The Voice Has Little Voice # MBCTheVoice

Mahmoud Abeidah started a bidding war on the Voice. The young singer did an impressive cover for an beloved Arabic song that sent the judges to fight with each other with hands. It seems that Sherine liked this guy first and wanted him to be on her team, but Assi Hillani wanted him as well but Sherine won't let him press that button.

Saber El Robaei also wanted him on his team, but still Sherine fought for him and won. Sherine added Mahoud to her lineup of artists despite all the interest from the other judges. Meanwhile, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Libya and Palestine are not doing well and losing young men and women every minute.

But Sherine was grateful, she thanked God for allowing her to get this talent on her side. He is a good singer with a nice voice. I am not sure what is his story, but he hails form Egypt and he does look like every other young Arab man and woman in the Arab streets. The song he did a cover for is a track form Fayza Ahmed's.

TOP 10 Songs And Music Videos For This Week

Rotana released its top ten music videos for this week. This is a cool music video on the number ten spot, a party song from the unlikely place of Saudi Arabia, where Elvis makes an appearance. Mashael owned that song and shows so much energy and funk.

Balqees in her wedding song for the mother of the bride, then that hip Iraqi hit about being real is in the 8th place--thank you Waleed Al Shami. Then comes that Iraqi elder Hatem El Iraqi with his old-fashioned music video. He comes in the 7th place. Elissa is still looking in her mirrors and keeping the 6th spot. For the fifth spot you find that Lebanese romantic Wael Kfoury with all his dark charm. In the 4th place, one finds, Amr Diab being as cute and sweet as he has ever been.

The third spot is a comfortable place for Ahmed Gamal's flirty song about laughing with his loved one. Let's make space for the second spot with Tamer Hosny's drama about 180 degrees. He has a beard here and there is so much romance and tragedy. The top honor on this list goes for a lady that I do not know, seriously I do not know her. I should, she is in the top spot. Could it be that Yosra Mahnouch lady from the Voice? This is an Iraqi song that took the number one spot--second Iraqi track on the list.

The Late Tunisian Zekra Came Back To Life On The Voice! #MBCTheVoice

The Voice on MBC has four amazing vocalists, pop stars and musicians who represent the top of the food chain. They also get a large share of serious vocalists who may have the voice, but lack in other departments or lack in age.

Enter the stage Hadir, a young singer whose voice reminded the judges and the audience of a beloved legend of Zikra, the capable vocalist who was gunned down more than a decade a go in tragic events. Hadir is different for sure, but her voice has elements that we recall too well form Zikra's voice.

Haidr left a big impression on Sherine who gave her a big hug and she broke in tears upon making that connection. Hadir did chose to do a cover of a tough song by Zikra that is neither well-known or an easy performance. Hadir aced it and finally she chose to join the team of Iraqi Kadem El Saher.

The Voice Rym Mahrat "Wow!" Song @ReemMehrat

Syrian vocalist Rym Mahrst from her fame on the MBC Produced The Voice returns with a new single. Wow....dear sweet God, this is such a flawless song from a lady that I knew little about. I should not be surprised maybe because Syria has the world's best Arab vocalists. Rym was on team Assi Hallani and the experience has allowed her to get close to the music industry. Rym sounds very good. It's not about a strong voice with her, it's about character, and sounding authentic.

While she does look young, her voice makes her sound like someone who has lived in the golden era of Arabic music. Perhaps, she owns a time machine that she puts to good use. For me, it's her emotional depth and complexity that drew me to her. Also, if she wants, she can make her voice sound like that of the legendary George Wassouf (Watch here)

Rym is great, she is one ore great artist hailing from the enchanting city of Damascus. I wish her well and hope one day I will see her perform live in a free and a united Syria.

Why Must Iraqi Qusai Hatem Sing? We Would Never Know

Two years ago, a young man appeared on the Voice and it was mentioned that he is the son of popular Iraqi hit-maker Hatem El Iraqi. The name is Qusai Hatem and he is out with a new music video that sounds straight from the streets of Baghdad.

Rotana financed this music video for the young artists who spends a great deal of time running and doing corny things people in love do. I think this is supposed to be a big hit for the young artist. I like the location where this has been filmed, I just do not get what's special about this young man.

The lyrics are cheap and lack that clever thing, there is nothing original here. We have seen this music video thousand time before. I want Qusai to excel and do just fine, I think he can do better if he wants to come near what his own father has accomplished.

