Penny's Challenge #290: Anything Goes

Good morning stampers! I hope everyone's week is going well! Doing a little catch up blogging, as I keep starting these posts and not finishing/posting. Where is my poor brain? If you have seen it, PLEASE return! It seems I need it... ;)

Today's card features 3 Little Summer Girls from All Dressed Up. They are SO sweet! I especially love the sweetie in the hat.

The picture did NOT show my sketchy sky very well. I colored these beauties with Prismacolor Pencils, including sand and sky for their day at the beach. The sky was light and cloudy, and no matter what I did I couldn't make it pop in the photo. But, I DID do it! I was actually pretty pleased with how it turned out.

I followed a sketch for this card, VLV Sketch #1 for August 2016.

I've added some clouds across the background panel from my new Lawn Fawn die set (finally got it!), and some lace across the bottom just to show that you can be girly and still have fun in the sand too! ;)

Loves Rubberstamps #151: Add A Sentiment

Good morning stampers! It's Tuesday, and that means a new challenge is up over at the Loves Rubberstamps challenge blog! Challenge #151: Add A Sentiment. Doesn't get much easier than that! There are prizes to be won, so get out your toys and play along with us! This week's sponsor is Lacy Sunshine - I *adore* her images! Someone is going to be very happy after this challenge week!

Here is my creation for today's great challenge, using this pretty silhouette flower arrangement from PPRS. I thought the main image panel was a bit too bare, so I changed my plan for the sentiment and added it directly to the blush layer above the flowers.

Come and Get It - Got Flowers?
Eureka Stamps - #140: Flowers
Great Impressions - Celebrate Spring
Digi Chooseday - #19: Flower Power

Simply Papercraft #4 with Bugaboo Flowers

TGIF crafters! I have had a very nice week (it's Mother's Day week, after all!) with some great crafting time, and today I'm sharing a new card for Simply Papercraft. Our bi-weekly challenges are ALWAYS "Anything Goes" with an optional theme. I can NOT believe we are on challenge #4 already! Where did the time go?? This week's challenge is "Clean and Simple (CAS) and is sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps. As always, fantastic prizes are up for grabs! Free stamps? Yes please!

I used this absolutely gorgeous and elegant silhouette image called Dandelions and Butterflies. Now, hubs HATES the dandelions, and darling Son #2 loves to pick them and give to mama. But me, well, I just LOVE this image! (Anyway, someone tell hubs that yellow is pretty!). ;)

I think I did pretty well for our "Clean and Simple (CAS)" theme. Usually I can't stop adding stuff. But, a few spots of color on this lovely scene (couldn't resist!), some depth and dimension with foamies and embossing folder...and viola!

I have been playing around a bit with my photography for cards this week (and my photo editing!). What do you think? I'm having a bit of fun with it, but I'm feeling like there's definite improvement in the card's presentation!

Challenges for today:
Bugaboo Stamps - May Anything Goes
Verve Inspiration Challenge - May Flowers
Sisters of Craft - May Anything Goes
Tuesday Throwdown - #243: Flowers for Her

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to link up your lovelies on the Simply Papercraft blog for your chance to win! Stamp happy!

Saturday Challenge FUN!!

Wow, Saturday already! Our Spring Break week flew by...and we weren't even that scheduled! The boys and I had some very fun days though, and even some crafting time as you can see below. :) I *heart* them and I *heart* being back in the stamping groove!

As part of diving back into my craft, I've been back to surfing some of the lovely blogs out there, and picking up interesting ideas, inspiration, and challenges for use in my own studio. I made this card on Thursday evening, but yesterday was so packed I didn't have time to blog it. So a lovely Saturday bonus instead!! I'll take it ;)

Here is the card I made, inspired by Verve's April Inspiration and Viva la Verve April Sketch for week #1. I combined it with a few other challenges too (below) as the card evolved.  I had actually colored another image with a different sketch in mind, and then I saw the verve colors and I thought "oh I have the PERFECT idea for this!!!"....I ended up hopping between the two cards a bit and at one point I confused myself so much on which papers were supposed to go where I just have to burst out laughing. hehe! Once I got back on track I finished both of the cards and called it the BEST stamping day of the year!

