Wintertime Welcome

The cutest new couple moved into the neighborhood along with their super-precious twin baby girls! I couldn't wait to deliver a "welcome to the neighborhood" gift basket and card! I don't know if I've mentioned it or not, but I have a tendency of buying all of the stamps/dies/stencils/etc. that I fall in love with and they get sent to a specific "new product" basket that I have next to my desk. Unfortunately, this basket is bursting at the seams since I rarely get a chance to do "just for fun" creating! I decided to put a dent in the basket with today's card. I don't want to put the items away in their designated bins until I've actually USED them, otherwise they will be forgotten. Once I've created, photographed, and posted the project, the chances of me forgetting about a product are greatly reduced! Does this sound familiar to anyone? ha ha!

To begin, I used a beautiful embossing folder from Simon Says Stamp, which appears to be discontinued or out of stock. It was part of their holiday release; I snagged two others in addition to this one, so hopefully I'll get a chance to use those as well! ha ha! I used Stormy Sea cardstock which looks absolutely beautiful with this deep embossing! I added some white paint splatter for a snowy look.

I die cut the houses from Soft Stone cardstock using the My Neighborhood Dienamics. I glued the corresponding roofs to each house using liquid glue and then added them to the embossed panel using foam squares. I probably should have waited until I added the sentiment strip, because after I edited these photos, I noticed they were wonky! oh well! ha ha! I gave the rooftops some glittery snow for some added detail and sparkle.

Speaking of the sentiment, I heat embossed the "welcome" sentiment from the Right at Home  stamp set onto a strip of Smokey Shadow cardstock using silver powder. I adhered it to the embossed panel using foam squares.  I almost left the card just like that; clean and simple, but then I remembered that I had an extra pine bough and pinecone left over from THIS card, so I added it to the top!

I'm really glad I remembered it because it enhanced the images from the embossed background so nicely!

Since I had so many die cut houses left over, I decided to gussy up the inside by adding another sentiment and a cute little house! Thanks for fluttering by!

MFT & Friends October 2020 Release {Merry and Bright}

Hello friends! I'm super excited to be a "MFT Friend" for the October My Favorite Things release! I've had so much fun using many of the new products so I have A LOT to share with you today! You can read all about the new release over on the My Favorite Things Blog as well!

My first card for today uses the FABULOUS new Merry and Bright Die-Namics. I chose to die cut it twice out of white cardstock and then add the color using blender brushes and ink. I used the same color inks as the stripes in this fabulous new pattern paper pad called "Christmas Cheer". I've used it a lot for today's projects because it is just so cheery!  I don't have the links to each of the new products, but you can find the new release HERE.  I layered the colored letters on top of the second set I die cut using liquid glue for nice and sturdy pieces.

I layered them onto the snowflake panel using little strips and pieces of foam squares for dimension and then added a coat of Nuvo Crystal Glaze over the top and a sprinkling of coarse crystal glitter to the tops to look like snow.

I'm in love with the sweet penguins from this new Holiday Penguins stamp set. I decided to use one to accent this fun design! He has a White Nuvo drop on his Santa hat and I added a die cut candy can to his flipper for some added holiday charm!

I layered the snowflake panel onto a panel of the colorful striped paper to pull it all together! This is all on a top folding A2 white card base.

Here's another card using more sweet images and a sentiment from the new "Holiday Penguins" stamp set! They are just too cute and I know I will be using this set all season long! The sentiments are perfect for gift packaging and tags!

I created the background panel using Distress Oxide inks and some white paint splatter for a winter-y look! I stamped the images and then colored them using an assortment of alcohol markers and then die cut them using the coordinating Holiday Penguins Die-Namics.

The sentiment is stamped directly onto the die cut Snowy Hillside that was released last year. They worked perfectly to build this holiday scene. I layered the snow using foam squares for a dimensional scene.

I highlighted the tree by adding a die cut circle using pattern paper from the Christmas Cheer paper pad. The snowflakes are the "freebie" die with a qualifying purchase. They are called "Sweet Snowflakes" and are perfect additions to your winter/Christmas projects!

I added an assortment of Nuvo drops to the ornaments to give them some shape, shine, and color! A few sparkling clear sequins finish off this design!

Next up is a little duo of tags using the super sweet new Pure Innocence girls called "Sweet Christmas Wishes"! I couldn't decide between red or green striped tights, so I made one of each! ha ha!

I used one of the fun new sentiments from the Holiday Penguins stamp set, but the Pure Innocence set has some fabulous sentiments as well!

