Ink to Paper Transformation Tuesday {Grateful from the bottom of my Heart}

It's my turn for this week's Ink to Paper Transformation Tuesday! Just as summer is transforming into fall, I took one of my summer designs and tweaked it into today's new design! While not a single leaf on my trees have changed color, I am sure having fun with all of the fun new products from the last release!

My original card is shown below, and was one of my favorites from the July release! It has long since been given to its new owner so I thought it would be fun to swap out the On the Border: Floral Bliss die for the new On the Border: Fall for Foliage die
This is my original card; I did the ink blending directly on the die on this card. I also used a stamped sentiment directly on the card base and blended the ink in the center.

To begin this new design, I die cut the border 4 times; I wanted to double stack each piece for a nice and sturdy weight. Once that was done, I set those aside and got to work on the main panel. I used the Nesting Basics: Pierced Rectangles dies to add the detail around the 5 1/2 by 4 1/4 inch piece of white cardstock. Once that was done, I stamped the "from the bottom of my heart" portion, which is from the Thankful Thoughts stamp set ,in black using my mini MISTI.

I die cut the "Grateful" portion using the Thankful Thoughts die collection out of Simply Chartreuse cardstock and then stamped it using black ink.

Once all of that was done, I was able to decide how large of an opening I would need between the two die cut border pieces. I measured it with a ruler and then cut 2 pieces of sticky notes to cover up the middle portion while I did the ink blending. It ended up measuring one inch which was helpful. I added Canyon Clay, Simply Chartreuse, and Harvest Gold INK.

Once the blending was done, I had a nice crisp line to attach the leaf borders using liquid glue. I also added the "Grateful" die cut using liquid glue as well. The entire panel was added to a top folding A2 card base using ScorTape. Thanks for fluttering by!

Ink to Paper Transformation Tuesday {Scatter Kindness}

Hello and welcome to this week's Ink to Paper Transformation Tuesday! I'm sharing two cards with you today with a twist on the original design! I always love the Transformation Tuesday post because it gives me a chance to revisit a past project; in this case, my card from the latest release using Dandelion Wishes stamp set. While I liked my original card "okay", I found it very hard to photograph and it felt washed out. I also used a heavy hand with the Nuvo drops (ha ha), which were super fun to add, but in the end I felt I'd gone overboard.

Here is my original card. I was really hoping to achieve a soft, airy feeling like a real dandelion with the emboss resist technique. I also wanted to keep the sentiment airy as well, but in the end, I feel like it got a little lost and didn't "ground" the card. I really wanted the Nuvo drops to mimic the dandelion seeds floating away, but I think I got a little "carried away" instead! LOL!
The effect from the  emboss resist technique on the dandelions was what I was hoping for, so I kept that element and detail the same, but I added some crystal rhinestones to the centers rather than sequins so as to not overwhelm the look. I did add some Nuvo drops, but just used some restraint this time! LOL!

To begin both designs, I chose some Bitty Big: Green Parakeet pattern paper to use as the background. I had used the Harvest Gold in my original design and it just felt too yellow. I really like the bright, happy, retro feel that this paper gives the cards. Each panel is die cut using the Nesting Basics Pierced Rectangles die to give it some added detail.

For this card, I used the Geometrix Hexagon die for the middle portion.I stamped the word "wish" at the bottom using black ink. The "make a" portion is heat embossed in white onto a black strip of cardstock. I attached it directly above the "wish" with foam squares. From there, I got to work adding the dandelions and stems. The stems are attached using a 2 way glue pen. This adhesive works well for these narrow die cuts. I also spritzed some turquoise ink across the white panel for contrast and detail.

This one is very close to the original, but I swapped the sentiment which is from the Dandelion Wishes sentiments stamp set and is heat embossed onto one of the banners from the Banner Builder: Basic Die. These are going to be well loved,I can tell!  I used the Geometrix oval die just as I did in the original and sponged some blue ink around the edges for the soft feel I was hoping for. I only added a few Nuvo drops as I mentioned earlier, which looks so much better! I had so much fun reworking my original card! Thanks for fluttering by!

