Happy Birthday

We all need birthday cards and I'm trying to make up a stack to have on hand so I'm not scrabbling last minute this year.  Here's one I made today.

The colorful "Happy Birthday" image is from the Cricut Design Space image library.  As soon as I saw it, I knew the Eyelet Outlet Birthday Candle brad would make a perfect "I" for this card!  I topped the candle brad with a flame cut from our gold glitter washi tape.  I added a few balloon brads, a gift brad, and a party hat to finish it off.

Well, I'm off to make the next birthday card for my stash!  See you next week!

Snowy Winter Birthday Wishes!

Do you have family and friends with winter birthdays? Here's a fun, cheery snowman that is sure to brighten their special day!

After stamping my snowman and coloring him in with markers, I used an exacto knife to cut slits around him to place my "happy" banner. Next, I added some white glitter washi for snow and a couple snowflake brads. I added the birthday banner to the bottom and embellished with colorful balloon brads and party hats for a festive birthday card! Creating with washi tape and brads from Eyelet Outlet make card creating easy and fun!

2, 4, 6, 8!

Belated birthday cards are something we all need now and again, but that doesn't mean they can't be colorful and fun! This sentiment, "2, 4, 6, 8... Guess whose card is really late?!" is made visual with the use of oversized vinyl numerals, a computer-printed sentiment in a sturdy typewriter font and two Eyelet Outlet Cupcake Brads, four Party Hats, six Balloons and eight birthday Candle Brads.

The Eyelet Outlet Online Store literally has brads, washi, bling, flowers, eyelets and sequins for EVERY occasion, so whatever sentiment you're dreaming up for your next card, we've got you covered!

thinks she received a card with this sentiment, circa 1980!

NOT Just for Cards!

Eyelet Outlet Washi Tape, Paper Flowers and Brads, that is. You can also use them to make customized gift bags, like this one. Just cover plain white cardstock with neat strips of tape (this variety is Happy Birthday Foil Washi)... print out an initial in your favorite font (this one's called Chicken Pie and was free on dafont.com)... trace and cut. Embellish with a few shades and sizes of Solid Color Paper Flowers held on with CandleParty Hat and Cupcake or Cupcake Swirl Brads. For even more color and pizazz, diecut hearts from a coordinating tape, like Pink Checked Washi and use one repeat of the Birthday Tape to create your sentiment strip. Scatter a few Round Sequins and you're good to go. And yes, all of the above looks pretty good on a matching birthday card, as well!

There are brads, tapes, flowers, sequins, bling and more for every style, theme or occasion you can possibly imagine in the EO Store... you should probably check that out!

now only buys plain gift bags!

HB to a T!

Here's a really fun and EASY birthday card idea that can be adapted to use your favorite Eyelet Outlet Brads and Tapes, customized for any recipient! In this case, I (Lauren) used a bunch of older birthday themed brads and the best news of all is that a lot of them are ON SALE! Including Pastel Balloon BradsBirthday Sock MonkeysLollipop Brads and Cupcakes. I've also used Candle BradsParty Hats and Bright Balloon Brads. My background is made from Wide Calendar Tape and my sentiment is Happy Birthday Washi

The tiny shirts were made with a set of nested T-Shirt dies and a bunch of colorful paper scraps, but you could use any small punch or die of a similar size: hearts, stars and tag shapes, for example, would be really fun! And I'm quite sure you can find the perfect Eyelet Outlet Brad and Tape combination for EVERYONE on your birthday card list!

The ABC's of EO... Part 3

Here are the next five cards in our Eyelet Outlet Brad Alphabet. This set takes us from L to S, with lots of adorable brads along the way.

Today's brads, allocated to each card are:

L: (Holiday) Lights, Lizards from the Reptile Brad set, the Lighthouse from the Boat and Lighthouse set, Lions from the Lion, Tiger, Zebra set, sequel to the popular Jungle Mix.

M: Mailbox from the Mail Brad set, Monkeys from the Jungle Mix, Mrs. Claus from the Santa and Mrs. Claus set, a Mood (technically an Emotion Brad) in a Mask from the CoVid-inspired Mask, Hand Sanitizer and Soap Brads, a Mower from the Lawn Mower Brad set (which is on sale!) and a stately Moose.

N: (Music) Notes, Navigation aka a Compass Brad, Navy (technically a Sailboat from the Boat and Lighthouse set with an Anchor Brad), a stack of Novels which we actually call Book Brads, and a Nutcracker.

O and P: The handsome Owl is known as a Sketched Owl (there are also Owl Brads and Winking Owls... both of which are on sale!), Ornament Brads are also on sale, and the Oven Glove is from the Cooking Brad set; the super-cute Paw Brads are one of two styles, a Party Hat is always a good idea (just ask the Birthday Sock Monkeys) and the Pipe Brad is part of a cool set that your Dad (or handy Mom) would love!

Q and R: Our Crown and Tiara Brads are fit for a Queen, the cute Quackers technically are called Duck Brads and the Quilting supplies are a combination of Thread and Scissor Brads (you need to get creative when it comes to the more challenging letters, lol!); a Rainbow from the Unicorn and Rainbow set, the Ring hails from our Wedding Brads and finally a handsome Rooster.

We're getting towards the end of the Alphabet... next week we'll wrap up with the letters S through Z!

can reveal that the EO Alphabet
will end with "Zebra"!

