There are bits of summer that are magical in my mind (not the whole thing if I'm being completely honest). However, family night with our neighbors were great, the library summer reading program was great for the kids, Gordon went to two soccer camps and had a great time, and finding the Pop Badge, Mr. Gold at Legoland.
I'm grateful for summer and the memories we made but I am sure grateful that it is now fall and the kids and I are back in school.

Christmas in July
These twins love to wear their Christmas pajamas all year long, it is so funny and cute. Dallin especially will ask for his Christmas pajamas and in fact refuses to wear just about any other pair. Luckily I got his a pair of basketball pjs recently and he seems to be enjoying those as well.
Lily LOVES all things vegetables! She can sit with a cup of carrots, snap peas, celery, cherry tomatoes, and a small cup of ranch dressing and be seriously content for the longest time. Grandma Pat is smiling down on her and loving that she has a thing for veggies like we do.
Our sweet neighbor Marty is like a Fairy God Mother. She continues to show up on a regular basis and sprinkle our house with so much love, amazing food, crafts galore, and great company. On this particular day she brought over some princess crowns, necklaces, bracelets, and nail polish for Ruby. Um needless to say Ruby was over the moon excited!
Oh this is hilarious. I went to pick up some bagels from the Einsteins a few weeks ago when I noticed a "Going out of business," sign on a shoe store. I had the twins and Ruby with me at the time, which made the whole experience even that much crazier (3 kids running wild though the store). At any rate, all of the shoes were $1!!! Ruby was picking up shoes left and right (she LOVES shoes). The only problem is most of the shoes were not her size but she did find a few pairs of ladies heels that she wears on a regular basis. This girl, so funny and cute!

15 month old twins
These little babies are sure adorable. It was been pretty warm here lately and the babies love splashing and playing in this little water table a friend gave us.
I put some Duplo Legos in the water and the munchkins were building away with them, they are just darling.

Utah Splash Pad Fun
More on Utah on some future posts but first the splash pads. I'm bummed that they had turned off all of the splash pads in our neck of the woods in San Diego county due to the drought. It seems like there should be some way of reusing the water, but who knows. I do know that my kids love getting wet and very much enjoy these. While we were in Utah for the 4th of July we went to an awesome splash pad at Pioneer Park. After they played around in the water a bit they had a good game of baseball with grandpa.
Utah summers really are pretty magical, I'm grateful we had the chance to go back again this year.

Gordon catches first lizard...Baby Fast
We were out playing in the backyard this weekend when all of a sudden Gordon yells, "Mommy, mommy come look, I caught a LIZARD!" He was beyond thrilled with his catch. A couple of weeks ago we caught another lizard (but basically Gordon had me catch it because he was too scared. The last lizard we caught he named him Fast. So he thought since this lizard was smaller than Fast, we should name him Baby Fast and Baby Fast
As Gordon brought "Baby Fast" over to me to see it him Gordon kept saying, "Mommy look he is such a cutie pie, what a cutie pie!" I had to do everything in my power to not burst out laughing. Oh Gordon, he is the cutie pie!
He even had a little blue belly.

Summer salad
On the night of Gordons preschool graduation one of the parents made this super yummy salad. I tried to duplicate it and ended up eating just about the whole thing in one sitting. Basically you just chop up a variety of fruits and vegetables. I threw in an apple, some grapes, a mini cucumber, carrots, celery, a few handfuls of dried cranberries, a red pepper and anything else I could find in the refrigerator. Next, I sprinkled white Balsamic vinegar from Trader Joes, some olive oil, salt & pepper and for the final touch some goat cheese (also got this from TJ's). Wallah you've got yourself one tasty salad! Eat and enjoy!

4th of July in Utah
We LOVE going to Utah for the 4th of July. It has been a family tradition of ours for the past 6+ years and it just gets better and better each year. This year's festivities consisted of lots of cousin, uncle, aunt, Bobbi, and grandpa time. Followed by long naps, staying up late, time at the parks, lots of swimming and splashing in rivers/waterfalls, a 5K 4th of July race, incredible fireworks shows, lots of ice cream/shakes, eating at Kneaders at least 4 times, 1 date night to the Utah symphony at Thanksgiving Point, my 34th birthday party, Koehle Olympics, a massage, a great 4th of July BBQ at the cousins house, lots of volleyball playing and water balloons, running in the morning, a trip to the Mount Timpanogos temple, a great Sunday dinner, and many more wonderful and enjoyable moments. We can't wait until next year to do it all again!
