Follow That Bunny!

Hello and happy Easter Sunday! In celebration of all the traditions of spring and Easter, I have made an envelope box card that contains a little girl with her Easter bunny. I have decorated it with many flower brads, colored egg brads, grass washi, sun & cloud brads and cut jewels.

I combined Rose Brads, Daisy Brads, and bright Fresh Flowers on the front to create a spray of pretty flowers. Rose brads decorate the corners too. You can almost smell them!

Meow Means I Love You

It's always fun to create a scene using Eyelet Outlet Brads, Washi and Bling. I used a stencil and inks to get the fun blended background and a fence die cut from Cricut Design Space. Then I heat embossed the sentiments with black and copper embossing powders. Once that was complete, I added all the fabulous brads and sky washi for the border. It was so quick and simple to make this and EO's products make all the difference! How boring would it be without them? This is such a fun way to remind someone you love them. Birthday Fiesta!

It's fiesta time today and it's easy to celebrate with the new Piñata Brads. They combine perfectly with Cocktail Brads, Fresh Flowers Bright Brads, Lemonade and Fruit Brads, and Music Note Brads. Although I didn't use them, the Cactus Brads would work nicely with this grouping as well.

I made this by first stamping the sentiment and mouse. I also stamped the colorful banner. Then I used the brads to decorate and enhance the panel. It's a very colorful and happy way to celebrate someone's birthday.

Make a Golden Wish!

Today I have a card with lots of glitz and glam. I started by foiling the gold frame and the sentiments on a black cardstock. Then the fun began as I added the lightness of White and Yellow Paper Flowers from Eyelet Outlet. They are secured with a 12 MM Stippled Jeweled Brad. I added Fresh Flowers Bright Brads and Butterfly Brads. I love how this looks so elegant but yet equally cheerful.

Perk Up!

It's time for the Spring/Summer edition of the Coffee Loving Cardmakers' Blog Hop, so of course I (Lauren) couldn't resist showing off my Eyelet Outlet Coffee Brads. Plus a bit of Floral Washi Tape and some fun Paper Flowers, as well! I had been planning to also use my EO Coffee Stamps, but the other day my husband mentioned how happy he was that our lawn and shrubs had "perked up" this spring, and i thought, "Aha! Card sentiment!

I always try to incorporate the seasonal aspect of the blog hop, but frankly, sometimes I do better at that than others. This time I think I did pretty well with the Spring theme, though! I started right off with my carryout coffee cup. I wanted it to be flowery, so of course I could've used patterned paper, but I had this new Flower Washi I'm in love with and I couldn't resist! I applied it neatly in strips on a scrap of plain white cardstock, burnished it really well, then diecut the cup in the ordinary way.

Once I had the cup, I chose all of my papers based on the flower colors in the tape. I matted my label shape and the background for my A7 card, then added a little bit of decorative machine stitching. I made my sentiment flags using a nice petite size of foam alphabet letters, and then it was time for my favorite part: EMBELLISHING!

I added some Fresh Flower Brads and Mini Stitched Flowers to the cup itself and a few more to the label shape. I nestled the cup between the layers of several sizes of Solid Color Paper Flowers, held together with a Coffee Bean Brad and made leaves by snipping apart a large green flower. Then I assembles all the bits and finally scattered a few pale pink Heart Enamels at the very end.

I hope you'll check out all of the fab brads, stamps, tapes, enamels and flowers in the Eyelet Outlet Store, then come join the fun at the Coffee Lovers' Blog Hop which runs through this Friday, May 10th! ♥

Mele Kalikimaka...

...means Merry Christmas in Hawaiian, as any Jimmy Buffet or Bing Crosby fan will tell you. I (Lauren) love to make Hawaii-themed cards all year round, so I don't see why I should stop at Christmas time, especially when I've thought up a truly spectacular pun AND there are so many awesome Eyelet Outlet products to convey a tropical, beachy theme.

My crafty BFF (and fellow EO designer) Stephanie gave me a stamp set called "Polynesian Paradise" for my birthday, and I am absolutely in love with the adorable Hula girl who inspired my sentiment. I thought she'd look especially cute on a Christmas ornament, with a Fresh Flower Brad in her hair, and I stand by that decision. I made a second ornament by neatly lining up strips of Flamingo Washi on plain white cardstock, then tracing a homemade heart-shaped ornament template and cutting it out. I added a Flamingo Brad on a couple of small white Paper Flowers, then "hung" both the baubles from Pearl Bling Strips cut down to fit the space.

One of my favorite ways to use EO brads is to make custom sentiments for my cards. I love alphabet dies and stickers and I always think it's fun to mix and match them. In this case I've used a white all-caps font, but then highlighted "hula" by using larger green letters. The thing that really makes them shine, though, are the Tall Palm Tree and Sun Brads. At the end I couldn't resist a Heart Brad or three just to tie the whole design together.

I hope you'll have as much fun preparing for the HULA-days as I did making this card! ♥

cannot ever resist a tropical brad, or a silly pun,
...or a card that combines both!

Birthday Blossoms

Is it just me (Lauren) or do you think that nearly everybody would secretly like to have a teeny, tiny, non-embarrassing fuss made on or around their birthday? That's one of the reasons why I love to make special cards for my friends and family. It's a GREAT excuse to break out some of the many cool styles of Eyelet Outlet Flower Brads, as well.

On this card I've used Fresh Flower BrightsMini Stitched Flower Brads and... I've invented my very own NEW type of flower brad by adding Pink Enamel Dots to the centers of some suns from the Sun and Cloud Brad set, see?

I've scattered the different sized and shaped brads on top of some awfully pretty stamped flowers from a set called "Bold Blooms" by Pretty Pink Posh. Once I had all of the Flower Brads arranged, I went back and added even more texture and interest by giving some of the stamped flowers tiny Pearl Bling centers or Matte Enamel Dots. Finally I added a diecut sentiment with a tiny Mini Butterfly Brad to dot the "I" in "birthday".

I hope you are having a happy and colorful day, but if not... why not add some beautiful Flower Brads to your life! ♥

The Beach is Always a Good Idea!

Here's a shocking true confession: I (Lauren) am not that great at stamping + coloring. But one of my birthday gifts from my craft-bestie and fellow EO designer Stephanie Severin was an adorable Hawaiian-themed stamp set that I knew would be perfect with ALL of the various Eyelet Outlet Sea Shell Brads, so I couldn't wait to use it!

I painted a beachy little watercolor background using ColorBurst pigment powders. I attached my title (alphabet stickers and trimmed-down Dymo Label Tape) leaving a gap for the border of shells I wanted to use, which included some Shell CornersSea Shore BradsShell Brads and even a Sandcastle Brad. Here's the most important step in my card-making process, which I've said before but it bears repeating: I dry fit the elements, including the brads-- on which I usually flatten the prongs a bit-- so I can see how everything works together! Then, I snap a pic on my phone, so I will remember what order I had everything in, and which bits were over or under something else. Only then do I start poking holes in my background! ;)

Finally, my favorite thing about sweet little character stamps like these, is that the scale makes them PERFECT to mix in a few more brads! In this case, the cute hula girl had a bloom behind her ear that I covered with a Fresh Flower Brad; and you know that as soon as you construct some bamboo lettering a Seagull Brad will immediately come and perch upon it!!!

I hope you'll be inspired to look at your stamps AND your Eyelet Outlet Brads and find more combinations that will be perfect together! ♥
