Manti, Riverton, and Provo. The three cities we were in this weekend.

We had a pretty packed and fun weekend. It started Friday night when us and friends went to the Manti Pageant. Unfortunately I don't have pictures yet, because I forgot my camera and they're all on her camera. While we were sitting there waiting for a few hours for it to start, I decided I needed to go to the bathroom. So as I was walking down the street heading for them, this really happy cheery lady said "HEY! Would you like a MILLION DOLLAR Joseph Smith Bill?!?!" I thought it was kind of funny so I said "Sure!". I noticed there was a bunch of information on the back of the bill, but decided not to read it until I was back at my seat. So on my way back from the bathrooms I passed her again and saw her offer some to two little girls, both of whom turned her down. I was thinking "Hm, I wonder why they don't want one, it's fun!" Then I got to my seat and showed everyone, and their FIRST response was "Is it Anti?" I was like, "

Cannoli Adventures

Yesterday I had some extra riccotta cheese that I didn't know what to do with. So I made cannoli! I've never even eaten cannoli before so I didn't know how it was supposed to taste. I did have to redo a couple of things. I haved the recipe on everything except the water in the dough. That was the last ingredient and I forgot. So it turned into a big goopy mess. So I had to redo the dough. Also, for the filling, I forgot that "Confectioners" sugar was Powdered sugar, not granulated. Why can't they just say powdered!?! After I added all the sugar I re-read that part of the recipe and noticed they said "sifted" sugar. I thought, "Why would you ever sift granulated sugar..." And then it hit me. Because it was supposed to be powdered sugar. So I dumped as much of it out as I could, but it was impossible to get everything. So there was a little extra graininess/crunch in the filling than there was supposed to be. It was a fun adventure. For the s

Krispie Pig

(Note: Two songs for this post. The first one is happier sounding. But I just couldn't skip the second one (Three Little Pigs). If you listen to it, you have to at least listen through to when he says "By the hair on my chinny chin chin) We celebrated Father's Day by making a pig! I have decided that making and shaping/sculpting rice krispies is way easier than cake. So that is what we used. Step 1. Shape Krispies Step 2. Cover Krisipies in pink fondant Step 3. Cut Krisipies Step 4. Eat Krisipies.

Memorial Week

Thursday, May 27th marked my last day of work at Oak Canyon Junior High. Seeing as my work only involved helping students in their classrooms, once the class's got rid of any resemblance of schoolwork a week before, I had no reason to be in class. So I spent my time with coworkers watching movies and eating popcorn. And going through the lost-and-found before it was hauled off to the DI to bring home some "new" clothes. Some of them actually are in new condition. Like brand new Nike's. Who loses their shoes at school anyway? The next day we hopped in our car and took our first honest to goodness road-trip since we've had a reliable car. It was quite the experience, because nothing happened! No bad things happened. We just drove, and then we got there. The end. nice.We went to visit my parents in Washington. It was gray and rainy the entire time, but that's to be expected. It was pretty fun, here are some pictures of what we did. This is at Point Defiance, a