Ink To Paper Transformation Tuesday

Hello and welcome to this week's Ink To Paper Transformation Tuesday! I decided to transform one of the cards I shared last week! Framing Florals is one of my favorite stamp sets from the new release! I love the earthy feel that I created on my original card, but I couldn't help but imagine the card bursting with colorful flowers! I switched the sentiment, heat embossed the frame, and colored all of the line art images using Copic markers. I really like the transformation!

You can view my "old" design below; funny since I just made it recently! LOL! Anyway, as I mentioned before,I just really wanted to add some colorful flowers to the design!

Here is my "old" card...it is still one of my favorites from the release!

To start off this new design, I heat embossed the frame image using gold powder and then die cut it with the Framing Florals Die collection.Once that was done, I stamped the "hello" sentiment in black.

I used my mini MISTI to stamp ALL  of the flowers and leaves at one time. I repeated this 4 times to ensure I would have enough to create the fullness and depth I was hoping for. I stamped them in black and then colored them with Copic markers. Now, please note, that the stamp set DOES come with solid images that you can fill in the line art images easily. I was just really in the mood to color, so that is why I chose to do what I did.

Once they were all colored, I die cut them and set them aside. I used the Nesting Basics Pierced Rectangles dies to add the detail around the New Leaf cardstock panel. I also heat embossed the "a note to say" sentiment, which is from the Frame It Out: Wishes stamp set, in gold and added it underneath the "hello"sentiment.

At this point,I was able to get started arranging the foliage. I started with the two rounded leaf clusters at the top and bottom and then began adding them in a symmetrical way, which is different than how I normally add them. I did keep things visually balanced by changing things up here and there until I liked the way they looked. I opted to not add the white Nuvo drops like I did on my original design, but added some sparkling clear sequins instead. I had a lot of fun creating this "transformed" design! Thanks for fluttering by!

Ink To Paper Transformation Tuesday {hello}

Welcome to this week's Ink To Paper  Transformation Tuesday post! When I made my original card {see below}, I had so much fun working on creating a realistic looking Terracotta pot, but ended up by covering it up quite a bit. For today's transformed design, I chose to let the pots take center stage. I used the same retro color combination because it reminds me of my childhood and these bright flowers just exude happiness!

To create the pots, I used my mini MISTI to do all of the stamping. The stamp set that I used for both cards is called You are my Happy. I added Fine Linen ink to the left hand side of the pot and added Terracotta Tile ink to the right hand side at a slight angle. I used my smallest blending brush to tap the ink from the far right side and move it over slightly. I repeated these steps until I got the desired effect.

 I really love the results that I was able to achieve with such an easy technique. I know I will be trying this again, but with some brighter colors like Hawaiian Shores or Tropical Teal. Once the post were finished, I die cut them using the You are my Happy die collection and set them aside.
 I die cut a white panel using the Nesting Basics Pierced Rectangles and then stamped the stems for the flowers using a combination of Green Parakeet ink and Simply Chartreuse ink. I used my MISTI for these as well to make sure I got the alignment just right as well as the saturation of the colors.
 The flowers were all die cut using the coordinating dies as well and then I used my mini MISTI to get them all stamped quickly. Once I had all of the pieces stamped and ready to go, I got to work assembling the card. Everything is adhered to the card using foam squares for dimension. I used a piece of Bitty Big: Green Parakeet pattern paper underneath the focal panel for just a pop of added color and pattern.

The sentiment is nestled between the two pots for a fun little "hello", so to speak! LOL! I added some black ink splatters using a black marker and my color spritzing tool. A few sparkling clear sequins finish off this design! Thanks for fluttering by!