My last card for today uses another one of the adorable new Pure Innocence girls...this one is called "Reindeer Games", of course! Ha ha! I paired her with the fabulous new sentiment stamp called "Wishing You a Very Merry Christmas".

I haven't used an actual bow on a card in forever, but I felt like this cheerful design was begging for one! What do you think...bow or no bow?

I had such a good time using all of these fabulous new products...I didn't get a chance to get a few inky, so I'm sure I'll be using them shortly! Thanks for fluttering by!

Warmest Birthday Wishes

I thought I'd better pop in with these cards I made back in July before summer disappears! They are super simple, but they use the darling Summer Vibes stamp set that was a must-have for me! I got it when it was first released and there it sat, unused! Boo! I decided that I'd just do some simple ink blending and coloring to create some quick birthday cards!

I used the fabulous Cloud Mix-ables Stencil for the sky and some Scattered Straw Distress Oxide ink for the sand portion. I used my color spritzing tool (photo of this near the bottom of the post) to create some sandy specks at the bottom of the panel.

I die cut the panel using the Diagonal Stitched Rectangle dies to give this simple card some extra detail. After that was done, I stamped all of the images in black and then colored them with Copic markers. I don't do nearly as much coloring as I used to and I forget how therapeutic it is! I used the Sunny Vibes Die-Namics to die cut all of the colored images. I arranged them on the card here and there for a beach-y scene! This is my favorite of the two because it has a bit more depth to the scene.

This one is a little bit more plain, but I just adore that sweet little bunny working on her sandcastle! The shell and sun both have a coating of Nuvo Crystal Glaze over the top. After I had photographed the cards, I decided that the umbrellas need some glaze as well, so they are shiny now, too!  I added a trio of White Nuvo Drops to the centers of the palm trees as well as some sparkling clear sequins. The sentiment is stamped onto a strip of white cardstock and added to the panel using foam squares.

For those of you who have asked about the color spritzing tool....this is it! It is from my SU! days and I still have all of the markers that fit with it. This is how I add a lot of the ink splatter to many of my designs.

This little kitty is just the cutest, don't you think? I added it to the inside of the card using foam squares. The sunglasses also have a layer of glaze for some realistic shine. I thought this SENTIMENT was the perfect touch to accent this bibliophile kitty! ha ha! I gave one of these cards to my son for his August birthday and the other will be heading to one of the kiddos from church in the next day or two!
I'm glad I got these cuties inked up, but guess what? I still have MORE summer stamps that I haven't used at all! Those might have to wait until next year! So sad! Summer goes by way too fast! Anyway, thanks for fluttering by!

It's Cake-Chomping Time! and a WINNER!!!

Thank you so much for ALL of your comments on my Keeping Christmas giveaway post! You are all so sweet and I love that you share my same enthusiasm for Downton Abbey AND The Greetery! I have two cards to share with you today, but I'm sure you're all anxious to see who the winner is!

DENISE BRYANT you are the WINNER!!! Congratulations! I'm glad you're a big DA fan! Email me at kellyrory1@msn.com and I'll get the movie mailed out and I can email you the digital gift certificate! Thanks for playing along!

Now that the fun part is over (ha ha) I've got two shark themed birthday cards to share with you. I'm still loving this super cute new Baby Shark Die-Namics and I'm also still needing boy birthday cards for the sweet kiddos from church! I've been doing doorstep deliveries for each of their birthdays and I want a fun card to go along with their birthday gift!

These cards use a bit of a hodgepodge of products, which I always love! To create the backgrounds, I used the Here Comes the Sun Stencil and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide ink. I also added some Mermaid Lagoon ink splatter over the top as well.

The sharks are die cut from Enchanted Evening and Blueberry Sky cardstock. The teeth are white, of course, and the inside of the mouth is Pure Poppy. The eyes are die cut from black cardstock and then I added a dot of white using a gel pen. I added some Nuvo Crystal Glaze over the top for some realistic looking shine! Both sentiments are from the Sharky Sentiments stamp set that coordinates with the dies. I heat embossed the "It's Cake-Chomping Time" sentiment using white powder and then stamped the "Keep on Smiling" sentiment onto a tab that is die cut using the Altenew Tabbed die set. I wanted to continue with the zig zag look of the teeth, so I added a bit of machine stitching to the bottom using my sewing machine. I added a trio of dew drops to each of the cards using liquid glue.

