Twilight Pairs

My Husband arrived home with this elephant stamp and asked for a card for a male colleague who collects elephants so this is what I came up with. The elephant stamp is from Stamped Rubber and I actually like it. There is so much detail on the stamp that coloring is super easy. I used my French Grey Marker and added some color with Light Peach ....now I ask you how simple. After coloring I used the versamark pen over the image and embossed it with clear powder. The other two stamps are from Stampscapes and I love how useful they are. I stamped both first with Versamark and then Versafine Black Onxy. I then embossed with Detail Clear powder. I stole this technique from the fabulous Michelle Zindorff. The top is one stamp used twice to create the effect of looking through a tree. I used a circle mask to create the sinking sun. The BG was done using Michelle's techniques again....Post It note across the bottom to create the horizon line and color added with a bayer.

The paper I used was double sided 12 x 12 paper of an unknown source...one of those I picked up somewhere. I simply kept switching sides for the entire card. The card fits a 5 x 7 envelope.

I used some cuttlebug dies to add some design to the inside of the card. I had made them for the front but they didn't work so they found a new place inside. The trim on the sentiment is from EK. The sentiment is an Inkadinkado stamp.

I didn't open my computer on Saturday or Sunday so I am really late posting. I had a wonderful time with girlfriends on Sat. and loafed around with DH on Sunday. We accomplished nothing but had a great time. Sometimes it is fun to be useless for a short while.
Not much news today...guess I am still in the useless stage...gotta go make supper for the gang. Talk later.

Stampscaped for a Male

I thought I would show you how I made this male birthday card. I used the stamps shown below to create this scene. The stamps are from Stampscapes found at http://www.stampscapes.com/ . By arranging the stamps you have an unlimited amount of scenes you can create. I have so much fun doing this. I wanted to create some male birthday cards for my DH to use at work so this was the basis for this card.

I colored the image using Prismacolored markers for the trees, cabin, fence but used SU ink for the sky and grasses. I applied the ink using a sponge for the sky and sun. The grass was done using a Kuretake water brush by the cabin and the small stamp for the field. I used a combination of old olive, mellow moss and so saffron on the field. All the images were stamped with walnut stain distress ink. Vintage photo and walnut stain were sponged on the edges as well.
On the inside I used this beautiful paper. All I could find for the name was Hang. If you know of this paper perhaps you could let me know. I purchased this loose paper at Michaels. It is so beautifully thick...wonderful to work with. I used the label one nestibility for the sentiment section on the inside.
I really hope you go check out these stamps. They are very affordable and really allow for a lot of creativity. I am not associated with these stamps I just really enjoy them.
Well March has entered our area with a blast...of snow and cold and wind. What more could I ask for. Just a perfect day for stamping or surfing the web. Talk later.

Sunset on the River

I love coloring. I made this card just so I could color. It started by taking one stamp from Stampscene #4, and moving it around the paper. The top tree line shows two stamped images side by side and the bottom I just showed the top of the stamp. To add depth to the image, I stamped the top row of trees using Walnut Stain Distree ink. The bottom stamps were done using Òld Olive. I think this worked, what do you think?

I had great fun coloring this image. I used my beloved prismacolored pencils to add dimension after first using SU inks to create the base image. For inks I used taken with teal, not quite navy, More mustard, so saffron and pretty in pink. I love the way you can use the colored pencils over the ink to add depth and enhance the color. I have not got the markers yet but you can also use pencils over the markers. My beloved colored pencils are so very versatile...give them a shot.

I added a piece of ribbon from the $bin at Michaels that would mimic the dots from the dotted swiss cuttlebug folder used on the base. This is my favorite BG on a card. I touched the gold ink pad across the top so all the dots are touched with gold.

I added a Thinking of You oval at the bottom but I can change it to anything if needed. I used repositional sticker so I can change it in the future.

Off to look for a fireplace for my son`s apartment so wish me luck.