The Colorful Iraqi Musican From Austria Rita Mofsisian

The MBC version of The voice--produced by Lebanese Saudi venture introduced us to many talents, some are fine voices, some are original voices, some are amazing personalities, some can sell albums, some can take you to cloud 9 once they sing something. One of these voices is Iraqi Austrian musician and vocalist Rita Mofsisian  who sounds like one of the original Iraqi gypsy kings.

Rita is not short of confidence, and she knows she is not competing for votes, she just wants to entertain. She only got the attention of Iraqi super-stat Kadem Al Saher whose chair turned, the rest of the coaches, did not bother. Rita is native of Baghdad, who spend the bulk of her time in Vienna living and working on her music career. She explored a number of styles form around the world--she seems to be influenced by Iraqi oldies and Flamenco music. Aside from music, she had a degree in business where she used to hold a number of day jobs.

Her first song came at the age of 10 and ever since Rita has been singing when given a venue. In 2003, she started working on unearthing old Armenian and Iraqi folkloric songs. She has also an interest in Jazz and has performed in many occasions at her home in Vienna. This makes me think, her voice is a perfect tool for intercultural events and folksy festivals around the world.

Saber Rebai Dishes On Music, The Voice, and His Album

Aside from his music, he is known for his ex-wife and his current wife. He is Saber Rebai and he means business and entertainment. A Tunisian who is a rock star and now making the transition into an elder of Arabic music. He is a beloved artist within Rotana who booked every billboard in town. He also occupies a chair on the Voice.

He is a little drama sort of guy. I like to hear him speak, his dialect is pretty special. He has a new album out out and it seems to have landed well. He and the couches on the voice took some heat for not being warm toward Ricky Martin--Saber said they had their mics off that moment. I think Arabs are sucking up to foreign celebrities.

I like how he talked ab out romantic songs--pretty powerful song that shows his quality voice. He has a new music video as well.

"Love" The New Dark Emotional Single By Engy Amin From The Voice@EngyMohamedAmin

The MBC produced The Voice featured many bright vocalists. It's becoming a place where the serious talents go to get their names circulated and their talent given the seal of approval. While only one can take home the title, many have done well for just appearing on the program.

Take for example Engy Amin from Egypt. She just released a fresh new single where it's a lot more focused on her vocal flexibility, range and emotions. Engy Amin  has a new album, this is the song that will give us a taste. She has been working with a label company, but the song is now released via the Mazzika network.

I recall the judges on the program loved her voice and appreciated the size of her talent. Sherine Abedelwahab and Kadim approved oer her voice.

Kareem, The Presentor of The Voice Speaks About His Gig

At first he was a beloved Egyptian actor who took challenging and indie roles, he made a great villain. This is Mohammad Kareem, the guy who is still the presenter and the host of the MBC produced The Voice, filmed in Lebanon. He was a surprise pick, but I guess he is Egyptian and that's good for marketing. This is the second season for him on the show--he has said he may not comeback. But he has also been talking about being part of an international film project, and he is promising surprises to his fans.

He seems like a nice guy, but I do not know why he is treated as a celebrity intellect. He just gave an interview, talking about the coaches and his friendship with the four of them. How hard is his job? It's not like he is doing it live, it's all pre-re recorded and things are easy....It's not just business, they look like they are great friends--I am sure when they have time.

The crew of the show have to have a level of chemistry, some drama goes a long way--I am looking at you Arab Idol.

Wow Nour Ireksousi Just Wow For Her Most Perfect New Single @IreksousiNour

The Voice had no idea what it has unleashed on the casual music fan. By featuring Syrian vocalist Nour Ireksousi on their MBC program, no one saw the storm coming. This is one hell of talent storm. First she dazzled with her performances for western pop songs, then she blew us all away miles when we heard the powerful voice doing Arabic songs.

I do not know what makes Syrian vocalists superior to other Arab artists--all the ones we know are excellent and have a lot to offer. Unlike many big names, they do not lack the talent and emotional depth and complexity.

Nour is ready to stand on her own as she released an original song that is just so perfect. Flawless is more like it and it's all built around her mighty vocals and driven passion that acts like a fuel that makes this song everlasting. This is her second single, but first serious stab at building a music legacy that defies borders. First song is a pro Syria song that was a hit in some circles. This new song of hers is a sweet romantic song that does not lack a single thing. Released a week before Valentine Day.

A bit about the artist, she can sing in in both Arabic and English. Her journey with music started in  2006 in her homeland Syria, performing with many bands and experiencing different genres of music like Arabic, Jazz, Funk, Pop, and Rock music .  Late 2012 ,Nour took part in the famous and serious TV program /The Voice/  which made her the name she is now. She is based in Moscow, Russia now which is confusing.

