See Me is a sexy little short story that I released with Samhain last fall. I knew a story told in first person present tense wouldn't appeal to all readers, but Lydia, the heroine, took ahold of my heart and I had to let her tell her story in her own way. I love this story and so I was pleased when I was notified of this great review from Whipped Cream I'm always so thrilled when a reader "gets" it.
Through the eyes of desire…
These days, Lydia is feeling increasingly restless, and tired of being invisible. No one at work notices the nose-to-the-grindstone colleague dressed in business drab. Her neighbors don’t even know her name.
No one knows she burns off her frustration by dancing to her favorite music, alone in her apartment. No one knows her closet is a wardrobe divided: monochrome and flats by day, silk and stilettos by night. No one knows her secret ritual has slowly evolved into private stripping…then dancing naked on her tiny balcony, daring someone—anyone—to notice.
Then, at the apartment across the way, the curtains move.
Wes can’t believe what he’s been missing by working the night shift. He is drawn to the amazing woman whose every sensual move makes his body ache. And when she catches him watching, the evening explodes into an erotic fantasy. Afterward, though, she confesses she’s not all she seems. No way is this fiery siren as boring and unlovable as she claims.
And no way is he going to let her go without convincing her she is brave, beautiful…and the face he wants to see every morning.
I just want to be noticed. To be accepted for who I am and what I can do. I just want someone to...see me.
Intrigued? You should be. Those are the feelings of Lydia in Natasha Moore's book, See Me. Now, this is a short little book, but that doesn't mean its not packed with excitement--both erotic and plot excitement. Although this book is told in first person and not my favorite means of storytelling, it works for what Lydia has to say. The writing flows, like having a converation with a friend, albeit a hinky conversation.
Lydia is like any woman. She feels invisible unless she's in her zone. Who can't relate to that? We all have days where it seems like we're just moving in a little space and completely invisible to the world around us. I liked she was so realistic. Another thing I liked was the depth in her character. This wasn't a run-of-the-mill heat story. She's wanting more than a roll in the hay. She wants love and understanding. Again, who can't relate to that?
And then there's Wes...the man is sex on legs. If I were in Lydia's shoes--and yeah, she's got lots of funky shoes, so many I was jealous--I wouldn't be able to turn Wes down either. I loved the fact that they were so compatible. Sure there were moments when I wasn't sure how the story would end, but that's the fun of reading this book. Get yourself a copy. You'll see what I mean.
If you want a book with brains and heart, then you need to read See Me. I give it 4 cherries.

Good Girl Heroines
This weeks we're talking about our favorite heroines here at Fierce Romance. It's not easy for me to come up with a favorite. I love all my heroines, from the submissive jewelry designer in Bound by Design to the futuristic sex slave in Chains of Desire to the customer service phone rep in See Me. I love them all. But if I had to pick my favorite type of heroine, I'd have to pick the good girl.
I've written several good girl heroines. Sarah Austin in The Ride of Her Life. Julie Brightman in Dark Angel. Annie Shane in Bad to the Bone.
Annie is the perfect example of the good girl heroine. She'd never done anything wrong, took care of her sick mother, put her head down and worked her job no matter what, got dumped by a guy who called her boring. She decided that being a good girl had gotten her nowhere and decides to make all her decisions based on the question, "What would a bad girl do?" Of course, she runs into a bad boy who tries to keep her out of trouble, all the while falling in love with her, and the fun starts there.
I have to admit that my love for the good girl rises from the fact that I was a good growing up. So I love giving good girls their own adventures. And sexy heroes who love them just the way they are.
How about you? Do you enjoy reading about good girls and bad boys??

Time of My Life
Today I'm relaxing after the last few crazy, busy, fun, exhausting, over-eating, emotional holiday celebrating days. I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday and now comes the time when we tend to look back. Over the past year. Over the past decade.
And look ahead.
But I didn't want to write a typical heading-to-the-new-year post - there will be lots of them over the next week or two. So, since our theme this week is time, I hopped over to You Tube to see what music videos had to offer.
There was Cyndi Lauper's Time After Time. Totally dated but a cool little mini-movie - my favorite type of music video.
There's the Glee version of Time Warp - what fun!
Then came the perfect time video. What romance lover hasn't played and re-played this scene from Dirty Dancing? My love of the good girl/bad boy romances didn't start with this movie, but this movie certainly fed that love. Unfotunately, I wasn't able to embed the video in this post, but click here for Time of Your Life and enjoy!
And looking back over the past twelve months, I have to admit it was a pretty good year. Not only is my recent release, See Me, doing well, but I'm looking forward to a four story series being released from Samhain, starting sometime this coming spring.
And looking ahead to 2011, I can hope I'll be able to say I'm having the time of my life.

SEE ME by Natasha Moore
My latest release, an erotic short titled See Me, is now available from Samhain Publishing. I was thrilled with the 5 star Amazon review it received.
"See Me, a book about a woman who feels like she's invisible, is a must read. ... Lydia is a character every woman can relate to in one way or another and we all want a Wes in our lives who can look past the outside and really see us. If this is the first time you've read a book by Natasha Moore, it surely won't be the last!"
Here's the blurb:
