Sensational Sketch at Sugar Creek Hollow

Finally Saturday has arrived! I do love my weekends to craft and catch up on my sleep among other things.  Today at Sugar Creek Hollow we have a few changes and a sketch for the challenge this week.

On the Sugar Creek Hollow challenge blog we're now featuring stamps from any manufacturer but focusing on cards/projects that are vintage, shabby chic or primitive inspired creations. So to win, your entries should fit this style. In the future we'll have sponsors and feature those artists in our cards.

This week it's a sketch challenge - so please follow this sketch when you create a card for our challenge this week.

This card features the "Scripture Children" stamps from Clear Dollar Stamps - stamped in Vintage Violet ink on vanilla cardstock.  The designer papers are K&Company. Several Spellbinders dies were used:  Labels #14 and #17 and lattice dies. Tim Holtz distress inks were used: Pumice Stone and Antique Linen.

Please make it a point to visit the Sugar Creek Hollow site and see the rest of the design team's creations - it may just give you the inspiration to enter our challenge this week.  Hope you do!

Thanks for stopping by!

Be My Muffin Angel - StampFairy Challenge

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter holiday. We spent the day with my folks and sister and it was so nice to be together again. Today is the start of another StampFairy challenge and I'm excited to show you this card featuring a new release of teddy bears called "Muffins".

The Muffins are sweet, adorable angels. You can find them in the StampFairy Shop.  The sentiment is a freebie, so you'll want to pop on over and grab that one when you order one of the Muffin digi stamps.

The StampFairy challenge this week is to create a card or project using three designer papers, two die cuts or punches and lots of sparkle!

You can see that I was very liberal with the sparkles on this card - after all this adorable Muffin is an angel and angels have a lot of sparkly angel dust that follow them around!  You can find it on this darling teddy's wings, on the stars and around the image and sentiment panels. I actually used three die cuts - Spellbinders Nesties Labels #20 for the image panel, #14 for the panel behind that (in plaid) and #18 for the sentiment.

Even the designer paper has some shimmer to it. I've used My Mind's Eye "Mother Meadow" from Hazel collection of the Stella and Rose series (background panel), K&Company's "Abrianna Boho Flower Toss" (purple paper) and The Girl's Paperie "Jubilee" (plaid panel behind the main image).

So now it's your turn to show us what you can do with this challenge. Just start by popping by the StampFairy challenge blog to get your weekly dose of inspiration from our talented design team. Then link up your creation so we can see it and send you a healthy bunch of comments back! Seriously, I do hope you'll join our challenge using a StampFairy image - maybe even one of the new Muffin Angels digis!

Thanks for stopping by!
I'm entering this card in the Flutter By Wednesday challenge FBW#151.

Stamp Fairy Challenge - Lace and Hearts

Happy Monday everyone! It's the beginning of the work week and the beginning of a new challenge at StampFairy. This week we're calling for "Lace and Hearts" but we have a twist for you - no red or pink! Yep, we're going with non-traditional Valentine colors this week. Which explains my brown and green color scheme doesn't it?!!  We sure would love to have you join the StampFairy challenge this week!

For my challenge card I used the adorable "Lenny Love" that you can find in the StampFairy Shop. I paper-pieced the heart he's holding from the collection of K&Company papers "Life's Journey" that I used in all the elements of this card. A few other hearts and the lace ribbon and bow complete my challenge elements.

For the card layout, I used this sketch (SSS94) from The Sweet Stop. I'm entering this card in their sketch challenge this week.  This is the first time I'm playing in The Sweet Stop challenge and I welcome their design team to my blog!

Now for the latest releases the past week at StampFairy. Gerda, the owner, has created the most wonderful digi papers and they're now available in the StampFairy Shop. There are six collections with 10 digi paper designs in each and they're going for $2.50, a special introductory price.

New Release! Digi Papers now available at StampFairy!
And if that isn't enough, in the past week the following new digi stamps were released. I present to you Linda Fairy....

And for you bunny lovers, a new character introduction is in order... Clementine makes her debut just in time for Valentines Day....

These new digi stamp collections are adorable! There's so much going on at StampFairy, you have to check in at Gerda's blog frequently to keep up with her releases! You can visit her here at StampFairy World.

Now hopefully you're motivated to create a card or project with StampFairy images and play along in our challenge this week. We have changed the challenge rules a bit and now only allow StampFairy images in the challenges. But not to worry as there are many freebies offered at the StampFairy Shop. Enter our challenge and you could win free images - first place wins 3 images, second place wins 2 images and third place earns 1 image. What could be better than that?!

Also please be sure to visit the design team blogs and see their challenge cards and how they've used these new digi papers and Linda Fairy and Clementine Love images in their creations. You'll be inspired by their talent for sure. That's it for this long post... thanks for stopping by!

Two of My Favorite Things!

What a fun day this is - I get to show two of my favorite things today... a new Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch and StampFairy digi stamps! That's right, Gerda at StampFairy is the wonderful sponsor this week of the SSW sketch challenge.

You'll want to participate in the Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge this week for your chance to win because the Grand Prize winner will receive 4 digi stamps of their choice at the StampFairy Shop. The only hard thing about that will be deciding which adorable images to pick!  Thanks Gerda for your generous sponsorship and for the adorable images you shared with us this week to create our inspiration cards for everybody to see!

Here's the wonderful sketch this week - what fun is was to work with! I'm telling you there's no end to Arlana's imagination in creating these fantastic sketches week after week.