"If I Had A Plane" Song By Mohamed Al Fares @MohammedFares84

The artist had me right away with this bizarre and fresh title. This an Iraqi song and he manages to keep up the Iraqi pop music tradition by falling for a blonde. Girl buys a small car, then the car breaks apart in the middle of nowhere. A handsome jogger stops by and attempts to fix her car. Instead a bike comes from thin air and they take a stroll in the rain!

This is the latest song by the Voice star Mohamed Al Fares who shot this music video in the Southern part of Lebanon with director Adel Sarhan. Mr. Fares does headline concerts in places like Jordan for the thousands of Iraqis who reside over there.

I do not find this song catchy, I like how the singer sports some the white headphones and the noise comes and never leaves your speaker. This song is like a good salad, they tossed so many things together that came back with an unrecognizable product. I am sure Iraqi music legends are rolling in their graves when they see the current state of Iraqi music (and politics)

Mohamed Al Fares can go back to his guy friends and brag about how much fun he had filming this music video. For most, this song will change little. Sure the dance beat is not terrible, but it's dated.

Hiba Tawaji Gets A French Standing Ovation On The Voice #France (Video) @hibatawaji

Hiba Tawaji took her voice to The Voice, but no, not to the Arab one, the French one. I guess it must be that the Arab world is too contained for her larger than life talent. While she might not be the first Lebanese to grace (and dazzle) the French music scene (watch the first one here), she comes with a longer track record.

This appearance came as a surprise, as Hiba comes from a solid theater background, and some serious three albums. She has collaborated with the famed music powerhouse that is Rahabni household. Now she went to France and dazzled the judges with her hit Arabic song. I like that she plays to her strength, her Arab pride, and her Arab fan base.

She has sang in other languages before, and she has done very well, but nothing get her to scream from the top of lungs like her classy Arabic songs. She did get her standing ovation and she electrified the audience. Watch her be comfortable with her French, and her brilliant performance.

I trust she did this appearance for kicks and to get a validation that her voice has a crossover appeal and charm that defies the language that limits.

WATCH: Assi El Hallani - Ajmal Al Ashyaa Music Video

Assi Hallani is so desperate for a hit, he would try anything. He tired to sing with guys and women have his age, but that does not last very long. Now he is singing for horses. We know he loves them so much and he calls himself the knight of Arabic music, the family man is horsing around with a young model on the beach then on a fancy car....

Now he is singing in classical Arabic to appease his fans in the Arab world, but mostly the ones in the Gulf who paid for the song including his wardrobe. Now online he has more than 3 million friends mostlry from his past and from his judge chair on the Voice.

Talal composed the music, but the best part is not actually not the lyrics nor the music, but the location and the cinematography. The song is about the best things, or most favorite of things and people, he gives that title to the loved one who is standing alone in the balcony.

I think the music and the music video do not sync right, and Assi does not even look like Assi anymore, but he wants to pay the bills so he has taken the Gulf dialect.

When Simor Jalal (The Next Kadem) Met Abdullatif Al-Shaikh (Video) @SimorJalal

Simor Jalal captivated everyone who saw him on the Voice, he traveled far and his charm stayed close to our hearts. The son of Baghdad, and student of its music institute found a poet who believes in his talent and things got nice ever since. Not to be overlooked is his high-regarded musician status as he writes music as well. He has already shown that the internet loves him.

A singer is not much without good lyrics that shows off their vocal muscles. This is a well-written poem about making choices, and deciding if you are in a relationship or not. Simor wants to know or he wants to have a Determine The Relationship. The music video feels a lot like Kadem Al Saher in "Akrahoha". But this wonderful thing is that Simor may be a new Kadem Al Saher in the making.

He is so handsome, in a very classy way, this is really good. For a young artist he has not gone for cool, instead he wants to be cool by being good at what he does. While he has done few singles, this new song by Saudi poet puts him at a much higher place. The poet is Abdullatif Al-Shaikh, The poet wrote something that blends Arabic classical poetry with contemporary feel.

Other Arab artists who sang some of his poems are Kadem Al Saher, Ahlam, Carmen Soliman, Assala, Mohammad Abdo and so many others. It's always a romantic tale where the love interest is stuck in the middle unsure what move to take next.

