Sail My Way

For this card, I wanted to give neon a try. I didn't have anything specifically neon, but I picked the brightest Copic markers I had and went for it.
I do love the bright, fun feeling this card has. What do you think? Have you tried going neon?
Thank you for stopping by today!

Stamped Necklace

Today's project is something different for me - jewelry.

I started out by just playing around with my Copic markers, shrink plastic, and my Quatrefoil background stamp and wasn't really sure what was going to come of it.

I first colored the shrink plastic with various green Copic markers creating an ombre effect, then stamped the Quatrefoil background. Once I had colored and stamped it, I used my Spellbinders dies to cut out various shapes and then punched holes so I would be able to hang them as charms.
I used my heat tool to shrink the plastic, added some jump rings, and then threaded the charms onto my necklace along with a few beads and some Tim Holtz metal pieces.
I'm not big on jewelry, but I do think this is a fun way to get a little more mileage out of those crafting supplies!

Thanks for stopping by today!

April Showers/Stripes {The Twinery}

I like a challenge, but I also LOVE freedom to create my way.
It's the best of both worlds with The Twinery's new challenges!
You get a simple theme to get you started and then have the freedom to create whatever you want within that theme.
Here's the current theme:
Lately I've been on a bookmark-making kick and I just can't stop!
For this challenge I started with a striped patterned paper and stamped the "April Showers" (which, of course, bring May flowers - so I added a flower, too!).
The Twinery's Blossom Iridescent Shimmer twine was the perfect way to top off this bookmark - I doubled up the twine and threaded it through the eyelet at the top of my bookmark, then took another doubled up length of twine and wrapped it around and tied a bow.
Be sure to visit The Twinery's blog where you can get all the challenge details and enter your project to win a fabulous prize!

Grow {Market Street Stamps}

{As seen today on the Market Street Stamps blog}

For this card I wanted to use the image from the Market Street Stamps Grow set to look like doodles on a piece of binder paper. I stamped the Vintage Notepad background stamp with blue ink on white cardstock to create the "binder paper".
Once I had the background and "doodles" stamped I had so much fun coloring it in. I just love the way Kim added all those extra details that make coloring fun.

For this one I kept it sentiment-free...I think that the colored image is the star of the show and can be used for many different occasions.

This sentiment from the Life Is Beautiful set is so fun all on it's own...so I wanted to make it take center stage.

Pack Your Bags {Market Street Stamps}

Today I wanted to share with you a few tips to really get the most out of your stamps.
I know many crafters out there are working on a tight budget, so being able to stretch your supplies can be a big help.

The clean designs in the Market Street Stamps line are so versatile and really lend themselves to paper piecing and coloring, which can get you a lot of different looks with just one stamp.
In addition to just coloring or paper piecing, don't forget what you can do with those great Market Street Stamps sentiments. Stamp them multiple times to really draw extra attention:
You can also mask the sentiments (to remove some of the words and create a new sentiment) or combine some words from multiple sentiments to create your own.

To change up the look of your stamped images, sometimes it just takes a little change in perspective. Try stamping off-center (or die-cutting off-center) as I've done here:
If you want to really change things up, instead of paper piecing to add patterns you can add your own doodles and designs with a pen.
These are just a few ways you can get some extra mileage from your  Market Street Stamps stamp sets.
For these three examples I've used the same supplies: stamps, ink, markers, cardstock, and ribbon. Just think of how many more looks you can create by changing the color scheme or adding in various patterned papers.

I'd love to hear if you have any other tips on how your stretch your supplies!
