Edistystä Some progress

Tanssilavan rakentaminen on edennyt. Olen tehnyt seiniä. Seinälautojen materiaalina on lämpökäsitelty haapa. Se on kevyttä ja sitä on helppo sahata käsisahalla.
Nyt rakennuksesta saa jo käsityksen. Siinä on korkea kulmikas tanssisali ja matala suorakaiteen muotoinen osa, johon tulee esiintymislava ja pieni kioski.

Building the dance hall has progressed. I've done the walls. The material of the walls is heat treated aspen. It is lightweight and easy to saw with a hand saw.
Now it is easier for you to get the idea of the building. It has a high angular shaped dance hall and a low rectangular section with a stage for the band and a small kiosk / stall.

Ikkunoiden kohdissa on pienet penkit. Materiaali on jotain jätelautaa, joka oli ruskeaksi maalattua.En ole vielä päättänyt, minkä värinen rakennuksesta tulee.

There are small benches in front of the windos.  The material is something waste  boards which was  brown. I have not yet decided what color the building will become.

Tuoreita kukkia Fresh flowers

 On ihanaa, että nyt voi puutarhasta ja tienpientareelta poimia tuoreita kukkia vaikka joka päivä. 

Tykkään erityisen paljon lemmikeistä, varsinkin sinisistä.

 It is wonderful that we can now pick fresh flowers from the garden and the roadsides every day, if we want.
I love Forget-me-not-flowers, especially the blue ones.

Uusi projekti A new project

Olen aloittanut uuden kesäisen projektin.  Suomalaiset lukijat varmaan jo arvaavat, mistä on kyse, kun näkevät tämän rakennelman. Tämä on tanssilavan lattia. Alustana on pahvilevy ja sen päälle on katkonut listaleikkureilla sytyketikkuja, jotka liimasin pahviin kiinni.

I've started a new summer project. Finnish readers probably already guess what it is all about when they see this construction. This is the floor of a dance hall. I cut the boards with the cutters and glued the floor on the cardboard.

 Maalasin lattiaa vaatomuovipalasella käyttäen hyvin vesipitoista akryylimaalia. Halusin lattiaan vain vähän väriä, koska tanssilavojen lattiat ovat yleensä olleet maalaamattomia.

I painted the floor using very aqueous acrylic paint. I just wanted some color on the floor, as the floors of dance halls have generally been unpainted.

Valokuva-albumi Photo album

Isoisä on ottanut esille vanhan valokuva-albumin ja laatikollisen irtovalokuvia. Valokuvia on kiva katsella aina silloin tällöin ja niiden katsominen tuo mieleen kaikenlaisia muistoja.
Isoäiti on saanut ison kukkavaasin, johon hän on poiminut puutarhasta keltaisia tulppaaneja.

Minun intohimoni on minitavaroiden tekeminen. Ostokseni ovat pääasiassa materiaaleja. Haluaisin kyllä ostaa useammin valmiita tavaroita, mutta se ei tällä hetkellä ole taloudellisesti mahdollista. Nyt olen ostanut Mini-Halin valokuva-albumitarvikepaketin. Tekemiseen ei mennyt aikaa puolta tuntia kauempaa.

Grandpa has taken up the old photo album and a box of photos. It is nice to watch photos every now and then, and watching them brings to mind all sorts of memories.

Grandmother has received a big flower vase to which she has picked yellow tulips from the garden.

My passion is to make mini items. My purchases are mainly materials. I would like to buy more finished goods more often, but it is not currently economically possible. Now I have purchased Mini-Hali´s photo album kit. It took not more than half an hour to make it.

Tänä aamuna olivat Emilia ja isä keittiössä kattamassa äidille pöytää. Vain kerran vuodessa syödään aamupalaksi täytekakkua. Äidille oli ostettu suklaarasia ja kaunis ruusu. Vietetäänhän tänään äitienpäivää.

This morning Emily and father were laying the table for mom. Only once a year they eat cake as breakfast. They had bought a chocolate box and a beautiful rose for mom. Today is celebrated Mother's Day.

Kasveja Plants

Kasvien maailma on ihmeellinen. Olen todennut sen jälleen kerran kulkiessani metsässä. Löysin nämä nukkekotiin sopivat kasvit sieltä. Yleensä tämän kasvin lehdet ovat yksivärisiä vihreitä. Kyseessä on ikivihreä kasvi. Vasemman puoleinen kasvi on harvinainen kirjavalehtinen, jota löysin vain yhden oksan. Tämä on aito variegata-versio. Oikealla puolella on puolestaan punertava kasvi, jossa uudet lehdet ovat vaalean vihreän ja punertavan kirjavia ja muuttuvat kesän edetessä vihreiksi. Kyseessä on puolukka. Tunnistitko?

The world of plants is marvelous. I found it once again as I walked in the forest. I found these potty plants suitable for the dollhouse. In general, the leaves of this plant are monochromatic green. It's an evergreen plant. The left-hand plant is a rare variegata one, which I found only one branch. This is a genuine variegata version. On the right side is a reddish plant where new leaves are pale green and reddish, and will change as the summer progresses to green. It's a lingonberry. Did you recognize it?
