Sassy Sugarbowl

Oh Bleh, are we fighting a cold in our house!
Sinuses are stuffed to the max!
Thank goodness for sinutab especially at night......I am able to sleep like a log.

It's been a while since I made a card for the fun of it AND a card for the SugarBowl Challenge! Gawsh I just lurve their sketches! Not enough hours in the day I tell ya! Or days in the week! LOL
I believe I won this Sassy Stamp from Sassy Saturday draw, back when the Sassy blog was still in operation.......hmmmmmm.........how I miss that inspiration!
Meet Amelia
I used some of Tim Holtz papers & at first thought, "meh, not really liking how this is coming together", but now that the pictures are all up......I really do love it! ALOT!
What else do u see here........chipboard, chipboard and more chipboard including my Tim Holtz heart, crown & wings die (the heart is on the inside of the card). Oh and I also used some of my Tim Holtz distress ink to sponge and distress crackle paint to color my wings and crown.

As you read this I am on the road to Souris, Manitoba for an agency shift. It's about a 4 hr drive and with Spring Break here AND with our recent surprise snowfall , the drive is a welcome distraction from the kids....god love them!

Take Care all!

Holy Wow! It has been a long time since I played in the Sugar Bowl sketch
I whipped this one up the other night.
The theme is love & it is optional........(can I get away with the fact that my daughter loves school).....and this is Kiki's sketch.

Kiki77LOVE

And here is my interpretation.

For the month of February at the Let's Ink It Up Monthly Challenge Blog we have a challenge that EVERYONE loves. Almost as good as our last one! This month it is :

RIBBONS & LACE

REMEMBER: You must use rubber stamps here at Let's Ink It Up!

Our sponsor for this month is Lily Of The Valley offering up this prize:

ALSO, this card is for MY LAST POST AS A SKETCHY CHALLENGES DT MEMBER (I know, it seems like I just began & I did.....but I had to surrender another DT position in order to make more time for ma famille)! Farwell, my SKETCHY GIRLS! You are another bunch of the most talented people I have had the pleasure of working with in blogland! *wipes tears*.

The sketch this fortnight is brought to you by the talented Sandy:

SKETCH16

I have used a Simply Sassy Rubber Stamp called I give you my heart from Funky Kits. This was actually a stamped RAK that I got from a fellow blogger! What is not to love about these Sassy girls, which is why I surrounded her with love! Look at all them hearts! My lace heart doilies are from Dollarama, my pale lace ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbons and the darker pink ribbon on top of that is from The Ribbon Carousel. I have a ribbon addiction I think! I used a few chipboard pieces for accents! And what's a card without pearls!?!>

The Sketchy Challenges on Christmas Eve

Happy Christmas Eve.
As you read this, I am prepping to go to my brother's cabin for some sliding, sledding, skating, supper and gift exchange. You see I have to work tomorrow (Christmas Day) as well as the 26th & 27th. bleh! So TODAY is my Christmas! I hope you are all doing some Christmas preparations as well; AND having fun doing it!
Having said all that, today starts a new challenges at The Sketchy Challenges. Lizzie has put together a fantastic sketch for us to use.
Dec 24 Challenge Sketch

Don't let it frighten you as it did to me!
I didn't know where the heck to begin, then the more I looked at it, the more I realized I could totally use my ribbon scraps for the background.
I used my So What Simply Sassy Stamp from Funky Kits.  My sentiment stamps are called Awesome Kids from Graphicat Designs.....I won this stamp set from a Graphicat Sketch challenge. Works so perfectly with this sassy little image, dontcha think?
This will make a great birthday card I'd say!

Sure hope you can join us over the holidays to play with this funkadelic sketch!!!

Anything & But.........

***This above gift cert has been added to my candy draw...see sticky post at the top of my blog for details**

----------------------------------------

How is everyone doing today!?
Me? I'm still waiting for the Christmas Spirit to kick me in the butt.
You see, there is not very much snow here, so it seems as though my spirit of the holiday season is wavering! We usually have a whole whacka snow, at this time, enough to make a snow pile in the backyard for the kids to slide down: like this:

Not this year! Not yet anyways! So having said that I have made a creation that is Anything But........

................. Christmas!!!
I decided not to make a Christmas themed card.
Rather a male themed bookmark! How do you like them apples! LOL
I have made my bookmark using my  Lost in Thought dude that I purchased from Funky Kits. I used my Tim Holtz picket fence die to make my edge, upside down..... just like so. Some stitching, some ribbon and some buttons with a couple suh-weet words & wicked-a$$ chipboard sunglasses, makes this one awesome corner bookmark.

Thanks for stopping by today, Pls pop by tomorrow for a very important post!

Challenges for my bookmark:
Sweet Stamps- chipboard
Really Reasonable Ribbons- anything goes with ribbon
Bunny Zoes- fancy folds/shaped cards
Cards for Men- number 2- 2 buttons, 2 description words
The Crafty Pad- anything but Christmas

If you missed the blog hop featuring the Final Set #11....then you missed a good finale, that's for sure. Thank goodness those beauties jumped into my shopping cart as a set; for now they are only available as single stamps at FunkyKits, which is still better than nothing, right!
Anywho, the reason for my post today is because, Maria asked me if I would put a little something together for the FINAL Spotlight at the Simply Sassy blog. Of course I was more than happy to oblige!
Thanks again, Maria, for all your kind words.