CAS Fun and Quirky Birthday Card!

Hey everybody! Don't you just love fun quirky birthday cards that are easy?! Leslie here sharing a fun birthday card featuring our Party Hat Brads, Orange Dot Washi Tape and Orange Pearl Bling! These party hats are such a hoot and so much fun to play with!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from heavyweight white cardstock along with a layering panel from a lighter weight white cardstock. I applied a single strip of Orange Dot Washi Tape and then adhered a narrow strip of bright yellow cardstock just above it. I added four Party Hat Brads in a row and adhered the panel to the card base. I stamped a birthday sentiment in black ink on a scrap of white cardstock, cut it with a sentiment strip die, and layered it once more on another piece of the scrap cardstock before adhering it to the card front on an adhesive foam strip. The finishing touch was adding Orange Pearl Bling.

I cut the inside panel from white cardstock and embellished it with a strip of Orange Dot Washi Tape and a narrow strip of the bright yellow cardstock. I stamped a fun sentiment in orange ink and adhered the panel directly to the card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by today - we'll see you next time!

Let's Make Tape Squares

I (Lauren) never get tired of playing with my Eyelet Outlet Washi collection, I'm always excited to come up with new ideas. This birthday card has background made entirely of Chevron Tape strips, which is so fun and colorful that it only needed a few brads... (a Party Hat, a Birthday Sock Monkey and a Birthday Cake, to be precise) ...plus some EO Sequins to finish it off!

Here's how I made that quilt-like background; note that I switched to Pencil Tape for the second sample. I neatly applied strips of tape to plain white cardstock, cut them apart with my guillotine trimmer, then cut the lengths so they were all exactly the same size, in this case, about 3". I affixed them to another piece of plain cardstock, starting at the center and working outward, as you can see in the photos below.

To answer the obvious question: Yes, you could apply strips of tape directly to your background and skip the step of backing them with cardstock; but I found it hard to get the cuts on the short ends absolutely straight, and also it was more challenging to line them up precisely.

When all the strips were applied to the background, I trimmed up the ends and matted the whole panel on some red cardstock, added a Paper Flower stack and a Heart Brad and called it good to go!

Now I want to try this with ALL of my EO Tapes, including the wide ones, the skinny ones and the glitter ones!

loooooooves washi tape!

More Alphabetical Brads?

I (Lauren) have completed the third section in my Brad Alphabet book, covering the letters M through P; which comprises four new pages, featuring twenty-seven Eyelet Outlet brads in twenty different styles!

For the letter M, we've got: a trio of mischievous Monkeys from the Jungle Mix; a Mask from the Co-Vid themed Mask, Hand Sanitizer and Soap set; the Mailbox from our Mail Brads; a Mower from the Lawnmower set; and a handsome Moose Brad.

Representing the letter N: a Nutcracker, some (Music) Notes; an Anchor Brad (which I've re-named "Navy"; yes, I've allowed a bit of artistic license with descriptions, so that I'd have enough brads to cover the entire alphabet!); a stack of Novels (technically they are Book Brads); and a Compass Brad is covering Navigation.

The letter O includes: an Oven Glove from our Cooking Brad set; some Ornaments; a (Sketched) Owl Brad(we've got really cute colorful owls, as well); an Oak (at least I think it looks like an oak) which is part of the Summer Tree Brads; and a Onesie which technically falls under Baby Shirt, and alas the blue ones are out of stock.

For the sixteenth letter of the alphabet... aka P: a pair of pretty cool Penguins; a festive Party Hat; a slightly unseasonal Pumpkin; Popcorn from the Popcorn and Ticket set; and a Pig from our Pig and Sheep Brads.

My bookring is filling up really nicely with ATC's and I still have TEN letters to go; though when we get to Q, X and Z one suspects there will be a bit of doubling up!

I hope you'll be inspired to check out the wide variety of Eyelet Outlet Brads, I'm pretty sure we've got one or two styles that will be perfect for your next project!

is still having fun
with this idea!

Juggling It All

Today's make is a tribute to my amazing daughters who manage their busy lives like professional jugglers!

I chose a juggling animal (in high heels no less!) from Cricut's Birthday Bash image set, but instead of balls, I substituted several different Eyelet Outlet brads to represent just a few of the things these two gals successfully juggle in their daily lives, from diapers to dinner and everything in between!

It was honestly hard to narrow down the brads to use in this card, because there are so many in the Eyelet Outlet store that would have been perfect, but for the sake of space, I decided on the diaper pin, books, soccer ball, vacuum cleaner and saucepan.  I substituted the original party hat on the image with an Eyelet Outlet party hat and used our enamel dots for buttons.

Tell someone you love that's juggling it all how much you admire them today!

You Donut Look Old

I enjoy humorous cards, especially birthday humor, so today's card is exactly that: a humorous birthday card.

You're old...
but you DONUT look it!

I can think of a friend or two that I could send the card to. ;)

I didn't have any Balloon Brads in my stash, but I wanted a balloon on my card. Not to worry - the Ornament Brad looks like a balloon when it's turned upside down, especially if you add a string to it.

Eyelet Outlet Items Used:

Now, remember,
you're never too old
to play with Eyelet Outlet products.

If you're in the Milwaukee Wisconsin area, head over to the Scrapbook Expo there (May 3-4) to check out the Eyelet Outlet booth.
