flower by cutting several layers out of old book paper and scrunching them up, then unravelling a bit and layering them together before holding them together with a brad. I then just gave it a gentle misting with some Cosmic Shimmer Mist.
I finished the page off with some extra blooms and mesh peices, the thickers, chipboard sentiments and some teeny alpha stickers.
Here is the original layout by Ingrid, beautiful isn't it!
And here is the sketch that we have all worked from. Why not pop over to the Scrapology blog and have a look at the rest of the DT pages....and hopefully also join in with us this month
Once again there will be a wonderful prize that you can win, very generously donated by our lovely friend Jill at Cardinal Colours, I shall blog that in a seperate post.

So, how do you fancy playing along with us this month then?...........xxxxxx
