Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
So quiet here for sleeping on a nice cooler night. Up early 46F (7C) at 5 am warm up the coach for a bit, and enjoyed a nice sunrise here, that we usually get.
this was the best I got this morning
Supposed to be a sunny day but cooler. No walkabout yet, but did secure our coach and headed to Pettigrew's garage for 8am to get some service done  Our go to place for work , Dale does a great job, is trustworthy, reliable and reasonable. Starting with new Platinum spark plugs it has been 10 years and 90 thousand miles, they are due now. maybe it will take care of the intermittent misfire we have been having.
First job Dale did today was to replace the spark plugs plus the boots over the 10 coils on this V-10 ford engine. He did find one plug boot that was fouling and could be causing the problem.
here this is right under our doghouse
Service was done, spark plugs replaced and a new negative battery terminal replaced, no more misfires and seems like more power as well. Ya hoo. looks like we good to for for a few more miles again!!
things done here at Pettigrews
was taken care of  in short order
Back to camp awesome parked the coach while Suzie spent time with sister in law Sandy . computer stuff and girl time they enjoyed, I am sure.
The coach all set up again then I whipped into New Hamburg for s few groceries, gas for the mower and picke up some prescription renewals  as well. Love the nice  quiet country drives in this area no city traffic!
highway to heaven?
Back home and then installed the new seat covers we had delivered here , good deal on E bay , 35 bucks for 2 the last time I paid 45 bucks for each one 2 years ago at Canadian tire.
easy install and look wonderful
covering our worn front seats
When I was done this SIL Sandy dropped Suzie off at home right in time for Happy Hour. Now we can enjoy on this wonderful warm sunny day again 65F in the shade, yup we can handle this.
a very nice sunny day it was
Soon was time for supper. Tonight grilling a couple of wonderful smoked pork chops that we love to go with our salad.
not long these are grilled to perfection, fork tender
yummy?
Yes a very tasty meal enjoyed
That was our productive day, getting things done , our coach service and a tasty meal to  wind up the day.
After and dishes done. We are back outside enjoying the warm dry weather. Finish the posting outside because we can , and read out here for a while yet. Before heading inside.
Hey thanks for dropping on by!

Colder morning but a wonderful warm sunny day. Welding done and ready to hit the road in the morning.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Clear cloudless skies over night allowed for the unseasonably cold weather to settle in again overnight. It was 32F at 4:30 this morning, and our blue flame heater warmed us up very nicely. As the sun was rising to warm up the day, it was only 33F, Again too chilly for my liking for an early walkabout.
No problem though we have an appointment at RV lifestyles to get the welding done on our heat shield. At 9 am we secured the coach and I head-on over there . Suzie took the car to the library in town using their free very fast wifi to get some updates on her devices and do some research.
Appointment at Rv lifestyles was for 10 am and I pulled the coach in at 1o:20 This wonderful welder (same guy as last year, welded the broken support  solid and reinforced the other support, straightened the heat shield and painted the welds so they don't rust, done in 30 minutes, Total cost was $50.00 a good deal they always treat us fairly here.
love coming here for service
They also repair and service atvs and sand rails here, a couple out back reading to go once again.
They pulled this trailer below out with a fork lift and made room for our coach.
in no time our welding was taken care of
Our welding almost done the Ken and Shirley arrived to get their welding done, chatted with Ken for a bit then headed home to meet with Suzie again.
Headed back to home dirt stopped at the dump station to dump our sewage a top up our fresh water. So we will be good for another 10/12 days. Suzie was there waiting and we quickly got set up again, then a light tasty lunch.
Then I whipped into town for a few groceries, fill our RO water jug and back home to relax in this lovely very warm sunshine out of the wind, our coach blocks it well when it comes from the right direction and it did.
gotta love these blue Arizona skies
my new chair, love it!
Checked our tires, oil and secured our solar panel for travel tomorrow.
solar Panel secured now our smaller fun group still here
Tom and Deb on the left, Ken and Shirley on the right
not many rigs around so nice and quiet here
3 PM our last happy hour together with our friends for this trip. Sharing more stories and tips.
LR : Suzie, Ken, Shirley, Deb and Tom
and my empty new chair
We headed home just after 5 pm to whip up supper, another treat we have not had for a very long time. Hamburger Helper but this was made with ground turkey and our almond milk.
It actually turned out pretty good and enough for another meal.
used ground turkey instead of beef
This was cooked inside and while it did its thing we enjoyed another wonderful desert sunset .
our last night here was wonderful as usual
this did the trick tonight for another tasty inside supper
Got the things we wanted to do today done. Welding done, heat shield in place. our last Happy hour with good friends for this visit and can finally be on the road in the morning. Heading a bit further west into California for a while, just because we can.
Hope y'all had great winter day and want to thank you for taking the time to drop in and check us out.

