Slowing Down

Our new schedule for working at the house is to meet my husband there at 4:30pm for dinner, devotions, and then we work. I love this and am so glad he's implementing this time to keep us grounded.

Last night, however, I was wiped by 7pm. Honestly, I could barely move. My arms felt heavy, my back was aching, and I was about to drop.  I felt like such a heel because all I did was vacuum rooms and take out ceiling tiles. Easy work compared to the back-breaking bending he and the bigs were doing caulking all the cracks in the wood floors to prep for painting. (it took a whole case of caulk for one bedroom. Yikes!)  Bless his heart, though. He keeps making "special" lists for me to make sure I don't have to do the hard stuff. <3

But, I have to resign myself to the fact that I am wearing out fast these days. I had one little sick yesterday, so maybe there's a bug I'm fighting that's working against me. I don't know, but I am moving so slowly it's embarrassing.

Here's a secret: I decreased my insulin last night to 9 instead of 10. I'm getting close to the end of the bottle and I don't want to have to buy another before baby comes. My fasting number was 76 this morning. That's one of my lowest. I may go down to 8 tonight and stick there. I haven't heard from my GD counselor for a month or so. Wondering if she forgot about me or what. Not that I mind. ;)

I hope you are all doing well. I'm definitely feeling my hormones swing in a big way. This week, I'm struggling with motivaiton and joyfulness. I think a big part of that is that the progress we are making on the house this week seems incremental. It's all good and will be wonderful when it's done, but the big changes are way more exciting. :)

  2. Thank you, Tanya. I took it pretty easy today. We are working to get in by the first week of May. It won't be ALL done, but our goal is to have it safe and clean and liveable by then. At least to have the bedrooms, kitchen, and ONE bathroom useable and not needing major work. :)

I am so excited about all of the work you are all doing on your house/your move etc. I have always LOVED to move lol.I would never want to move away from where we are now but if we had to for some reason,I would be excited about a new place. It's just always exciting to me. We have moved lets see,6 times since we have been married.

I hope your GD keeps doing so well!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Ugh! I just had a big long post and the two year old wiped it out. The short version... if you are getting sluggish at the same time daily, I'd check your numbers. It's normal to have one part of the day where your numbers are off. It's different for each person. As your pregnancy progresses, it can become more noticeable. Of course, it could be a virus or just plain ol' pregnancy... or doing too much... LOL! If it's those, I can't help you! *wink* Keep up the good work though. (I used to "fudge" with my insulin as well. I'm not a doctor, but I always figured a little help is better than no help. Just keep a good eye on those numbers.)

I am not like Angie. I HATE moving! I do not like "new". I am quite comfortable with the "old". We have moved 7 times since being married. Dh is wanting to move again. Me... well, not so much! I also understand the discouragement over "small" progress... but you are right... in a week or two- it'll be noticeable and it will be more satisfying. :) Keep up the good work. I'm excited to see the progress. Are you taking before/after pics. by any chance?

  6. Thank you, Brandy. I need to update on a real post, but so far my numbers have been great. Esp since I moved back to my Contour meter. I don't get it, but that meter gives me low readings, noticeably lower readings, even with lowering my insulin.

This is our 10th move. I think I like it. I like the excuse to declutter and purge even more, that's for sure. ;) This is the first time we've been able to prep the house BEFORE moving in, though. I like that even better. :)

This is a challenging journey, so your gracious encouragement is quite welcome.
