HAPPY FRIDAY!

I hope you all had a great week.  I sure did - I got a BOATLOAD of sewing done - which feels spectacular since I've been in such a lull lately.  Sewjo's back, baby!  :D

So, this week in Instagram Shenanigans...

I got mega-lucky and was asked to pattern test for Heidi and Finn - the newest pattern is called the Slouchy Cardigan, and it's fantaaaastic.  I should be able to blog it next week at some point!

I got mega-lucky again, and was asked to pattern test Rachael's new adult pattern, the Bess Top!  That'll be up on the blog soon, too!  Here it is mid-sew... Check that sweet pleat!

I sewed a tee shirt!  Last night!  Waiting for my laundry to dry!
Want the recipe for fastest-tee-shirt-ever (second only to the lightningspeed Tumble Tee)?  Kitschy Coo's Skater Dress bodice, lengthened 4-5 inches, plus my Bimaa hem band piece. Boom. One dryer cycle > one tee shirt.
Fabric is from Girl Charlee. :)

I dyed this sweater.
Meh.

I sewed up a final run-through of the hood addition to my Bimaa Sweater!  And took pics of Emmy wearing it while she was super sick with a cold and I can't stop lolllling because she looks like she wants to eat the souls of kittens in this picture.  L O L.  Poor dear. :)
The hood will be finalized and published next week!  There will also be a pattern tour for the Bimaa this October!  Stay tuned for that!  So excited, I can't even.

So that's a bit of my week in Instagram shots!  Are you on IG?  Come follow and have a laugh with me - I'm @sarahsarahbeth.  If you see my husband playing with Emmy's toys, Emmy touching huge bugs, or 'wine at work' - you've found me.  ;)

Have a great weekend, all, and hold your kittens extra close tonight!

Good Friday to you all!

I hope you've had a good week and have fabulous plans for the weekend!  I have been working so, so hard on getting my patterns released, and there is much more work to be done - so this weekend I've decided to give myself a hot minute and just sew for fun, in an effort to regain my sanity.  :)  Plus I always feel recharged after a quick new project.  It'll be nice to blog about something other than this pattern line, amiright?

So here is my week in review, as seen through my Instagram foolishness.

I was Google searching for sweater knit sources, and Joann Fabrics came up.  I was intrigued, so I clicked.  This is what met me on the page:

Cats in Sweaters.  CATS. IN SWEATERS.
Go home, Joann.  You're drunk.

Then a few nights later, we made some cats in sweaters!

Funfetti with orange frosting... Tastes like an Orange Creamcicle!

Then one night while sewing, and Instagraming, and enjoying an adult beverage - I hit a pin on my serger.  NEVER have I ever done this, and guess what happened?  The KNIFE broke.  Not the pin - the pin isn't even bent.  The top part of the knife flew off, right by my eye, before I even realized what actually happened.

Horrifying.

Horrifying and also really not good for business!  I had to finish the leopard print sweater you see here by the next day.  So off I went the next morning to my local sewing machine shop to get a replacement knife.  THIRTY dollars, in case you were wondering.  That Pabst Blue Ribbon cost me THIRTY dollars.

Shiny new knife. All is well with the world.

I shared a picture of the lines of my Bimaa Pattern... they are colorful!  The Hosh Pants are digitized in all black lines, but that wasn't possible with the Bimaa.  Pretty, non?

And, finally, listed for sale!  Clicking that Publish button is an amazing feeling.  I can't wait to do it again and again.  :)

Bought myself these ridiculously amazing loafers on Etsy for $20 including shipping.  Sort of a congratulatory gift-to-self, and also in anticipation of Spring!  My favorite season!

Drool.  They have arrived since, and they are spectacular.

But today - this is happening:

Oye.  SO Winter weary.
It's supposed to be in the 50's all next week, so there is light at the end of the snow blower.

So that's my week in Instagram pics.  Come follow - there are lols to be had.  :)

And here's what I think I'm making for Emmy's birthday dress...

New Look 6115.  The adorable bow version.

I have this fabric that I really want to use for it - it's just a matter of finding the perfect mate to use for the other panels of the dress:

Maggy London satin, found here.  (There's 5 yards left as of now... If ya' like it, better hustle!)
So I'll raid my stash tonight and see what I have to work with it.  I think it'll be really cute - I pull this pattern out all the time to remind myself to make the dang thing!  The bow!  The panels!  Ahh!  Perfect for a lovely lady who's turning three, don't you think?  :)

So what are YOU doing this weekend?!  Do share.

Happy Friday everyone!  I love how Fridays KEEP HAPPENING.  That's awesome.

Here's a peek into my week in Instagram pictures, and I see no better place to start than with bacon.
Bokeh bacon.

And here's Emmy gathering all the supplies needed to make "aes an toes".  Translation: Eggs and Toast.
Looks complicated!  So much oil!  So much balsamic!

Nothing too exciting here, just dying a light pink sweater navy.  It came out great, but it's just so boring, too boring to blog about.  I did however stab my finger with thread snips whilst removing the buttons from said pink sweater.  THAT was exciting, tell you what.

Do you guys ever dye things?  I sort of love doing it.

Em eating her 'bokily chees noos' (broccoli cheese noodles) and wearing her Flower Crown!
Thrilled by how much she loves her crown.  #proudmama

#cheeksfordays

The shameful state of my sewing room.  I am swimming in fabric.  I need to sew.
I think that's what I'll do this weekend - sew 'til I can't sew no more!

The reason I have these HUGE cuts of fabric is because when I started my Shop (currently closed due to curator's mental one-eighty), I was planning on selling the clothing that I designed and made.  But I have decided, finally and definitively, that I will be designing and selling children's clothing sewing patterns instead.

And I am so, SO EXCITED.

Everything began to fall into place on this wonky path I've been on, and for me, things falling into place without too much effort is a sign that you're doing it right.  So, forward I shall move.

I hope you all have great weekends!

Cheers,

Happy Friday peeps!

Hope you had a good start to the new year this week.  I sure did - I have been enjoying taking a little bit of extra care and time for myself... Just stealing little moments here and there to do nice things for myself that make me feel a little closer to my best.  It's something I've needed to start doing, and I can attest - everyone benefits.  Everyone. Benefits. :)

Started sewing a dress for myself - love it.  More info is on my FB page.

I got second earring holes!  I've been wanting to do this FO EVAH but there was always so many reasons not to - mainly - I felt selfish.  But it was the most lovely mall-walking, ear-piercing, solo-time I've had in a long while.  And guess what?  Emmy was napping and Jonas just did whatever Jonas does for the hour or so that I was gone.  THE EARTH DIDN'T END because I took a little me-time.  Who knew.

Third and final self-love item of the week - a desperately needed haircut and color.  Trust me when I say, no one tried to barricade the door when I left for this appointment.  Lol. #badhair #nomore

We finally got a good blast of snow!  It was of poor snowman-making quality, but beautiful nonetheless.

Play Doh.
Play Doh face-printing.

Hahaha.

If you want to follow me on Instagram (@SarahSarahBeth) there are many lol's that await you.

Have a great weekend everyone!
I hope to finish my me-dress and then figure out how to style it for pictures in a way that isn't R rated.  The neckline - she gapes.

Good day!