I can't tell you enough how much I ADORE this bunny image from Time 4 Tea Designs. When I saw it for the first time I actually went "squeeeeee!!". True story! So SO cute. He's a digi, so I printed him off on Papertrey white cardstock and colored with a whole pile of Copics. The sentiment is from Paper Pretties, I broke it up so I could use both the leaves and the tag to make the sentiment section.

Here is the inspiration from the amazing Julee at Verve - April Sketch #1 and April Inspiration:

Supplies:
Patterned papers from Basic Grey, Die Cuts With A View, and Stampin' Up
Papertrey white cardstock
Copic Markers
Stampin' Up Baja Breeze Ribbon
Baker's twine in pink
Martha Steward rose leaf punch
Time 4 Tea Designs: Somebunny Loves You
Paper Pretties: Sentiment from Birthday Sentiments
Self-adhesive pearls
Basic Grey button
Karen Foster Scrapper's Floss
EK Success border punches
Tag from Studio G

I chose birthday for this creation to play along with some other fabulous challenges this week. I have so much fun linking up and checking out other ladies' amazing creations too! Thanks for the ideas and inspiration everyone! :)

TIOT39, VLVOCT01 - Elisabeth Bell Ornaments!

It's Tuesady!! Do you love it?! We have another fantastic Try It Out Tuesday challenge from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design for you today! This week's challenge (TIOT39) is to use one of the new Special Edition Ornament Collection by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD images in a unique or non-traditional way. Put on your creativity caps!

I loved this fun sketch challenge with a twist from Verve this past week (VLVOCT01), so I decided to use that for today's TIOT. It was perfect for this gorgeous new image from Elisabeth Bell for SCACD - Partridge in a Pear Tree.

I decided to omit the ornament outline and the partridge from the image, just to be different. I did that, stamping the remainder of the image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on PTI white cardstock and coloring with Copic markers. After she was colored up, I cut her out with Labels 4 Nestabilities and added sponging with More Mustard and Always Artichoke ink for that vintage/shabby chic look, it was the "twist" for this challege. A lil' lacy border punch, and cnce again I used the Bow Easy from the SCACD store to make my bow, have I MENTIONED how much I looooooove this gadget?! It has rocked my ribbon world!

Be sure to check out the SCACD store blog for lots more ornamental inspiration! I hope you play along with us this week, we LOVE to see what you create!

Let Them Eat Cake!

TGIF! How is everyone today?

I wanted to share a card I made a couple of weeks ago for one of the February Viva la Verve challenges. This one called for a monochromatic creation using this sketch layout. I went with blue, and my colors are Not Quite Navy and Baja Breeze. The stamps are a mish-mash, the main image and horizontal background piece are images from Impression Obsession, the vertical background piece is {Little Paper Shop}, and the sentiment is from Stampendous. I made the grid background with my Scor-Pal.

Not much to it, although somehow it did manage to take me forever to make! Hope you have a great weekend FILLED with stamping! Be sure to stop back tomorrow for the Unity Stamp Co. World-Record Blog Hop! I am participating!

Anki's Sweethearts - Catherine with Butterfly

TGIF, huh?? Today I wanted to share a card I made last week for the Viva la Verve February challenge over in the Verve Splitcoast Forum. I had just gotten this FABULOUS image from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design and I was DYING to get it inky. The image is from a new, exclusive line called "Anki's Sweethearts" and can only be purchased from SCACD. They were designed by Anki Bargman - I think they are just the sweetest!! This one is called Catherine with Butterfly. Who can resist an image that has "with butterfly" in the name??

I used this VLVFeb02 sketch with a twist for this project. The twist was to NOT use patterned paper {which is a shame because I had some all picked out!!}. Here is the sketch:

So, as you can see, no patterned paper. I did run the Groovy Guava and both the Ridinghood Red panels through my Cuttlebug though, to give it a little something for definition. The Guava cardstock DOES match the pinkish-coral color I used on her dress, even though it doesn't look like it in the photo. :) I colored her with my Copics, added the double-layer of ribbon and some self-adhesive pearls per the sketch. The horizontal layer is on dimensionals and so is Catherine.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you have a great day and a good kickoff for the weekend! Don't forget to enter my blog candy, HERE, I will draw the THREE winners after midnight on Sunday. See you tomorrow! I might even have another giveaway then, so check back and see. ;)

RoP Challenge #6 & Blog Candy Teaser...