Repairs done. Yacht club for lunch and back home again

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
After a fun day yesterday and good night's sleep and up early before the sunrise of another wonderful day. Coffees etc then securing our  coach to head into RV Lifestyle in Quartzsite for 8 am to get our slide out seal replaced. After all it is over 20 years old and we have discovered a water leak around  it when it rains. So best to get that repaired before any water damage is done. Our go to place to get rv repairs done when we are here in the southwest. We have found very good service here and reliable over the years.
Arrived here at 7:50 am and checked in. Hang out in their lounge , enjoying our e readers, and watch a bit of news on their TV. Walked around the building a few times got some exercise and actually got 3  miles in today. They finally got the coach inside about 10:30 and started working on it. It will be a while.
love this Saguaro cactus out back too
bad it is beside the dumpster
this guys treat us really well
nice lounge to relax, free coffee and popcorn
the guys beside us making a huge puzzle
they got this slide out seal in but
after all did not need to use it
saved a few hundred bucks
these seals still good, it is the eterna bond on top of the slide
that is damaged

It was now lunch time so we headed over to the Yacht Club for lunch. And enjoyed their tasty cod fish snd  chip dinner. Sure hit the spot.
nice Yacht Club in the desert
a very tasty fish and chip lunch we enjoyed
Now after lunch over to the Library to use their free wifi, check emails and update our devices.
a very nice library here we enjoy
back to check out progress, slide trim off
and most of the work done inside

love this sand rail here would be fast
5 passenger with a Hemi!
this Hemi sure would sail through the dunes
Still waiting so I went to the Jerky store (yes it is really good, free samples) But I was interested in their hot sauces and BBQ sauces. They do have an amazing selection here. The Jerky was tasty, I had a few samples.
so many unique  sauces to choose from
I settled on a the Bourbon BBQ sauce, that Suzie will like
and the Habanero sauce for me, oh ya!
Finally done at RV lifestyles, they also installed a new exhaust pipe support for our generator. I filled our fresh water tank while there to save time, Then sent Suzie back for happy Hour, I filled the coach with gas and went for Propane to 4 places. the first two were closed already at 5 pm , next one sold out and the other out of business, I give up will come back tomorrow.  Ok we are almost empty but not quite after 25 days boon docking our 100 lb tank is getting low.  So headed home stopped to dump our sewage and picked up the tail end of happy hour here for a bit and a another nice desert sunset. Set up a bit and relaxed for the evening inside. It was a very long tiring day, we are both beat. Will need to take the coach out tomorrow for propane but that is not a big issue for us.
looks like they had a fun Happy Hour
Then we did get a decent sunset to wind up our busy day , makes it all that much better.
A nice way to end up a long day and some more wonderful desert wether to boot. Got our slid issues taken care of, and hope we are goo to go for a while once again.
Thanks for stopping by and hope your winter weather was pretty decent as well.

Frost, recliner repair, sunshine and a fun happy hour

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
We made it through the cold night and we are toasty warm . At 4 am was 34 F outside not a problem our blue flame heater keeps us very comfy inside. Got a couple of short walkabouts done at 6:30 this morning (love the early sunrises) and noticed the FROST in the windshield of the car. Hmmm not what we are here for.
yup we had frost this morning
right behind us nice mist over the ponds
Last night a cable on my recliner broke so I set two work to remove the recliner and the cable as well . This is  big chore. This is the 4th time the cable has broken so I set out to find a new one. A couple of hours later and 2 RV places I finally ended up at Berryland RV A huge rv dealer. Eventually got sent to Tina 3 buildings back . and she took care of me, She did some research and found the part we needed. Gonna cost about 60 bucks plus shipping to our next destination.
this be the broken cable
This is a huge rv dealer I  have been to before
I got back home set my recliner back in place and another cable broke!! Hmm. Think we need to go to plan B, Maybe replace my recliner with a newer model would be a good choice, kind of a no brainer in our minds.
This all done and enjoyed  a light lunch then we can read outside in the warm afternoon sunshine. But I wanted to make quick drive to Rouse's and pick up a good supply of catfish, we now have freezer space, So a nice 4 lb box of these fillets IQF. will keep us going for a while.
we now have a nice supply of catfish
what a great afternoon reading in the warm sunshine
I began another Robert Crais,  #11.
I am hooked !
a pretty perfect sunny Day
Now at 3 pm time for Happy hour at Jim and Sharon's they have full sunshine to keep us warm,
I tried and enjoyed this IPA
very tasty
Its was cooler but in the high 60's F the sunshine make it much nicer.
Sharon, Suzie, Jim
people walking by and Suzie got a doggie fix!
Another couple that Jim and Sharon knew came by and joined us for happy hour. Frank and Angie . Always fun to meet fellow rv'ers
hey we shared some wonderful
stories as most rv'ers do
At 4':30 it was getting chilly so we headed home to whip up supper. And tonight a real treat. We had small french loaf here and lotsa leftover chicken, So my plan was to make a chicken Po'boy. Cause thats what you eat her in Louisiana. Lotsa cooked chicken, tomatoes, salsa, onion, swiss cheese,  olives, chopped lettuce, olive oil and mayo. I wrapped in foil and heated up on our Weber Q.
about 20 minutes  and were toasted nicely
Now this sure was a very tasty supper tonight all that we needed
Now that was our productive day getting things done and enjoying the sunshine with friends.Hope y'all enjoyed you day too .!
