Pinkfresh Studio {Making Merry}

Hello and welcome! I'm over on the Pinkfresh Studio Blog today sharing this Christmas design using a few of my favorites from the latest release!  I had so much fun coloring this beautiful Winterberry Background stamp for one of my card during the release and I couldn't wait to try it again!

I chose to heat emboss it in silver and then color it with some icy blues with a pop of red on the berries! I die cut the panel using the Essentials: Diagonal Stitched Rectangles. This is my favorite quick trick to give my panel some added detail easily!  The letters were die cut out of teal cardstock using the fabulous Lea's Ornate Uppercase and lowercase alphabet dies twice fo each letter and glued them together with liquid glue.

I added them to the heat embossedMerry and Bright Frame  using little foam squares for dimension.  The Layered Snowflakes are die cut from silver specialty cardstock to add detail around the Frame. I also heat embossed the "Christmas is here bringing good cheer" sentiment, which is from the To You and Yours stamp set, onto a strip of vellum. I wrapped it around the focal panel and secured it in the back with clear tape.

I added the largest size of the Essentials: Jewels to the center of each snowflake using liquid glue to add sparkle, shine, AND to hide the little foam square! wink wink!
The Jewels come in 12 different colors and each color has an assortment of sizes in each of the colors to give your projects that little something extra!

This design would also work well in traditional colors if that is more your style. I really like creating an assortment of different kind of cards to send to the different people on my list.

I layered the focal panel onto a top folding A2 cardbase using the same color cardstock for a subdued look. I toyed around with red, teal, and white, but ultimately settled on the grey.

I love putting on some music and coloring this beautiful background...it is very therapeutic for me! I had a lot of fun creating this card! Thanks for fluttering by!

Ink to Paper August Release Countdown Day 3

Welcome to day 3 of the Ink to Paper August release countdown! Today is less about autumn and more about flowers, birds and more! I have A LOT to share today, so enjoy! First up is this gorgeous new set called Ravishing Ranunculus paired with the new Clearly In the Vase stamp set. I have three cards to share using these beautiful new flowers!

I love to plant an assortment of Ranunculus in the spring in the pots on my porch. They don't last long, so I enjoy them while I can! For this first card, I stamped them in pink and purple for a mixed bouquet.

I stamped the leaves and stems as well and then arranged them in the stamped vase. I found that I could get a more realistic arrangement if I placed the stems in first and then added the flowers using foam squares.

I found that it was easiest to stamp the largest solid image first, and then the outline image. Once that was done, I went back in with what I would normally consider the 2nd step, but this way I could get everything lined up properly! Once I figured that out, it was so easy to get these put together!

If you can't tell, I simply adore using the Nifty Plaid Background. I stamped it in Hawaiian Shores ink and then added some ink blending around the edges and then some ink splatter over the top.

I used the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from the new Feathered Friends 3 mini stamp set, which I will share at the bottom of today's post. I really like both of the sentiments that are included in this set and I will probably be using them a lot!

I tied a bow of True Black Baker's Twine around the card and tied in a bow for some added texture and detail. I used dew drops here and there inside the vase portion for some watery looking detail.

For my next card, I added the sweet bird from the Feathered Friends 3 stamp set and the other sentiment included in the set. Isn't it so adorable? I kept saying "the world is so much "tweeter" with you in it" when I was making this card! LOL!

I arranged the stems inside the vase again on this card, but for some reason I kept them straight up and down! ha ha! It wasn't until I was editing my photos that I noticed how unnatural it looked! LOL! While it looks unnatural, they do look tidy, don't they?

I decided to stamp two birds at once while I was making my card at the bottom of today's post. I had this little guy left over and ended up popping him at the bottom of the vase for some added interest. The Feathered Friends collection is one of my favorites and I love adding them on my projects!

The background is a 4 by 5 1/4 inch piece of Bitty Big: Aqua Mist pattern paper and then I added a Pierced Feature Frames: Oval frame over the top using foam squares. I added the vase in the center using additional foam squares. The sentiment is stamped on the smaller print of the same Aqua mist paper using black ink.  I secured it to the frame using glue dots.

I added the bird and a few sequins for added detail.  Once again, I used the guide that was provided for us for my colors. I really love this combination!

I think this particular color combination works nicely for spring AND fall alike!

This last card using the Ravishing Ranunculus stamp set uses it more as a background with the sentiment as the focal point!  I'm sneaking an early peek of the new Inside Sentiments set that will be showcased tomorrow! Shhh...don't tell anyone!

It pairs perfectly with the sentiment die from the new Border Bling: Grateful Vine. I used the border on the bird card from yesterday. I die cut it twice out of white cardstock and then once out of gold specialty paper and glued them together.

The background uses the new Trellis Cover Plate, which is so much fun! I kept the middle diamonds in tact for a different look and it also gave me the opportunity to add a dab of glue to each one to secure it to the card base.

