Image
Assalamualaikum :) There was a not-so-new chef-owned restaurant at Jonker Walk area. The cafe restaurant is owned by Chef Ibrahim and serves guaranteed halal western cuisines. So no worries for Muslims out there when visiting Jonker Walk :D The alley where the restaurant was. The front door. The restaurant was very spacious. There were also other eating area but I didn't take any picture as there was a shooting took place. Some of the simple interior of the restaurant. The menu list. The cashier and also the drink counter. Caesar salad with teriyaki chicken (RM18.90) The dressing was very delicious. Teriyaki chicken with pasta (RM18.90) The crunchiness of the veggies suited the pasta well which made it tastier. The portion was quite big so it took me a lot of time to finish it! Honey lemon tea (RM8.90) The tea was served hot and with fresh lemon. Pina colada (RM9.90) A Hawaiian drink which had both...

Caffe bene @ Terminal Pahlawan

Image
Assalamualaikum :D Caffe bene is a cafe chain based in Seoul, South Korea. It's main speciality is patbingsu which is a shaved ice containing red bean paste. Other specialities include gelato and waffles. As for now there are only five Caffe bene chains in Malaysia with the one at Melaka just opened last December. Hi Kim Sohyun :P The table setting.  Ohh well, I love the trees! The kitchen area. The food that available here been displayed. The other eating area. The waiting buzzer that will ring once  your order are prepared. Strawberry bingsu (RM12.80) They were various sizes of the bingsu and as for me, the small ones were more than enough. Cookies n cream bingsu (RM12.80) Fyi all the bingsu here contain red bean but surprising enough that  the red bean goes well with the cookies n cream flavour. Cafe mocha (RM12) Coco nuts waffle (RM14) Even the waffle was a bit small but i...

Disclaimer: This post is about a cafe with no halal certificate. I bet you guys will be surprised. "What??" "NON-Halal, so why you post it here?!" Please continue reading for explanation. Assalamualaikum :) To commemorate my last food hunting before this Ramadhan, I went to De Reve Saloon Cafe. Yeah.. It was a saloon cafe!! Located at Taman Kenanga, De Reve Cafe serves desserts and other starters like pizza. I knew this cafe from a friend who always came here. Till now I don't even have any idea if this cafe is the only saloon cafe in Malaysia or not. Before coming here, I had made some research about this cafe including a phone conversation with the cafe manager. In the conversation, I had asked the manager few questions to know his understanding about halal. After the conversation, it was concluded that their desserts are halal as they did not contain alcohol or any porcine based ingredients. Knowing this, I came to the cafe with confidence and I onl...

Tous Les Jours @ Bukit Bintang

Image
Assalamualaikum :) My friends have introduced me a French bakery named Tous Les Jours (pronounced as Too-lay-jors) which means 'everyday'. Tous Les Jours (TLJ) is a French inspired Korean bakery that serves various kinds of breads, pastries, cakes, sandwiches,  coffees and beverages. There are many branches of TLJ in Asia and United States, and currently there are two branches in Malaysia which is at Wolo, Bukit Bintang and Jalan Telawi, Bangsar.  I came to TLJ Bukit Bintang twice so there are lots of pictures to be shown. We were welcomed with the sign on the bicycle. Do not be surprise.  The place was HUGE! Many types of buns and pastries were available. Sweet doughs like breads and doughnuts were also there. Cakes, mini cakes and macarons!  Despite being huge, this bakery had a modern and classic French interior. You can choose to eat wherever you want for example, on this sofa. Or here; ...
