Colder morning but a wonderful warm sunny day. Welding done and ready to hit the road in the morning.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Clear cloudless skies over night allowed for the unseasonably cold weather to settle in again overnight. It was 32F at 4:30 this morning, and our blue flame heater warmed us up very nicely. As the sun was rising to warm up the day, it was only 33F, Again too chilly for my liking for an early walkabout.
No problem though we have an appointment at RV lifestyles to get the welding done on our heat shield. At 9 am we secured the coach and I head-on over there . Suzie took the car to the library in town using their free very fast wifi to get some updates on her devices and do some research.
Appointment at Rv lifestyles was for 10 am and I pulled the coach in at 1o:20 This wonderful welder (same guy as last year, welded the broken support  solid and reinforced the other support, straightened the heat shield and painted the welds so they don't rust, done in 30 minutes, Total cost was $50.00 a good deal they always treat us fairly here.
love coming here for service
They also repair and service atvs and sand rails here, a couple out back reading to go once again.
They pulled this trailer below out with a fork lift and made room for our coach.
in no time our welding was taken care of
Our welding almost done the Ken and Shirley arrived to get their welding done, chatted with Ken for a bit then headed home to meet with Suzie again.
Headed back to home dirt stopped at the dump station to dump our sewage a top up our fresh water. So we will be good for another 10/12 days. Suzie was there waiting and we quickly got set up again, then a light tasty lunch.
Then I whipped into town for a few groceries, fill our RO water jug and back home to relax in this lovely very warm sunshine out of the wind, our coach blocks it well when it comes from the right direction and it did.
gotta love these blue Arizona skies
my new chair, love it!
Checked our tires, oil and secured our solar panel for travel tomorrow.
solar Panel secured now our smaller fun group still here
Tom and Deb on the left, Ken and Shirley on the right
not many rigs around so nice and quiet here
3 PM our last happy hour together with our friends for this trip. Sharing more stories and tips.
LR : Suzie, Ken, Shirley, Deb and Tom
and my empty new chair
We headed home just after 5 pm to whip up supper, another treat we have not had for a very long time. Hamburger Helper but this was made with ground turkey and our almond milk.
It actually turned out pretty good and enough for another meal.
used ground turkey instead of beef
This was cooked inside and while it did its thing we enjoyed another wonderful desert sunset .
our last night here was wonderful as usual
this did the trick tonight for another tasty inside supper
Got the things we wanted to do today done. Welding done, heat shield in place. our last Happy hour with good friends for this visit and can finally be on the road in the morning. Heading a bit further west into California for a while, just because we can.
Hope y'all had great winter day and want to thank you for taking the time to drop in and check us out.

Blue sunny skies, still a cool wind Silly Al's again and fun with our friends

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Cooler again last night was 38F at 5 am and did not warm up much when the sun came out, but next to no wind. Went outside to go for a walkabout, but decided nope, colder than I like maybe later. So took a nice early morning drive about town and the desert here.
looking west sunrise on the mountains , nice
as the sun was rising to the east of us
Ken and Shirley had not been to Silly Al's yet this year and are going with Tom and Deb , asked if we we would like to join them. Heck ya!  Love their amazing Pizza. This will be our 3rd visit this winter but do love their excellent Pizza.
So we headed out for an early 11:30 am lunch. Nice no crowds we have our choice of tables , a Nice quiet one in the corner near the end of the bar.
Our waitress (Marcia) was right there (the bar tender) took our orders and drinks were there right away, followed by our side salad to share, Beer only $2;50 for a large glass.
a nice large side salad we enjoyed to start only $3:75
Marcia took our picture after serving our of food.
a nice photo of our fun group here
enjoying Silly Al's with out the crowds
LR :Suzie. Ken,Shirley,Tom, Deb, ME (George)
another awesome meat Lover's Pizza,
with Tomatoes on top leftovers of course.
After here Suzie and I drove down to the NEW K&B Tools on Main street and bought a new lawn chair for me. My 29 year old chair finally decided to pack it in and I found a reasonable comfortable one that I liked to replace it. Forgot to take a picture of it will do that tomorrow if I remember.
Then back home still a cool north west wind even thought it was 69F, I took a short drive about here catch a few pictures of the Saguaros that I love in this area.
Back home puttered around for a bit, took some parts off my old chair and stored our Weber Q. Not needed tonight for supper and we plan to leave here Friday morning after our welding repair if all goes well.
I found a sunny spot in front of our coach out of the wind and enjoyed my new chair and right back into my page turner once again. loving these skies and  fluffy clouds. The sun is warm the wind is cold, just the way the desert is, Sure beats what they are having back home, and the scenery we have here is what we love.
If we could find a spot out of the wind and in the sun it would be perfect for happy hour, But no luck for 6 people to sit out comfortably. So Tom and Deb invited inside again to their spacious coach for some lively conversation. Always some information and tips to share and we always enjoy these social times when we can.
Happy hour inside out of the cool wind in their Stinger B
Shortly after 5:30 (a longer Happy hour) because we all had a large lunch, we headed on home, to relax for the evening inside.
caught another nice sunset
Supposed to be cooler tonight then and soon start to warm up again, We love the temperatures and warm sunny days, are mostly perfect, if we can stay out of the wind, And usually do.
Another fun desert day here with friends and Silly Al's Pizza. Don;t think it gets to much better than this for us at least.
      Thanks for dropping on by.