Papertrey Ink Transformation Tuesday {Thanks}

 Hello, friends! I'm sharing two cards today for this week's Papertrey Ink Transformation Tuesday! There's no doubt about it; I LOVE coordinating dies to go with my stamps! While I was happy with my original card, I didn't use the dies when I made it! For today's Transformation Tuesday, I chose to create some extra dimension and detail by using the dies and adding some of the other included images to create a sweet gardening scene!
 I am always in need of thank you cards and these are just perfect for the season!

This is my old card that I made for the last Stamp-a-faire using the Community Garden stamp set! I used the same layout, but really added some extra dimension with my NEW designs!

You can really see that using the dies allows the design spring to life! To begin the new design, I die cut the lattice trellis using the Community Garden dies and stamped it in white using Fresh Snow ink. I also die cut the roses, garden scissors, seed packets, and gloves  and used my mini MISTI to get them stamped. I had originally planned on putting the pink flowers on the pink scalloped card and the yellow flowers on the yellow card, but in the end, I decided to "transform" that part as well! ha ha! I had stamped everything so dark in the original card to get it to show up on the Kraft cardstock, so I used some lighter colors for the transformation. It also allowed me to use lighter colors for the scallops, which I like.

Because I didn't use die cuts on my original design, I needed to "fill" the space by the flowers so I chose to use the heat embossed sentiment on vellum. That particular sentiment is from the You Made My Day stamp set and I really love it, but I just couldn't make it work for today's new designs since I added the extra stamped images. I decided to use another one of my favorite sentiment sets for today's cards; Never Enough: Thanks. It fit perfectly on the Pierced Feature Frames and I decided to stamp it in black for some contrast.
I also opted to add a white center rather than the Kraft center. I liked how it made the images pop a little bit better! I did end up by using the inside portion from the Kraft frames by stamping another one of the sentiments on them and adding them to the inside of the cards for a polished look.

 I used the Scallop Stackers: Large Die to create the border for the two cards. I also added the Jute Button Twine around the top like I did in the original card because I think it gives the design a "gardening" feel as well.  A trio of sparkling clear sequins finish off these two thank you cards. Thanks for fluttering by!

Transformation Tuesday {When I Count My Blessings}

Welcome friends! It's my turn for this week's Papertrey Ink Transformation Tuesday post! This is always such a fun opportunity to tweak an old design to create something new. The card that I chose to "transform" is clear back from August of 2018. I really like the way that card turned out, but thought it would be fun to change up the colors and floral stamps to create something a little bit more vibrant and cheery! If you'd like to read the post with that particular card, you can check it out HERE. It is the second card down in the post.
Here is my original card, and while I like it, especially for a wedding design, I wanted to create fuller and more vibrant floral clusters as well as change out the sentiment.

I'm going to be needing quite a few thank you cards so I thought it would be fun to use a few more of the sentiments included in the Frame It Out: Many Blessings stamp set. I love how versatile everything in this set is. I was able to create this particular verse using a combination of 4 of the included sentiments. While it is perfect for Autumn and Thanksgiving, it can be used all year long depending on how you pair everything together. I used gold embossing powder, rather than silver, for this card to really keep it warm and friendly. I heat embossed the "blessings" sentiment directly onto a strip of vellum and then wrapped it around the die cut panel.

The panel was created by first die cutting a piece of Aqua Mist cardstock using the fabulous and useful Noted: Simply Stitched A2 Vertical Die. Once that was done, I used the coordinating Frame It Out:Many Blessings Die to create the frame. It was so easy to slip this piece into my mini MISTI and line up the sentiments and get those heat embossed as well. The "Blessings" portion is wrapped around and secured in the back using scotch tape. This panel is adhered to a white piece that has been die cut using the Scallop Stackers: Small Die. I just love the extra sweet detail that this adds to the design.

I recently purchased the Garden Party stamp set so I thought it would be fun to use for today's bouquets. I die cut all of the pieces I would need using the Garden Party die set and then stamped them using my mini MISTI to make it quick! I had so much fun "transforming" this card! Thanks for fluttering by!
