Loads of Love

My grandson loves trucks so when it came time to make his birthday card, I reached for my Eyelet Outlet Truck Brads!  There's 3 construction themed trucks in the set - a cement truck, a front end loader, and a dump truck.

I went with a box card since it had been a while since I made one of these. I used images from the Cricut image library to fill the box. I used a couple of Eyelet Outlet enamel hearts in yellow and black to fill the dump truck brads on the front flap and the cement truck and front end loader on the other two flaps.

Going Places

It's a 3-day Holiday weekend for many people. that means going places - family gatherings, mini-vacations, or to the store to get more groceries for backyard picnics, etc. Whatever your plans, enjoy them and stay safe.

I even added a school bus (one of the new brads at Eyelet Outlet) to the traffic, as a reminder that for some people there's still a wee bit of school left after this weekend.

Another great way to spend the 3-day weekend is some online shopping (avoid all the traffic). Head over to the Eyelet Outlet store to see what you find there.

The Country Life

Hi! It's Kim from Katydid Cards with you today!

The Dog, Truck and Boot Brads from Eyelet Outlet combine perfectly to make this country themed flip card any cowboy (or girl) would love.  The three boxes are a perfect size to showcase the brads.

The digital bandana and black and white plaid combine well to accentuate the brads and the Rope Washi Tape down the side provides just the right accent.  This Washi actually has three widths of rope, I trimmed the largest to use here.

The patterns are further enhanced by embossing with a paisley pattern on the left and a check pattern on the right.

When you flip the card, you see how the three brads combine to convey the joy of livin' the country life.  I'd be pretty happy with this combination myself...though I'd prefer a little coupe to a truck and a pair of Wellies to cowboy boots...guess I'm an urban cowgirl at heart.

I've used the Pick-Up brad previously on this card and had fun with the Dog brads here.

Bear Sighting

Some of my favorite memories as a child are traveling with my family - through the Rockies - looking for bears. It's funny but whenever someone saw a bear, they would stop and get out of their cars trying to get close enough to get a "good picture" but not so close as to become a bear's dinner. And of course, other travelers would come along and stop, too. Bear sightings were a big deal!

I tried to capture that memory on today's card.

Here's a closeup so you can see the details outhouse brads.
Just look at the bear faces!

Long Haul Friends

TGIF crafty friends!  Susie here with a friendship card featuring one of our new stamp sets!

I really love the opportunity to come up with a masculine themed card and the new Truck Stamp set made that super easy!

Being from the south I know that pickup trucks are for ladies, too, however I just loved creating a "buddies" card. I stamped and watercolored the images before adding the pick up truck brad.

And you have to make the inside as cute as the outside, right?  I used Tire Track Washi tape to create a border, stamped off a few pick up trucks, and then added another flashy red pickup in the bottom right!

You can find all 16 of the new stamp sets HERE.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find some time to play today!  Susie

Dump Everything

Hi all.  It's Kim from Katydid Cards with you today!

I don't have children, so I've never hosted a children's birthday party.  But, boy, would I love to do that.  There are so many fun party invitation and decorating ideas out there these days, the sky is the limit.

When I saw these Truck Brads, I immediately thought of making a party invitation.  And the Caution Washi Tape, Jewel Bling and Clear Bumpy Bling worked perfectly with the brads.

To create the card base, I modified a cut file I purchased at the Silhouette Store.  The original version was actually a 3D street sign.  The greeting plays off the three dump trucks all in a row.  This brad pack also includes a Cement Mixer and a Front End Loader...perfect for any construction themed project.

The caution not only adds a little accent, it also provides support for the card.  I cut a piece of cardstock and attached the washi tape to both the front and the back.

I filled the hazard light with Clear Bump Bling, colored with a Copic marker.  There was enough room around the perimeter to circle it with jewel bling.

When you open the card, there's just enough room for all the invitation specifics.

I had fun making this and came up with all sorts of ideas for party favors and decorations to go with it.  Now, I just need to find a little boy who loves trucks and has a birthday coming up, lol.
Though it doesn't include trucks, here's another card brought to life with bling and washi tape.

So many boy brads!!

And tying it all together...is a bit of washi tape in the background!

The nursery of this little one will be filled with beach colors and themes.
That is easy peasy with Tropical Fish brads, lots of washi tape in different widths..and

For the Birthday Boy

Hi Friends! kel here today to share a super quick card for a special little boy!

My youngest has a good friend in preschool and his birthday is coming up next week so I thought I'd make him a simple card to give. They bonded over garbage truck and dump truck toys so I thought that these work truck brads would be perfect for him! And I think it came out so cute and simple that I made a few more for his other friends too!!

