Summer Memories Album - Kerstin Filou

Hello everyone!

I  created a sea inspired mini album as memory on beautiful relaxed days.

It has been equipped with many flaps, pockets and other storage possibilities to keep nice mementos.

At Dusty Attic I found a lot of small special chipboards that fit perfectly to the sea theme.

I used them as photo frames, to attach flaps (anchors) and as eye-catchers for decoration.

Just Because - Kim Arnold

Hi everyone! Some pretty floral inspiration today from me.

I have created a bright and pretty layout of two lovely friends and I dressed up enjoying a day at the races using a beautiful Dusty Attic chipboard title, mandala, daisies and word disks and strips. I will take you through what I have used and what techniques I applied.

Starting with the mandala, I painted it with gold mica paint which covers the chipboard perfectly. I then cut it 1/3rd and 2/3rds so that I could include it on both side of the layout with the photo in between. Cutting the chipboard off centre makes the layout more interesting and dynamic.

Mandala #2 by Nuneka

For the title, I painted it white and then rubbed it with white pearl wax which gives it a pearlescent shine. The word disk and strip are just painted white so they don’t stand out as much as the title. I have layered the title over the larger part of the mandala so it really stands out.

I then coloured the daisies white with a bright yellow paint in the centre. I love the effect of the painted daisies among the dimensional paper flowers. I have also used some small foliage berries which I have painted with green stems and gold berries. These are also nestled amongst the flower cluster.

I hope you have a chance to get some creative time in soon.

Happy scrapping

Mothers hold their children's hands .... - Deb Stephens - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello Dusty Friends. This layout was inspired by both the Monthly sketch and Mood board. These photos were taken on Mothers day with my mum and my husband and kids and I decided to use them as I like having multiple photos on one layout and printing photos in odd shapes brings more interest. I used DA0932 Polaroid frames for the small photos.

Although I have a love for beautiful patterned paper, (and have a decent stash, as I am sure we all do) more and more I find myself reaching for a blank sheet of white or black 12 x 12 so that I can customize it to my photos' colour scheme. I sprayed and flicked some distress Oxide Sprays in yellow and green tones to tie in the colour of the dress I wore in the main photo.

The ephemera was a fussy cut file that I purchased online from the WhiteCatJournal store, printed onto white cardstock and fussy cut. These were inked and layered up with foam. I also used a Stitched rectangle frame from 49 & Market, some assorted small flowers and fussy cut tickets from one of their patterned papers.

DA2659 Mothers hold their childrens hands chipboard sentiment was painted and attached to the frame.

I hope you enjoyed this simple layout and get inspired by the Mood Board and the Sketch Challenge. Dusty Attic products used are shown below.

its all about ME - Heather Woodall

 Good morning

Today I've gone steampunk again. I've had this round wooden serving tray in my stash for a little while to do something with, and this month was the month. I have also taken my inspiration from this month's mood board challenge.

I started by adding some white crackle paste to the base (which is now the top) and around the sides. I helped it crackle by heating it a little. I then used a combination of Lindys Magicals and Distress Stains to get the colouring I wanted. I wasn't aiming for a tree stump look, but I think that's kind of what I ended up with. Happy accident.

I had this beautiful paper collection from Studio 73 which I cut some elements from and added them to the now top of the tray using a combination of levels of foam tape and clear drying glue. I also added some tulle ruffles to the skirt for extra dimension and softeness.

I also added some 49 and Market Flowers just to soften it a little.

The chipboard title "It's All About Me" - DA33419 - https://dustyattic.com.au/product/its-all-about-me/ - was simply inked with Speckled Egg Distress Oxide Ink and then stuck down.

The remaining chipboard pieces were inked with a combination of rusty orange colour distress oxided inks and speckled egg distress oxide ink.. They were then tucked in amongst the layers of the papers and flowers

I finished off my project by adding some glossy accents to the title and to the dress and cat.

Somewhere over the Rainbow - Rikki G - Mood Board Inspiration

Good morning how are you? Well its time to start getting back into the routine of school runs and early nights and early dinners....

Ohhhhh adulting lol I have really enjoyed my little break spending time with my girl, getting creative in our art journals, some little project life and of course playing with my Dusty Attic Chipboard.

How can you not feel inspired?

I have a little process video so you can follow along.

To kick off the layout spray your chipboard pieces white, you all know I love that as my start point and against the vibrate yellow they really show all the amazing individual Dusty Attic pieces and how you can make some amazing art.

Start with the Big Moon by Nuneka, by adding it to the edge of your photo.

Add the Dusty Attic Flower Buds over the moon, give the stems a bit of a curve to mimic the edge of the moon.

Add the Dusty Attic Dandelions through out the clusters..... like little star bursts.

And do the same with the Dusty Attic Industrial Jumbo Gears....

Finish off with the Title.

I hope this has inspired you.

Remember you still have time to enter the two amazing Dusty Attic Challenges, just scroll below to grab all the details.