I have chosen Secret Santa! Isn't she cute! I colored her completely with copics....something I RARELY do, because a) i don't own this many b) i don't own this many ! LOL
Papers are K&Company (i think) and wee poinsettias are from Micheals. I placed misc flowers underneath them and centered them with some pearly brads. My ribbons are from The Ribbon Carousel.

You must check out this last Spotlight at the

Pls remember to use a RUBBER stamp in order to participate in our challenge!
NO DIGIS!!

What's up for grabs this month.......we have two fabulous sponsors!

I have chosen a stamp from one of my new fave stamp lines, Simply Sassy Stamps. Meet Christmas Kisses. Isn't she lovely! I have chosen to use some non-traditional Christmas colors for my card. I've also chosen to layer up a storm here! LOL . I did a bit of dry embossing, glittering and painting with my crackle paint. I kinda like the effect it creates. The sentiment is from a Some Odd Girl clear stamp set!

Challenges for my card:

Decorate for Christmas

I was so pleasantly surprised when Sheri from My Sheri CRAFTS e-mailed me the other day to inform me that I could be a GDT on her blog this week! How could I refuse right!!

The theme this week is

DECORATE FOR CHRISTMAS

How much more festive can you get than this theme right!?!?

I chose to use this Simply Sassy Stamp called All Wrapped Up & she is available at Funky Kits. I totally think she is decorating for Christmas with her wrapping paper, tags and OBVIOUS garland strung up behind her! lol.....oooo let's not forget about them lights on the ribbon & paper!
I was in a green tone mood the other night when the girls & I got together for a coloring session. Perhaps it was the 'green' feeling I had the day after, that I was preparing for whilst coloring this beauty! LOL These ribbons are courtesy of The Ribbon Carousel.

This sticker sentiment is from my CTMH stash.

Thanks for stopping by today and we sure hope to see your version of decorating for Christmas over at My Sheri's Crafts Challenge! Take Care

Challenges for my card:
MAWTT- ribbons & bows
Simply Create Too- all about Christmas

I'm in the SPOTLIGHT & a GDT creation!

OMG.
OMG
 OMG!!

Did u see that!?!>
YUP...I'm in the spotlight at the Simply Sassy Blog this week.
Please hop over there to get a load of my answers to their questions.
How did this happen, you may ask! Well there I was merrily working my night shift at work, when I was checking my e-mail and there was a msg from the talented Maria Therese, asking if I would like to spotlit at the Sassy Blog!!!! I nearly fainted, right after I jumped up and down for about 10 minutes. Lack of oxygen I think! LOL
I immediately answered her, before the jumping part, saying YES!!!!!! EEEK!!!!
So today is the day people!
Today is also the day that I am a GDT for the Use it Tuesday Challenge blog.
Isn't the excitement just killing you right about now?!!?!
So at the UIT challenge- the theme is :

COOKING

I've used a Sassy Girl, called Sundae Service & made a cupcake to match. I KNOW I KNOW, she is not holding a cupcake, but I was aching to make one of these and what better reason than for a spotlight creation AND GDT spot!
Oh it was so much fun to make this, after the base & I got over our initial fight, I think we got along fairly well thereafter! I got the tut for the cupcake HERE on YouTube!

Sundae Service was colored with copics for the skin & hair then watercolor pencils, blending stumps & baby oil for the rest! These are my Echo Park papers that I've had FOREVER....or at least it feels like forever as well as the chipboard  cherries! Foreva!!!! Now let's talk about all them ribbons on my cupcake......""Hello, my name is Corry & I am a ribbon holic""......so many ribbons waiting to get used, this is a terrific way to use them! And what about that cheesecloth.......well, I use it all the time, who doesn't know that!

Below are a few finer details.

{{This cupcake would not have been possible without the my newly purchased hot glue gun from Wal Mart!}}

In the picture above, the cherry is actually a red puffball (I think that's the official word for it- lol) that I coated with crystal effects & glitter then added a wire stem.

In the picture below, I added liquid applique & glitter to the sundae whipping cream.

OH & you thought I just stopped at ONE creation for my SPOTLIGHT......

NNOooooooooooooooo sirrreeee!!!

I made a lovely doorhanger for my niece. She just moved to the big city with the rest of the family & I thought this would be a nice room warming gift. She's 14 years old.
This little Sassy is called Tiffany. Once I colored her I realized how much I love her!

Doorhanger is from Susie Sugars Die Cut Dreams Store.
Flowers are from WOC.
Pink ribbon leaves are from Really Reasonable ribbons.
Stamens with the leaves are from Bizzy Becs
All ribbons are misc from my stash.
Chipboard heart from Dollarama. I sponged with pink CTMH ink & painted over with tattered rose distress ink then covered with glitter.
A bit of liquid pearls around the image inspired by my girl LOU

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope I've inspired you to become just as addicted to Simply Sassy Stamps as I am! They have a NEW Line of Sassy's coming soon....I must control myself!

If I have, they can be purchase here at FunkyKits!!