The Arab Who Dazzled The Turkish "The Voice"

Karima Gouit did not hold back, she knew she was out of place, she did not speak the language of Turkey, she tried and she got a spot on the program. The Moroccan lady who appeared on Star Academy's 8th season did not win the title. So she took a different route, she auditioned for the Voice--the Turkish edition and did she wow them?

She really blew me away and from the looks of it the judges were pleasantly surprised by her mighty voice and her authentic style. Karima performed an Arabic song that originally had a Turkish melody, and the moment she held the microphone, the panel of judges all turned to enjoy her live performance. Karima made the cut and picked a couch.

Aside from her amazing voice, grace and warm personality, Karima is a very gorgeous lady. One more thing, she sings in more than one language--see her English covers.

Let's not forget the Lebanese who appeared on the French voice, Aline Lahoud went far and did a wonderful job.

After The Voice, Marwa Naji Sings For TV Dramas

As a rule of thump, Egyptian musicians prefer to work with local artists from home--they prefer their countrymen over all the other nationalities. Unless, more money is involved or the non-Egyptian artist is a sexy one. Now The Voice from MBC has a rare Egyptian talent Marwa Najy, she can really sin, carry a tune and hold her breath.

So for one Egyptian drama, they ask her to record the opening and closing credit songs. This is awesome when they give attention to young talents who are really gifted and smile like Marwa does. I know hundreds of young Egyptian singers, very few of them are as talented as Marwa, and even fewer are as marketable as she is.

Marwa Nagy @marwanagy82 From The Voice To Adam's Apple

Marwa Naji returns this Ramadan with an excellent track for a TV drama.  I now know where she is missed, one of the greatest and best young vocalists out there. Fresh from the Voice's first seasons, her name was made into the big list.

Marwa joined team Saber Robaei during her stint on the program, this song she made it hers, and Egypt has been blessed with her talent. The song is for the TV drama "Adam's Apple" check out her new track and appreciate it the smoothness and the wisdom the song offers.
Khaled Hammad composed the music for this masterpiece.

The artist and the song are unique but I cannot help but think of the voice and style of Ghada Raghab. I like the softness Marwa voice's comes in combined with overpowering strength.

Iraqi Simor Jalal From The Voice Retruns With A New Single

The Voice contestant Simor Jalal, the young and friendly Iraqi vocalist releases a new song with the catchy title "Your Love Is Civil (Sophisticated)" He sounds like these super emotional Iraqi artists whose voice has about 5000 years of civilization backing them up. While another Iraqi took home the title of the Voice, Simor took back with him the memories, the connections, and the name recognition.

Simor actually studied music in Iraq in the year of 2004--a tough year where he learned to play four instruments among which is the oud and the violin. Simor joined the Saber Robae team on the Voice. But you know what he is actually able to sing in seven different Arab styles and dialects and he is able to sing in Turkish as well. so here's Simor, invite him into your life.

Listen: Marwa Nasr Ft. Samer Abo Taleb - Ahsan Halaty

I like Star Acedemy Marwa Nasr, and love The Voice Samer Abo Taleb. Put them together and you are supposed to get good duet. Marwa is the female fatale of pop, and he is that skinny guy whose voice shows maturity. They joined forces and teamed for Ahsan Halaty, I am in the best state of conditions.

A love song about completing one another. This is the social media track and video shows how much likes it's already getting. The music is a downer for me, but the song itself is entertaining. I love both artists and think they bring something awesome to the equation....it's like each says his lines and then the producer has to stitch the song together.

the song is nice, but I feel it does not allow the artists to shine for a long time. I mean they both have better voices than the song permits through. So, I like the song, but I think there is more vocal muscles that were not tabbed.

Mourad Bouriki Live @ Mawazine Music Festival @BourikiMourad

Morocco is so proud of Mourd Bouriki who won the Voice last year with his impressive voice, that voice that brings back to life many of the forgotten classical songs from the Arabic music library. Mourd Bouriki performed live at home at his country's biggest music festival. He is a Tarab artist which means his songs are not about dance, but rather letting the songs into your soul, while you sit back and reflect. It's a slow-cooked entertainment for the grownups not for those who like to drown the night away in energy drinks.

The live orchestra was a big help for Mourd Bouriki, I like his voice and style. The challenge, it;s not easy to market oldies, even the goldie ones. You cannot make money in it, Mourad is working on his craft and hoping to do more of his songs to leave a legacy, but so far I have not seen a serious effort. Even tough he has some serious backing, it's not easy for a Moroccan male with an impressive voice to find new material.

This song has its fans, there are millions of people even not Arabic speakers who like this style.