Yay!!! It's the weekend! It's extra-special for me because today is Mania day!! Heather, Jess, Janna and I will be at Archiver's this afternoon & evening until they kick us out! I can't wait, I think I might be worse than my DS #1 waiting to go to Chuck E. Cheese, LOL. Well, it *has* been 6 weeks since our last girls' night so I guess I am entitled. :-)

But first, today's card! I think this is my favorite Whiff of Joy image. She's just so sweet! I made this card for the Roses on Paper Challenge #6 - Love & Friendship. The little sentiment is from Pink Cat Studio {I love Pink Cat - I buy mine at Limelight Papercrafts}, it was too naked without a LITTLE something there. I also used the Viva la Verve February #1 sketch on this - here it is:

My embossing twist is the Cuttlebugged Swiss Dots piece under the main image. I had to mirror-image flip this one, for some reason I didn't like the girl on the right side of the card. The pearls kinda blend in with the patterned paper, but they are there! I pulled the colors on this from the inspiration piece from this week's Twinkling Tuesday challenge.

I need to go finish packing up my stuff for tonight's stamp-a-thon, but before I got, a TEASER for you...

Tomorrow, I will be having some very cool blog candy, along with an overdue review of a very fun book I recently read. You know me, the only thing I love {almost as much} as stamping is reading!! But what does my stamping blog have to do with a book review, you may ask? I will give you a hint...a great {fiction} story detailing the adventures of a papercrafting genius, complete with drama, intrigue, laugh-out-loud jokes and CRAFTING TIPS. Oh yes! Check back tomorrow for the full reveal, and as I promised, *very good* blog candy. Thanks for stopping by today!

Supplies for card: Stamps from Whiff of Joy and Pink Cat Studio. Pink Pirouette and Handsome Hunter c/s from Stampin' Up!, GP 110# white. Basic Grey Urban Prairie DP. Pink grosgrain from RABOM. Cuttlebug with Swiss Dots folder, Classic Oval nestabilities and tiny tags dies. Kaisercraft pearls in "Snow". Scalloped border punch from SU, Koh-i-Noor pencils, gamsol and blending stumps, Copic markers and dimensionals.

MTTSC11 - Twinkling Inspiration!

Well Happy Tuesday everyone! I am thrilled this morning because we don't have to GO anywhere! Ever since we got home from our awesome Florida vacation it's been one thing after another with the house and the kids, we just run run RUN all day! But today we don't have anywhere to be and it's a GOOD THING.

So anyway, Tuesday means Twinkle Time and another challenge from Miss Madelynn! This week I am the FEATURED STAMPER over at the Twinkling Tuesday blog, check it out! Instead of the usual sketch challenge, we have an INSPIRATION challenge for ya today! The scrumptious mug in the photo above is the inspiration. Could you not go for a yummy minty whipped coffee or chocolate drink right about now?!?

I combined this challenge with the fourth Viva la Verve sketch with a twist for February, which was to use acetate somewhere on your card, along with the sketch provided {below the card}. FUN! I went with acetate as the card base, colored the cupcake with Copic markers {of course}. Both of the patterned papers are from Basic Grey, the green is the new Porcelain - *swoon*. {Public Service Announcement - I buy all my Basic Grey 6x6 pads from Limelight Papercrafts. Kaisercraft Pearls and Rhinestones too. Mandy has THE BEST prices and she ships out really fast. Click, click, boom, right to your door and into the stamp room before DH even knows the mail came! Can't beat that!}.

And here is the Verve sketch I based it on:

So, head over to visit the rest of the Twinklettes and be sure to leave some love! {Links on the left sidebar}. I am excited to do the blog rounds myself and see everyone's interpretation of this inspiration piece! If you play along on SCS or PCP, use the keyword MTTSC11, and be sure to link up your creation over on the Twinkling Tuesday blog so we can all see it!

Club Anya Meets VLVJan04!

Happy Thursday! I promised I'd be back and here I am! I have my final Viva la Verve card for January - this is VLVJan04 {with a twist of flowers}.