Isn't this monkey adorable! You can find him HERE at the StampFairy Shop. I colored him with Copics and used these fun papers from Reminisce appropriately called "Monkey Business" and "Going Bananas"! I thought this would be a fun card for "Chev", a friend of my son who has a birthday later this month. When those two boys get together there's all sorts of monkey business going on!

Thanks for stopping by today! Looking forward to seeing what you create with the Sweet Sketch this Wednesday!

Layers and Buttons - Stamp Fairy Challenge

Happy Monday! Is there nothing better than having something to look FORWARD to on Mondays? Well you can now because Mondays are the start of a new challenge each week at StampFairy.  I think it's great to start the work week with a fun challenge and a little inspiration from others!
The challenge this week at StampFairy is "Layers and Buttons" and the more the merrier I say! This is right up my alley because I love both of these design elements in making my cards.

On my challenge card, I've used NINE layers (can you believe it?!) and SEVEN buttons - and a couple of the buttons are layered too!!  And who could resist this sweet StampFairy image from the Nelly and Leo Love collection that you can find at the StampFairy Shop here.

I also used Sketch 97 from the Card Patterns weekly sketch blog as the layout design and inspiration to achieve all these layers. So I'm entering this card in their challenge for the first time this week.

Now back to StampFairy...

We'd love to have you join us in the StampFairy challenge this week and it's simple to do. Just create a card or project with multiple layers and buttons and enter your creation at the StampFairy Challenge Blog. We will name three winners from the entries that use a StampFairy image from the Shop: 1st place receives 3 StampFairy images of your choice, 2nd place receives 2 images and 3rd place picks 1 image. Challenge entries with non-StampFairy images will be eligible for our Top Three Badge and will be entered into a monthly draw for a free StampFairy image.

So you see there's lots of ways to win at the StampFairy challenge! Now, if  you need a little more inspiration, just take a peek at what the design team came up with here.  Looking forward to seeing your creativity in this challenge!  Thanks for stopping by.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday

It's the last Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge of 2010 - my how the year has flown by! We have the most wonderful sketch this week by Arlana Patten. I just know you'll want to try your hand at this sketch and enter our challenge!

Our sponsor this week is Jodie at Bugaboo Stamps. These darling, whimsical stamps are so fun to color. The Grand Prize winner this week will receive 7 digi stamps from Bugaboo. Thanks Jodie for your generous sponsorship this week!

For my card, I've chosen "Turtle Love" from Bugaboo. I was anxious to get a start on Valentines Day cards and this cute little turtle is the perfect image for that.

I've used Copic markers to give this image color and paired it with papers from K&Co that I picked up last year in mass quantity! I used Nestie oval and scallop oval dies and a Stampin Up scallop edge punch to achieve the details in the sketch this week.

I sure hope you'll find some time to play along with us at Sweet Sketch Wednesday this week. We love to see the wonderfully creative cards that are entered each challenge. In the meantime, visit our talented design team blogs to see their inspirations for you - that will be enough for you to get your mojo going for the challenge!  Looking forward to seeing what you create with this sketch!

Thanks for stopping by!

Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow

It's another sensational Saturday with Sugar Creek Hollow and today we're working with a sketch challenge that was perfect for these two Sugar Creek Hollow images called Fall Church and Fall Bingo.  Autumn is my favorite season and I can't get enough of the fall images at SCH.

Here's the great sketch that our DT coordinator Joseline designed for this weeks challenge.

I colored this wonderful SCH Fall Church image using Prismacolor pencils and then went over it with Gamsol to blend and set the colors.  It also really makes the colors pop brighter and richer.  A little bit of sparkle was added with a Sakura glitter pen.  A Spellbinders Labels 10 die was used to cut out the focal image which fits these dies perfectly.  That fabulous ribbon is also a Sugar Creek Hollow exclusive - hand dyed "Country Crinkled Ribbon" made by Tracy Vinson.

So glad you stopped by on this beautiful Fall day!

Recipe:
Stamps - Sugar Creek Hollow digis "Fall Church" and "Fall Bingo"
Paper - Scribble Scrabble "Sweet Shoppe" collection, Papertrey Chocolate and Melon Berry
Accessories - Sugar Creek Hollow "Country Crinkle Ribbon", Spellbinder Labels 10 Nestabilities dies, K&Co tapestry brad

Time to Remember - MMSC71

Another week and another great sketch at Midnight Madness!  This is my card for this week's challenge and it's for a dear friend's birthday today.  She's actually the woman who first introduced me to the world of making cards and paper crafting and is so talented in her own right.  So this is for you Shelly with many happy returns as they say!

This is the sketch to follow for this week at Midnight Madness.  When I saw it I knew I'd use this wonderful organza flower from Prima that I've had for a while. This is the perfect sketch to use those oversize flowers that you just can't resist but sometimes don't know how it would fit on a card along with a stamped image.  Well Priscilla's team figured that one out with this sketch!

I also couldn't resist this wonderful paper from K&Company called "Jubilee Teal Woman".  It's a collage-type paper and I cut it specifically so the woman would appear in the upper right corner of the card.  I combined it with the brown and pink damask paper from The Paper Studio.

Then to complete the vintage look, I used the "Time to Remember" ticket digi stamp from Sugar Creek Hollow.  It was a perfect fit for the theme of this card I thought.

Tracy has several of these ticket stamps, including a freebie, at the Sugar Creek Hollow Shoppe.  The Shoppe is filled with other vintage digis that I promise you just won't be able to resist!

So that completes this vintage card for my friend.  I hope she has a time to remember on her birthday.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
