Severina Raine

Not sure what happened with this miniature, none of the parts seemed to fit together properly, resulting in me using green stuff to fill all the huge holes, this coupled with the undercoat wiped out most of the detail, and then I picked a crappy color scheme. Feels like I went back 10 years with my painting on this one....

Officio Prefectus Commissar

Good lord that's a mouthful...why change the Commissariat to Officio Prefectus? It's even harder to pronounce! Anyhow, this is a nice plastic model that was really easy to put together (only glued two fingers together), and comes with a bolt pistol and an over sized plasma pistol, now while Im a fan of the plasma, I felt a bolt pistol would make more sense for a Commissar.

Warforge Commissar

Another mini that hasn't painted up well, I think I got some PVA glue mixed onto a paint brush or something. Shame as its a nice minie, but could do with a bit more detail on the chest/stomach area. Also the bolt pistol is a bit on the poor side. Oh well.

Commissar's

Some more Commissar's for the 13th Albion. Only one of these is a proper GW miniature, the girl with the flowing coat is from Raging Heroes, and is quite nice if a little spindly. The other is a one eyed female SS officer that was given away at Hammerhead 2011 which I managed to snag off a guy on the LAF forums.

Some More Commissar's

I managed to get hold of these two Rogue Trader era Commissar's (though they have Chaplian on thier tabs) from a fellow (Eastern Barbarian) on the Lead Adventure forum. Im not sure how usable they are with the current rules, as Commissar's cant carry lasguns, though they could work as Overseer's for a Penal squad, hmmm.
I may have to go back and sort out the gray drybrushing on the coats ans they look rather well...crap to be honest.

Catachan Squad with Commissar

Yet another infantry squad painted up and completed, this time packing a melta gun and heavy bolter, and dragging a Commissar along to boot. I kinda like these older Catachan's, sure they are over muscled ape men, but at least they look better than the god awful plastics that replaced them. The three remaining Last Chancers slid into this group quite nicely as well.

Objectives and yet another Commissar

I've been intending to get into playing Necromunda and figured a good way to get in the mood while I gather my gang was to have a go at painting up some loot counters or objective markers.

Both of these are resin cast miniatures from Ramshackle games, but do to an accident going up the stairs, the power armored corpse (Gilgamesh I think his name is) flew out the box hit the wall and shattered, and I dont think I got him all back together. Anyhow he is to represent a forgotten piece of power armor or a heavy load lifting device. I really like the way the yellow turned out.

The mushrooms were actually included in a big box of resin miscasts i got from Ramshackle, and after reading up on the background fluff for Necromunda I figured it would be a good representation of spook fungus, a nasty drug in the hive city.

And here wave yet another Commissar (I only have one left to paint and then Im Commissar free.....unless I paint up my spare guard commander....). Another of the old Last Chancer models, this time Hero. Something really nice and simple to him, nothing really outlandish and Games Workshoppy, nice for a change.

Commisar and Sniper

I managed to get hold of a few more Last Chancer models a few weeks back and the quickest to start and finish was the sniper Scope. Now all I need are three regular guardmen to finish the sniper squad.

For the Commisar I tried a new color scheme and to be honest Im not totally happy with it and dont think I'll paint many more officers all white, though there is a reason for his uniform color. I intend to have him join the Talarn command group i have sat waiting to be painted.

Vostroyan Squad with Commisar

Another squad I had painted up in one of my boxes, re based them all to fit my current army, but decided against stripping them.
The Commissar is an old Valhallan model I bought off eBay already painted way back in 2005.

Imperial Guard Part 3

So far all Im doing is working my way through the various metal miniatures I have, stripping them down from the horrid 2005 paint job and repainting them in time for the May release of the new Guard Codex.

So far things are going as planned, I have so far two Commisar's with power fists, Rocket girl from the Last Chancers, Iron Hand Straken, a female Guard with Autocannon, a Rogue Trader officer and a Catachan officer with a power fist all stripped as well as all ten Tanith models ready to go into my dip (Mr.Muscle Kitchen cleaner).

Anyhow, Ive been painting like a little painting squirrel thing all week (And all I have to show for it is 4 mini's, rather crap I know.) and I finally got around to sticking some pictures up. I really need lessons in taking better pictures, I use a Sony Cybershot and its lack of options is amazing.

One of the first miniatures I ever bought was the original Yarrick after his release, this fella has been sat in a box for years, caked in old Airfix paint, 48 hours in the dip and he was back to base metal. His old flag pole was bent and misshapen so I snipped it off. Ive always liked this mini over the newer Yarrick, maybe its the history...

I spent two hours on the wounded Cadian and love the result, I think Ive managed to nail painting white. I resisted the urge to add blood all over the place....

Following those are the Last Chancers Warrior Woman and the US Games Day 98 Female Commissar.

The Commissar is a sore point, some people claim its limited due to its GD status, others say it isnt due to the fact it was released into the GW online stores in the US. Well this mini was never released in the UK and is now out of print, so as a result, it is in fact a limited miniature, not that justifies people charging £20 on ebay for it...

The Commissar is another rescued paint job, 24 hours in the dip, one black under coat later, and about 4 hours painting time, my eyes and back hurt after finishing her.

The Warrior Woman (A clear ref to Xena judging by the skirt) was painted to match the styles that are going to run through the army, white armor, black outter garments and grey under garments.

Hopefully I'll have more posted soon.

Imperial Guard continued

Two more additions to my Guard regiment. A second Commisar armed with an impressive looking power fist, and a female Catachan with grenade launcher.

The female miniature wasnt released in the UK so when I spotted her blister in the GW store (A result of a shipping mistake) I snapped her up.

Imperial Guard Command

Ive put my wastelands/post apocalyptic project on hold for a short time to get some of my old Imperial Guard stripped and re painted in time for the new releases in May.
Commisar Yarrick, a Cadian Senior Officer and a Pysker, I chose a black and white scheme more or less inspired by Star Wars. They are have matching elements, black and white uniforms, red sashs, and green laurel leaves.
I dont know what it is with digital cameras, but they just seem to make paint jobs look bad -_-;;