As soon as I saw it I knew it was a perfect sketch to feature the fabulous Anya from The Greeting Farm. This is Teacher Anya. She's so sweet!! Check out Jessica's blog post for a big announcement -- CLUB ANYA is about to launch!!! There's going to be a blog hop on Sunday so check back {Jess has all the deets for ya!}.

My flower twist is in this yummy Basic Grey patterned paper - sooo pretty! I pulled the whole color scheme from it before I started coloring. I'm such a fan of Anya, these images are really fun to color and play around with. The sentiment is from Little Paper Shop's Chirp set.
I will be back with more Anya on Sunday, and some other fun things in between too of course! Happy stamping!

PPS & Belli Wednesday

Wednesday time again! Today's card is a three-fer...sort of. I was aiming for combining the PPS Design Team challenge {use flowers} with the Belli Challenge for the week {use reinkers} and the Viva la Verve #3 sketch with a twist {click here}.

After kicking DH off the computer to shrink down my little cuppy cakes to fit the sketch and reprinting, I went to work on this card. Most of the coloring of the cupcakes was done with Aquapainters and reinkers. Belli Challenge #51 - check! The Viva la Verve sketch with a twist of pink {a little more than a "twist"} - check! Notice anything *missing*? After all that {took me awhile to get it just right}, I forgot flowers!! And really, the card doesn't NEED flowers. A little late to be noticing that oversight, huh? *sigh* Well, anyway, it does use these super cute cupcakes from Whimsey Studios, available at Pink Papery Studios. So sorry, no flowers for you today, but visit the other PPS ladies for some floral inspiration.

Here is the Verve sketch, for comparison:

Please visit the other Belli Challenge girls as well, and leave everyone some love! All the links are on my left sidebar.

Viva la Verve - Week 2 Sketch

Loving the Viva la Verve challenges for January! My card today is actually for the Week 2 sketch & twist - I made it last weekend but didn't get a chance to post it until today. The "twist" this week was to use bling. That part...not exactly challenging for me, LOL! Here's my card:

I used the Lily the Fairy digital image from Pink Cat Studio - is she not the CUTEST?? Melissa posted that she will be making a whole set of Lily as a fairy! Can't WAIT to see those images, let me tell ya! And I have all boys, LOL.

I printed Lily out and colored her with Copics. I made the flower into a bling, ticket corner'd the corners and added rhinestones. The colors are Pretty in Pink and (retired) Rose Romance. Designer paper is from Lily Kate from Basic Grey. Ribbon is May Arts and I painted the small flower with Pixie Dust Shimmerz Blings before I attached it with a rhinestone brad. Both panels are on dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by today! It is frigid here, even my DH is home on a "cold day" from work. Waiting for the weekend warm up!! Hope you have a good one as well.

Viva La Verve - Week 1 Sketch

You all know how I love my sketch challenges! This one is from Verve. You can read all about it here in the SCS forum, but basically it was to use the sketch and also some kind of hardware on your card. There will be a new "sketch with a twist" every Friday in January. Fun!

So, the day I saw this challenge (last Saturday), I had been to the LSS here in town to burn up the last of my store credit. One of the things that I bought was this Basic Grey butterfly paper from the Urban Prairie line. I LOVED it! Yes, I noticed it was a bit of a "brights" color scheme, but I figured I could work with it. hmmm.....

To be honest, I am not sure this card is actually blog-worthy. I am so mentally challenged when it comes to working with bright colors. But since I plan to do all the Verve challenges for this month, I thought I should go ahead and post it. Just...don't judge my blog on this card alone, ok? LOL! Ok here goes...

The "hardware" portion is in the form of the colored brads along the right side. The colors are Rose Red, Tempting Turquoise, and Kiwi Kiss, along with that Basic Grey patterned paper. I colored the Cuttlebugged/dry embossed parts of the turquoise paper with a clear Spica glitter pen. The image is BRAND NEW from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps. I am really loving all my latest images, I will have more projects with them soon. Some great Valentine's Day stuff, some new backgrounds, Easter...you'll be in love too! I colored the bird with a Glaze pen and doodled around the scallop.

Hope you all enjoy your Thursday! It's been a busy week here, to me it feels like it should be next Tuesday already, LOL!