Here it is another gorgeous day, feeling good in the fact that I actually slept in  until 5:30 this morning, And even better when we were blessed with another colourful desert sunrise. We were planning on heading out this morning but the powers to be had different plans for us. So we will just enjoy this desert area we love for a while longer with good friends.
another perfect desert sunrise
and this amazing desert skies we really enjoy
Was going to go for my walkabout but the sun went behind the clouds for a while and was only 49F  with a chilly breeze. So I opted to go fo drive around town, so peaceful here now and checked out  Gambler's Rv on Kuehn St in Quartzsite a funky Rv store that has so much new and used rv parts. Then back home again to putter around for a bit and enjoy a tasty light lunch.
Puttered around for a while enjoying our reading outside out of the wind and in the sun was very nice only 71F .
Then 3 pm over to Ken and Shirley's for happy hour , He parked his truck to block the wind and Tom and Deb moved theirs as well . Blocked the wind nicely but put us in sone shade. Well we flapped our gums had some great conversion. Deb brought over some Beer Margaritas , chips and salsa. Hey we had a Mexican Happy hour !
we sheltered from the wind nicely
yup we had snacks and  margaritas.
fun times
the desert is turning green but did
not find any desert flowers yet
Kim and Ken Heading on
 out tomorrow for new adventures
the beginning of a wonderful sunset
We headed home just before 5 pm. whipped up a salad and grilled some marinated boneless skinless chicken breast cut into strips for a tasty supper and of course more leftovers.
not long these are done on our grill mat
tasty, tender, yes it was
Another very nice  desert day, cool winds, and some cloud cover but we enjoyed it, and another fun happy hour with our friends as well as Kim and Ken before they head on out down the road.

Getting ready to leave tomorrow, BUT our Jello plans got shaken up. Glad we don't make many definite plans.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Not a lot of rain overnight, just enough to keep the dust down, no puddles to be found this morning. We both had a great sleep and as the sun was rising I headed out on a beautiful morning and got a nice 2 mile walk in.  What  great way to start the day.
another great desert sunrise
Me and my shadow out for a nice walkabout
About 9am I headed into town to fill our RO water jug and top up the gas tank in our car . Hopefully heading to California in the morning for a few days. Got my shorts on to be comfortable.
After lunch puttered around for a while, Chatted with Ken and Shirley for a bit, Ken and Shirley wished we could stay longer. And they got their wish. Checked our tire pressures and oil, Then was going to secure our solar panel for travel and enjoyed reading in the warm afternoon sun at 68F, Yup this is pretty decent winter weather.
BUT !! just before I stored our solar panel Suzie got me to check the rattle we have heard the last few days in the wind under our coach. Crawled around under our coach AND a large heat shield between our exhaust pipe and propane tank and spare tire noticed the weld securing it had broken.  Ah ha found the problem. Thinking about this for a bit and decided to go back to RV lifestyle styles again to see if they can weld this and we can give them some more money. Dennis said their welder is pretty busy this week maybe Friday, so he checked , I can  squeeze you in Thursday morning at 10 AM. Perfect, so looks like we will be here for a few more days. No problem we like it here and enjoy the desert, our permit is good until Feb 11th.
Noticed this afternoon , Ken put the tilt
kit on one of their solar panels

another amazing desert day clear blue skies that we love
Then about 3 pm we got together for what we thought would be our last happy hour here with our good friends. And we are sure we will meet up again on down the road again somewhere.
Shirley had made snacks, a very tasty snack. Broccoli tots we VERY good then she made a spaghetti squash pizza crust pizza for us to share , love both of these and asked her for the recipes , please!
Ken is the professional server here
really love this pizza! and the Tots, Thanks Shirley!
another  happy hour on a perfect desert day again.
LR, Suzie,Tom, Deb, Shirley, Ken, Ken, and Kim
Sun setting and time for us to head home, whip up our supper and soon call it a night.
Supper tonight a chorizo burger for me and a Turkey burger for Suzie on our Weber Q
the desert is turning green with this rain
and our slide seal repair seems to work, no leaks
Burgers about done as the sun was setting, good timing.
this was all we needed tonight
Just another great desert day at "home dirt"awesome weather, fun times with good friends , tasty snacks and a very good supper.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by and check us out.