The sentiment is stamped on the middle size circle from the Love to Layer: Scalloped Circles and then the grateful word is glued above.

This is my last card for today and uses so many things that I love! I used the gorgeous Aqua/Yellow color combination again, paired with touch of Mint!

I used the Cover Plate Trellis die for the background, cutting it out of white cardstock and then adding it over a Aqua Mist card base using liquid glue. Once that was done, I added the outer frame that is die cut using the Border Bling: Tin Stitch Die with foam squares. I also added the white leaf vine that is from the new Border Bling: Grateful Vine die.

I love any excuse to use the Into the Blooms die which worked perfectly to accent this card. I added a few of the daisies here and there as well as a trio of leaves. The bird is tucked on top of the flowers and leaves using foam squares.

The sentiment is stamped in black and added using foam squares. I tucked it inside the frame for something different. I seem to get stuck in  design ruts, so it's always fun to try something new!

This concludes day 3 of the release! Join me again tomorrow for the 4th and final day! Thanks for fluttering by!

Ink to Paper August Release Countdown Day 1

Hello and welcome to day 1 of the Ink to Paper August release countdown! The name of this first set that I'm showcasing is "Hello Pumpkin" and couldn't be more fitting for what you'll be seeing over the next few day! ha ha! As I mentioned a few days ago, we're diving into all things autumn and Halloween for this upcoming release!

My first card for today uses the fabulous new "Hello Pumpkin" stamp/die set and new addition to the Border Bling family, called Border Bling: Leaves! This die collection includes two frames and a little cluster of the leaves to die cut individual pieces.

One of my favorite elements from the new Hello Pumpkin set is the cut little grapevine nest/wreath image! I've been having so much fun with it and it will be such a fun addition on future projects!

As you can see, I added in some of the fabulous flowers dies from the Into the Blooms die collection! They work so nicely and give this card such a fun autumnal touch, don't you think?

I chose to dry emboss the frame with some ink blending around the edges. The "Hello Pumpkin" sentiment is stamped in black for some contrast!

My next card also uses the "Hello Pumpkin" stamp set, but this time, I added in the Jack-O-Lantern face from another new set called "Scaredy Cat". I also used some of my favorites from last year's Halloween release as well.

For this card, I used Distress Oxide Ink to create a blended background in Autumn colors and then used the Border Bling Leaves die. I stamped the Caught In My Web stamp set in the upper corner using black ink. I also used the fun new "Inside Greetings Halloween" for the bottom of the card.

I die cut the Boo! sentiment 3 times using the To Die For Sentiments: Halloween and glued it together with liquid glue. I also added a layer of Nuvo Crystal Glaze for some added detail and shine!

I arranged the pumpkin and leaves between the two sentiments using foam squares. I also added a trio of sparkling clear sequins for shine!

I used small pieces of black foam squares to pop up the Boo! I ended up by saving all of the little leaves that were die cut from the frame that I used on another project that I'm sharing today!

I layered the entire blended panel onto a top folding A2 card base using additional foam squares!

Up next is my card using the Scaredy Cat stamp set I talked about earlier! It is such a sweet Halloween set and I love the fonts!

This card also features the new Hay Bale dies which are so much fun for so many Halloween/Autumn projects! I tied this hay bale up with jute twine for a realistic and fun detail.

I used the same steps for this Boo! as well as the one on the previous card. The "Trick or Treat" sentiment is heat embossed in white and then die cut using the Love to Layer: Scalloped Circle Dies

The background is stamped using the versatile Nifty Plaid background stamp for a fresh and modern look. The black cat at the bottom is simply die cut using the Scaredy Cat die collection twice and then glued together. It also got a nice coat of Crystal Glaze for some added shine. There IS a black cat image that goes with this die, I just wanted to something a little bit more stark for this design. It felt more cohesive with the BOO!

The other image is stamped in black and then I colored it using Copic markers. The tail and the head are separate solid images that I stamped in black. I added yet another coat of Crystal Glaze to this image as well!

The entire thing is framed using the Skinny Stitched Frames for some added color and detail! I added all of this to a black A2 top folding card base.

My last card of the day uses the Hello Pumpkin set and all of those blended leaves from the other Halloween card!

The sentiment is heat embossed in gold, which I always love! I layered the pumpkins up in the wreath/next and then added the vellum sentiment over the top!

I added the leaves here and there using foam squares for added dimension. I used another one of the sentiments from the Inside Greetings: Halloween set stamped in black at the bottom!

You can see the shine of the embossing a little bit better in this photo as well as the detail of the die cut leaves on the border.

The finishing touches are a little bow of jute twine on the stem of the pumpkin and a trio of sparkling clear sequins for shine! I've got a nice start to my autumn/Halloween cards! Join me again tomorrow for day 2 of the countdown! Thanks for fluttering by!