Instead of adding lots of patterns and embellishments, I decided to focus on the main construction yellow and black colors in these work truck brads. I realized when making cards for the youngest that he doesn't seem to care about the patterned paper and all the embellishments that I thought I needed to add to make a nice card... and instead he gravitated towards the really simple ones with bold colors because the other ones were too busy!!

Thanks for stopping by today and see you again soon!!

Enjoy the Ride!

Hello everyone!  I hope you are having a great 2018 so far!

My brothers are both great car enthusiasts.  They like to buy old, junky "vintage" cars and restore them.  They're really good at it, too, and one of those cars, a gorgeous red hemi Belvedere, has even graced the cover of a popular auto magazine!  We used to go together to car shows and to the drag races (when we didn't live half a continent from each other!), and that's what inspired today's card.

I grabbed Eyelet Outlet's antique car washi tape, red number washi tape, wide ticket washi tapescrew brads, and truck brads to pull this birthday card together.  With its red, black, and white color scheme and tea-dye distress inking, it definitely has that vintage car feel and they'll know exactly what I was going for!

Haha!  Bet you'd never guess that I used to pack the parachute for a AA fuel dragster!  Yep!  It's true!

Can you ever have too many toys?

Dashing Through the Snow!

We had our first snow in Iowa this week ... it was blustery and blowing, but it was clearly white stuff falling from the sky.

I personally love having all four seasons, and enjoy each one equally (okay maybe not equally ... Autumn is the front runner in my book), but I do love the beautiful clean white landscape after new fallen snow.

I used lots of Eyelet Outlet brads to create my fun snowy scene.

I started by die cutting various snow drifts from white cardstock then added lots of the new beuatiful Pine Tree Brads to create my landscape and some Snowflake Brads (in two sizes) to the clear blue sky.

The new Sled Brads (which come in two colors) were perfect for my penguins who are bundled-up for the wintry conditions.  There is even a white bear brad waiting for his turn on the sled.

There are a few Prancing Deer Brads who tend to run out in front of your car this time of year, especially on the tree-lined roads, so you always have to be on alert.

Finally there is a new Red Truck Brad taking home his holiday tree (that like our holiday tree growing-up always seemed to be a bit too big for the space when we got home).

The finishing touch was a sentiment from Joy Clair Stamps Snow Fall stamped with my MISTI in pine tree green..

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like...

...Brand new Eyelet Outlet Christmas goodies!!! Ok, technically the Truck Brads and the Pine Tree Brads (and even the Moose Brads) that I (Lauren) am showing off could be used for all kinds of things, in any season. But if you pair them with some EO Holiday Tapes and add in Christmassy images, they really do ROCK the holiday, don't you think?

My first card was made possible by the fact that my friend Anna just happened to give me the perfect rubber stamp-- it's the house image with the sentiment inside it. Just to the left of the house the stamp has a small evergreen, which immediately made me think, "That would be even cooler with one of the new Pine Tree Brads!" ...a decision I stand by, completely! Once I added it, I realized that the Truck Brad was fairly proportional to the scene, and a Red Heart Pearl would be a little big, but still work. The Snowman Brad was a late edition, but he kind of makes the card, don't you think?

Then all I needed to do was choose coordinating papers. But midway through that process, I realized that I could make my own, using some of my favorite Xmas tapes, so that's what I did! I used the Wide Tree Tape and Merry Christmas Washi on my finished card, but while I was on a roll (for once the pun is unintentional, I swear!) I made additional A2-sized panels using Holly TapePine Tree Bough Tape, and Tree Tape. One of my favorite things about making Washi Paper like this is that it turns out with a lot of tapes, the edges of the designs can be made to line up seamlessly if you just look carefully and apply the tape very neatly. If you look closely at the holly paper and the trees paper, you'll see what I mean. Of course, you don't have to do that to get a great look, but it's a cool "extra" feature!

For my second card I used regular patterned papers, but my focal image is a sepia-toned landscape from an old Ideals Magazine. As soon as I saw it, I thought the scale would be pretty good to put a Truck in the foreground, carrying home the family Christmas tree. To draw even more attention to the brads, I framed the arched window with Champagne Bling Strips and added a band of Glitter Copper Tape at the bottom.

My third card is a bit of a cheat, in that the layers of diecut trees and hills were actually the "extras" from another card that had a few growing pains, lol. But when I stacked them all together, I really liked the look, so I added a paper-pieced house, some Pine Tree Brads and I couldn't resist that adorable Moose

It's definitely not too early to start thinking about holiday cards, and the Eyelet Outlet store is a great place to find all the bradsbling and tape you could possibly need! (They make pretty fabulous gifts, as well!) (Just sayin'...) ♥