I always like including something on the inside as well. I stamped the sentiment on the inside, which is from the Inside Greetings: Birthday Wishes, in black ink. It goes perfectly with the sentiment on the outside, don't you think? Thanks for fluttering by!

Take a bite out of cake!

I fell in love with the super cute new Baby Shark dies and coordinating Sharky Sentiments. They arrived in my mailbox a few days ago and I couldn't wait to use them to put together a few birthday cards! I also got the Two Scoops stamp set, which I'm super excited about. Everything showed up in my mailbox at the same time, but I didn't necessarily think I would use the two together As I was putting these together, I just felt like the ice-cream cone would be super cute in the shark's fin!

To begin these two cards, I cut two panels of Aqua Mist cardstock measuring 4 by 5 1/4 inches. I rummaged around in my older and neglected stencils and decided to use the Crossing Waves stencil for something fun and a little bit different. I used Faded Jeans Distress Oxide ink and a blender brush to add the ink, leaving it lighter in the center of the panel. I spritzed it with Shimmer Spray and set them both aside to dry while I got to work die cutting the baby sharks. Super easy, super simple die cutting and assembly. I used liquid glue to put everything together. I added a white dot to each eye and then added a layer of Crystal Glaze to each of the eyes as well.

I used foam squares to pop the shark up onto the stenciled background at a jaunty angle. The sentiment is heat embossed in white onto a black strip of cardstock and added to the card front using foam squares as well. As I mentioned earlier, I didn't plan on using the ice-cream cone image, but ice-cream just goes with cake!

I die cut the pieces using theTwo Scoops dies and then used my mini MISTI to do the stamping. I just love these realistic multi step stamps!  I added the cone to the shark's fin using additional foam squares. I'm totally craving ice-cream now! LOL! I added a few dew drops using liquid glue. I always like using embellishments like this on cards like this because it really gives a sea-like quality!

I wanted to use another one of the Sharky Sentiments, so I stamped the inside of each card with the "have a killer birthday" in black ink. Just something simple to continue the shark theme to the inside.
I have some fun things coming up in the next few days so stay tuned! Thanks for fluttering by!

MFT & Friends {You are a FLURRY OF FUN}

Hello and welcome! This is my last post as a MFT "Friend" this month and I've had so much fun! I was so happy to see that the cute, new BB Snow Buddies stamp set have made it back in stock! This is a set that I haven't had a chance to use until now, so I was thrilled they were back!

I'm pretty much a fan of all of the Birdie Brown line of stamps and these cuties are no exception! I can't wait to make cards using this set all winter long! The sentiments are so fun and punny, just perfect for many of the kinds of cards I enjoy making!
I ended up by making two cards for today because these images are just too cute! To begin, I did some ink blending using Tumbled Glass, Broken China, and Faded Jeans Distress Oxide ink. I used the Masking Stencils that are on sale right now, AND are back in stock to create both the circle and rectangle backgrounds.  I used the Rectangle stencil set for this particular card.

Before I removed the stencils, I stamped the snowflake images, which are also from the Snow Buddies stamp set, ink white and Broken China Distress Oxide ink. I also spritzed it with Shimmer Spray and some white paint splatter to really set the snowy scene!

I set the backgrounds aside to dry and got to work stamping and coloring the different images that I planned on using. I used an assortment of alcohol markers in different cool shades; purple, pink, and blue.

Once I was done coloring these cuties, I die cut them using the BB Snow Buddies Die-namics. I added some clear tinsel glitter to the pom poms on the hats and then I used coarse glitter on the snowman to really enhance the frosty feeling! I added a trio of sparkling clear sequins using liquid glue. The entire panel is adhered to a top folding white card base using foam squares.
My second card uses the Circle stencil set and I did the ink blending the same way as in the previous card.

I think I've mentioned before that I am afraid of dogs; like really bad, so this stamped dog is as close as I'd like to get! LOL! He is super cute and so much fun to color! I added some Crystal Glaze to the dog's nose for some realistic shine and fun detail.

I added some white polka dots to the girl's sweater for some added detail and interest. I forgot to mention that I also added some white details to the girl's puffy coat in the first card to really give it that realistic shine as well.

The snowdrifts on the fence line got a generous dusting of "glitter snow" using a 2 way glue pen as well as the tinsel glitter that is added to the girl's pom pom on her hat! These two cards were so much fun to make! I'm sad my month is over, but I will still be sharing lots more projects in the next little while using many more of this fabulous release! Thanks for fluttering by!
